The way I see Damian being jealous of the 3 main robins. Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake is bc Bruce chose them, he saw something in them and loved them. Bruce didn't choose Damian bc of biology, Damian is jealous he has other sons he loved first before him

This Batman and Robin relationship is great, because normally the others Robins made Batman more human, but this time, Batman has to teach Robin how to be more human.
Which is why in the comics for a while Dick Grayson was Batman and Damien Wayne was Robin so you had a happy go lucky Batman and a grim brooding Robin. Bruce Wayne was thought to be dead at the time but was actually just time travelling.

The thing you really have to understand about Damian is that even though he is a child, he wasnt raised as a child and he doesnt see himself as a child. He speaks as if he always has thesaurus on hand and addresses everyone formally by their last name. He isnt like the other Robin 's for this exact reason. But to Damian family is everything, he does care it's just that he doesnt know how to show it. He's essentially a mini version of adult Bruce, but not raised by alfread, and with an Al Ghul upbringing.
I love that this is an actual, canon answer. Why is architecture so weird in Gotham? Bruce Wayne made it that way on purpose so he could exploit it as Batman. He literally built the city for his benefit.
Even though Damian Wayne isn't really my favourite Robin I do think Damian is an interesting and nuanced character. He truly is Bruce's son and shares many attributes of this his father and his mother. Damian can most definitely be a little bratty, arrogant and down right a prick but this is the son if Batman after all so you kinda have to expect that from him. This line up movies really makes Damian one of the best characters (if not the best) characters in this line up of DCAMU movies adapting the New 52 Reboot comics. Damian goes on quite a good character arc and seeing his more emotional and vulnerable side to him after restricting his feelings and losing out on a real childhood, you can understand why it takes time for him to grow
I like all the robins, myself. Yeah even that one. I like how they all have their own unique personality, something to bounce off of Bruce Nightwing MVP though. Let's get drunk and have a ton of sex, then beat people up with shock batons and POWERFUL THIGHS
I appreciate your take here, because I personally think that this version of Damian is unlikable and at worst insufferable 🤔. When first watching these films I was hoping that they would evolve Damian into a better character that we can root for to become the next Robin and I feel like we were maybe getting there until Justice League vs Teen Titans where they regressed him making the first half of that film difficult to muscle through. I haven't seen some of the last films in this continuity like Apokolips War and so maybe they've done well with him there, but as of right now I much prefer the likable versions of him we get in Batman vs Ninja Turtles and the animated Injustice. Sidenote: I know people are gonna come in with their differences by bringing up Damian's backstory but remember that that might explain his behavior but does not excuse it 🤨.
In the comics there are four main Robins; Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne, in that order. There are a few other smaller Robins like Stephanie Brown or Jarro, but they’re the main four. In this Universe, Jason and Tim don’t exist, they just went from Dick to Damian.

One of the things that you guys will start to noticed is whenever Batman is with the Justice League, his suit is always black and gray but whenever he’s not with them, his suit is an almost dark grayish blue color. I was always glad that they kept that consistent with these movies. Just a little detail to remember.

(At 14:05) originally, how he lost his right was because… not only did H.I.V.E. kidnapped his 2nd son (who we saw in the 5th season finale), but despite saving his son… one the HIVE Soldiers managed to take the boy's voice, by stabbing him in the throat. Because of THAT, his former Military Captain/Wife take it SO PERSONAL… she shot her Supersoldier Husband in the face… AT… POINT… BLANK… RANGE!
I'm a big fan of Deathstroke, so I find it a bit disappointing that this movie series really underwhelmed the character's true potential. In the comics, the guy in a nutshell is equivalent to a Super Assassin Batman.

Sure, Damien is nothing like an average kid, but he is still a person who isn't even puberty strong yet. Deathstroke before he got his powers in the comics was still just as skilled and arguably as strong as Batman was.

And even without using Damien vs Deathstroke, this is the same movie where Nightwing handled Damien without leaving a bruise on him, and where Slade was easily dealt with by Batman. Deathstroke in this continuity is just mediocre without the supergenes. I get he's the badguy and he has to lose at the end, but I just wished they were more respectful to the character.

