- Another job that a fridge complained to be not cooling. Customer said fans and compressor works but temperature is very warm.
They said a Technician checked it and says compressor is the problem and need a new motor.
They called me and I did my pre diagnostic.
I said compressor is good and I suspect its gas leak.
So I did leak test patiently (almost 30 minutes of checking for minute leak) and it pays off.
Now leak is found on the Fridge evaporator not a faulty compressor as diagnosed by other technician.

That can work….but its good to rinse off the coil with clean water afterward, as the soap can be corrosive. If you buy the actual leak detector solution, it normally is labeled “ non corrosive”
Hi IKE79, good points, yes totally agree of rinsing the coil mate.
On this case, being a sealed system warranty, a new Evaporator will be fitted and reprocessed properly (new drier, Evac and Regas).
I also wash those suds around the same as you got in mind. Thanks heaps for good comment👌
That same spray on the video (Better Bubble) is a leak test solution which is formualted on Refrigeration for leak testing similar to what you mentioned.
Lately the white goods products are noticed to have poor quality materials and I have 5 same model fridge in my shop with evaporator gas leak.
Ok….nice…I guess I was misled by the title of the video….” How to find a gas leak on a fridge using simple soap and water” 😂…I should have looked more closely at the label on the spray bottle…nice job on the leak detection, have fun replacing the evaporator coil. Hopefully there are no additional leaks in the system… 🙈😅…nice channel btw
How old is the fridge to have a leak on the pipe? 👍

Unfortunately the fridge is only 15 months old.
I believe the parts quality is causing this early premature leaking. Sad to see this on whitegoods products nowadays.
This is covered by Manufacturers warranty under sealed system defect. So a Brand New Evaporator Coil will be fitted. Reprocess and regas. 👍
