      デラックス特撮DX Tokusatsu It actually depends on the Lionbot variant. So check out my other Lionbot videos. I go over those variants.

    Voltron was one of the first animated TV shows to be broadcast in stereo.

    I would love a video that goes indepth on the difference of each individual lion.

      That I would love to do. But RUclips blocked me from adding more videos unless I have 1k followers, under their new rules for old channels. I’d have to start a whole new channel to continue unless I get this to 1k followers. So we’ll see what I can do.

    That should be a more recent version if it has grey wing joints. 1989/90 and up Lionbots all have the grey wing joints. Interesting that the ears on yellow lion doesn't shoot but they're a lot of other odd variations out there that pop up. I guess over at Yaun Yi where these are made, it depends on who the chef is in the kitchen during that production day haha,

      However the red star belt buckle is what my all plastic Korean version has and made by Kangnam Model. I've also recently bought an older Lionbot Black Lion with white connecters on it's wings. It was in an individual packaging with all it's weapon arsenal. Plus I found plastic versions of red and green lions which were Taiwan versions that were molded from the die-cast ones. But I could not find the blue and yellow lions alone in individual Lionbot boxes. So I've found an alternative yet cheaper Taiwan versions of them that were packed the same way but they both say just Lion on the main top of the cover with the word Chogokin on the far right side. So now I have a complete older version of Lionbot.

      weprin2 See, that’s the fun of the hunt or a deep rabbit hole, on Lionbots. It seems the variants are endless. I have a buddy with a huge variant collection. If you want the link to his video, I’ll send it to you.

    Brent, how about the Lionbot Diamond belt with the V chest? I've noticed on the Diamond belts, the chrome is really really nice. Thanks!

      Heath Day Yes, the V-chest ones are nice as well. I’ll do a video on mine as I need to get back to it. Had a lot of other life events take place the last 4-5 months that kinda set me back.

      Infinite Godaikin /Brent sounds great man. Can’t wait to see it. I’ve seen fewer of the V chest than the other diamond belts. Also any idea why the chrome on the lower half of the legs are different from the regular Lionbot legs? I like that they’re different along with the changes to the blue lions.

      Heath Day I think it’s due to age. The older these guys are, the better the chrome job. Remember in the mid 80s, these were being made right beside the Matchbox Voltrons, so the quality is a bit better than later versions of the Lionbot that were just being made on their own.

    Does the Lionbot black lion come with silver painted thighs or black?

    • @infinitegodaikinbrent8174
      @infinitegodaikinbrent8174  6 лет назад +1

      Vincent C. Castillo Sure my friend. It comes in several different variants. Chrome, chrome decals, painted silver, painted gray, and plain black. Only the real old old ones 1980s to maybe 1990/91 come with actual chrome legs. The ones after 91, black lion’s legs usually come with one of the other variants. Now that’s not to say someone could slip a 1997 Trendmasters legs on one either. The 97 Trendmasters Voltron did have Chrome legs on black lion, and they are interchangeable.

      Cool this helps a lot thanks! I’m looking into buying a Lionbot. If I get one with black thighs I’m gonna have to paint it silver.

      Vincent C. Castillo Go to eBay and put this number in the search bar. This one appears to be a correct late 80s Lionbot. Now if it has Grey wing clips, it is an 89-91 version. But if it has white clips it is a pre-89. But the box looks correct for late 80s, and the lions have the sharp teeth, unlike the later rounded teeth. So it should do you right. 254043638898

    I'm 99% sure this is the version I had as a kid in the mid/late 80s (lionbot that is). Mine had grey joints on the red and green lions and the black lions wings. Also the blue lion had a yellow tail and they all had the sharp teeth. I remember the weapons being packaged in the styrofoam on the right side just like that. If you are saying that the grey wing joints transition was '89, that would have made me 9 years old at the time so that is plausible.
    Very interesting video and pretty informative. Thanks a bunch.

      William Waller Very cool! Yes, the Grey joint in the red wings took place in late 88 or early 89 right in there. But all the Lionbots before had the white joint piece in the wings. But besides that, still a quality Voltron, even the ones still being made today.

    Yes. The Trendmasters Voltron was also made at Yaun Yei factory in Taiwan. But painted differently, and the arms, and a few other minor things are different.

    Great historical review. But i wish you zoomed in on the robots more to see the variations between the Two.. But great review nonetheless.

    I have a golion or voltron I'm not 100% sure. I bought this new when I was a kid back in the earl 80's, The blue lion has a yellow tail and all lions have sharp teeth. There are no decals on the underside, I may have peeled them I can't remember. All the launchers are intact and I have all the weapons minus the yellow missles. Just trying to find out which one I have. The belt has a star and the chest shield has the cross and the faceshield is blue. The green and red lions have grey joints and tails. Let me know if you have any idea. I can send pics.

    Excellent video mate, very informative. Im thinking of buying one of the newer lionbots on ebay, but have watched a couple of reviews saying how sloppy the paint apps are, i spose some will be ok and some not as good hey?

    Thanks for the great video. I think I'll get one of these Lionbots :)
    By the way, what is the height of this robot?... The ones offered on ebay apparently are 12" tall, but the one in your video might seem shorter?....

    • @infinitegodaikinbrent8174
      @infinitegodaikinbrent8174  3 года назад

      No it’s 12 inches or so. The one in the video is an older version plus camera angle. So the new Taiwan versions are totally worth getting. Thanks so much and take care.

    I just recently purchased a Taiwan chogokin 1980 brand new in the box from Taiwan, I am under the impression this is actually from 1980, I paid $218, please advise thanks

    The Lionbot I bought last year is a different variant. It does have grey plastic pieces holding the wings and Yellow Lion's ear cannons are there but they do not shoot. overall the toy is pretty much the same as compared to my Matchbox and Trendmasters Voltron sets.

    I’m seeing one on eBay for $ 500 but the box says go lion not lion bot . Is that worth it be cause the lionbot goes for no more than $165

  • @infinitegodaikinbrent8174
    @infinitegodaikinbrent8174  7 лет назад +1

    Son22, no, no difference. Your just paying more for the box that says Golion. I’d just pick up a Lionbot. Animerobot on eBay is a trusted seller from Taiwan. Get one from him. And let me know how it is once you get it.