Sone clean up is needed: Carrie is from an alternate universe where Batman retired after Jason's death and thus she became the 3rd and last Robin in place of Tim Drake. Thank you for including Lance & spelling Damian right. Matt McGinnis is specifically from Batman Beyond which is likely also an alternative world. And Drake Winston is specifically and only from the '89 and echoes comic run that supposedly continues Burton's Batmans replacing anything Schumacher related but is actually based on something like a screenwriter that only worked and was friends with Burton. Burton even confirmed that these comics are not based off his original ideas. Technically speaking there's two other Robins in the forms of young Bruce Wayne, for some reason, and Bruce Wayne Jr. but both are pretty niche. The former is comics only and the latter was in both comics and the Brave/Bold cartoon admittedly briefly.
Hey boys, just wanted to give some context on the robin situation. Historically in the comics, there’s been 5 main robins. Dick grayson was first later becoming nightwing. Then Jason Todd, who was voted to get killed off by fans, later becoming RedHood. Then there’s Tim Drake, the only robin to figure out who Batman is FIRST. Known to be the worlds second greatest detective. Then there’s Damian wayne, (my fav) He’s as you learn through this movie Batman’s reluctant child, so badass. Then there’s Stephanie Brown / Carrie Kelly. They are both female robins and badass, Carrie kelly you met in the Dark Knight Returns pt 1 and pt 2. I lumped them together because they’re both pretty recent and don’t have too much content about them in comics. Hope this helped! love the reactions to this series of animated movies they’re so sick. Can’t wait to see what you guys think of Justice Leage : Apocolypse War. And if u guys want a cool stand alone movie! “Batman by gaslight” imagines batman during the times of Jack the Ripper. Pretty recent? Carrie was created before Tim lol. Aside from a handful of cameos, she doesn't exist in the main continuity. Also Robin is practically a footnote in Stephanie's history as Spoiler and Batgirl are way more important to her story
27:32 Dick is the first Robin and Bruce’s eldest son. All the other robins (depending on the timeline) are, dead (Jason Todd) moved on (Red Robin, Batgirl/Spoiler), retired etc.. Dick is always a constant. As much as Dick doesn’t want it, most of us know he would be the best choice for the next Batman.

Just to answer a question you guys had - yes, Damian appearing is quite a few years into Bruce’s time as Batman. Just to put it into perspective - he did this solo for a number of years. Then Dick was Robin for like 10 years. Then Jason for like 3-4 yrs (you saw him in Under the Red Hood), and then Tim Drake was Robin for like 4-5 years. Stephanie Brown briefly took up the mantle during one of his “off” periods for like 70 days before Tim Drake returned and re-took the position. Damian’s run (without getting too in to it) actually coincides with Tim’s in the beginning. I have NO idea why but Tim Drake is rarely animated/represented in movies despite having quite the unique career. Even during times when he’s actually around (canonically) he’s not included for whatever reason ie. Under the Red Hood actually occurs during his early run as Robin. Literally one of the reasons Jason is so pissed is because he felt replaced by Tim who became Robin six months after his death. I think he’s literally only been animated twice despite his character having been around since the late 80’s.)
from red hood: the pit can ressurect the dead but it can cause problems depending on one handles it, for ras case for hundreds of years he lived this long so they aint sure whats the repurcussions on him if brought back from the dead.
Keep in mind nightwing was fighting to disarm and keep Damien unharmed while Damien was fighting to kill. That's why nightwing was injured while Damien was fine.
If you guys continue watching this continuity, you may notice that Damien actually seems to get weaker as the story progresses. In this movie he's kicking around a guy who's four times Damien's mass like it's nothing, or matching Slade in strenght in a sword fight. In later movies, he shows less and less rediculous feats of strenght. There's a theory that Ra's or Talia was dosing Damien with some kind of steroid or Super-soldier serum.
There are actually FIVE canonical Robins in the main timeline: Dick Grayson, Jason Todd (who also appears in the animated films that you haven't goten to yet), Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown (aka Secret, but I don't think the films ever use her), and Damien. There's also Carrie Kelley in the Dark Knight Returns continuity, which is a separate continuity.

Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne are the main Robins, in that order. Dick is who you know from Teen Titans and Young Justice who becomes Nightwing, Jason was the one killed with a crowbar by The Joker and became Red Hood, Tim Drake is the most disrespected and forgotten one because the comics moved onto Damian way too quick (but he is the main one in the Arkham games, where is still kinda disrespected), Damian is the youngest. Jason was actually the first Robin viewed as a son by Batman, that precedent retroactively changed Dick from a young ward who could have been Batman's little brother age wise to his son. Damian is his only biological child in current canon. The DCAMU is based on The New 52 which despite being a reset is a little further in every main hero's story. But the other Robins don't exist in these movies.
The dark Knight trilogy breaks Cannon due to the fact Bruce was trained by the League of assassins to become Batman that's not how Batman origin generally goes. Bruce disappears at a young age to return as the Batman then bruce later runs into the league of assassins and training he received is to replace Ra's al ghul as demons head.

It amazes me that there isnt more hype for the DC animated universe - like every movie is a banger. If they put the budget and advertising into these movies that they put into the DCEU (which lets face it, haven't been as good) they would be blockbusters.
Bruce has like 10 plus kids. Dicks first, then Jason, but there is another before him named Cassandra or Cass. Next is Tim, Steph is an honorary member. After her is Duke and lastly is Damian. Theres a few nore kids but they're not mention much, but their names are Harper and Cullen Row. Theres Carrie Kelly but shes in a different future or timeline. Oh and Terry McGuiness. Dick Grayson probably the one that features the most is because of legacy. the 1940's batman serials had Grayson as robin, the adam west batman had grayson, the dcau was mostly grayson and eventually had drake towards the end to bring in more kids, the teen titans, and the live action joel schumacher had grayson. talking about literally decades of live action and animation as just having Grayson as robin and is quite literally the only robin some generations know existed so they never introduce the successors in new projects to avoid confusion.
Just talking about the "Robin" thing: In mainline comic continuity, as well as some works based on it, Dick Grayson becomes the first Robin, grows into teenhood, then becomes Nightwing. Then comes in Jason Todd, who becomes the second Robin, dies, gets resurrected, and then becomes the Red Hood. Third is Tim Drake, who becomes Red Robin later on. Then you get to Damian, Bruce's son, who takes on the Robin mantle. There are other Robins, but they're usually in Elseworlds stories, like The Dark Knight Returns with Stephanie Brown. There have also been a few Batgirls. Besides Babara Gordon, there was one girl named Cassandra Cain, who, like Damian, was raised to be an assassin, but she jad appeared quite some time before him. What was really unique about her, though, is that, instead of being taught how to read, write, or even speak a language, she was taught the "Language of Violence", wherein she could read a person's intent through their tics and mannerisms. She had become Batgirl after her first kill, when the dying breath of her mark traumatized her, and she ran away to use her skills for good, hence why she joined up with Batman. Sorry if this was a little long, but comic lore can be fascinating sometimes.
Man-Bat is an actual Batman villain, usually Dr. Kirk Langstrom (the scientist in charge of making it for Slade) messes up an experiment and turns himself into that. This movie is evidently set after that happened and he has cured himself. That’s why Batman instantly calls them Man-Bats, it’s not just a cheesy line
I know you guys are getting deeper into the New 52 Era of movies, but if you ever feel like going back, I recommend "Crisis on Two Earths" and "Superman vs The Elite". The movies with the hardest Batman and Superman lines in animated history, respectively.
Dr. Langstrom is the scientist behind the Man-Bat mutation. He actually became the Man-Bat himself. Ducky from NCIS is Alfred. Deathstroke's VA was that guy from Criminal Minds. There's a hilarious Tumblr post where Batman scares the villains the most is not when he's growly and threatening, but when he uses his "disappointed dad" voice.

Glad you noticed how much Batman Damian is as Robin, because there was a shift attempted in a storyline where Bruce is pressumed dead and Nightwing takes up the mantle as the new and second Batman. But as is own version with Damian as his Robin. Shifting the vibes of making Batman lighter and Robin darker. It was an interesting run for sure.

The robin order goes Richard Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne. Its gets murky after that and we get Stephanie Brown, Carrie Kelley and some others in one offs or brief appearances.
So these first two JL and Batman movies have a really wierd adaptation ethos: the batman ones loosly adapt one story with elements of others while the JL ones do adaptaions of then recent stories but do changes that would be fine on their own but when you put the JL and Batman movies together they don't line up properly even tho they're made by 90% the same people

One thing one never does is try to being back a soul after death with the pit. Because it damages it, never brings it back whole. So if you ever see any dc character brought back by the pit, expect... Changes...
Batman looks relatively new in Justice League War because he is notoriously hard to contact or locate. heroes like the flash talk about him like he was a myth because no one other than the bad guys and the police of Gotham knew he was real. But this Batman has been going at it for years by the time War took place.

This Batman and Robin relationship is great, because normally the others Robins made Batman more human, but this time, Batman has to teach Robin how to be more human.
Which is why in the comics for a while Dick Grayson was Batman and Damien Wayne was Robin so you had a happy go lucky Batman and a grim brooding Robin. Bruce Wayne was thought to be dead at the time but was actually just time travelling.

The thing you really have to understand about Damian is that even though he is a child, he wasnt raised as a child and he doesnt see himself as a child. He speaks as if he always has thesaurus on hand and addresses everyone formally by their last name. He isnt like the other Robin 's for this exact reason. But to Damian family is everything, he does care it's just that he doesnt know how to show it. He's essentially a mini version of adult Bruce, but not raised by alfread, and with an Al Ghul upbringing.

Even though Damian Wayne isn't really my favourite Robin I do think Damian is an interesting and nuanced character. He truly is Bruce's son and shares many attributes of this his father and his mother. Damian can most definitely be a little bratty, arrogant and down right a prick but this is the son if Batman after all so you kinda have to expect that from him. This line up movies really makes Damian one of the best characters (if not the best) characters in this line up of DCAMU movies adapting the New 52 Reboot comics. Damian goes on quite a good character arc and seeing his more emotional and vulnerable side to him after restricting his feelings and losing out on a real childhood, you can understand why it takes time for him to grow

When first watching these films I was hoping that they would evolve Damian into a better character that we can root for to become the next Robin and I feel like we were maybe getting there until Justice League vs Teen Titans where they regressed him making the first half of that film difficult to muscle through.
I haven't seen some of the last films in this continuity like Apokolips War and so maybe they've done well with him there, but as of right now I much prefer the likable versions of him we get in Batman vs Ninja Turtles and the animated Injustice.
Sidenote: I know people are gonna come in with their differences by bringing up Damian's backstory but remember that that might explain his behavior but does not excuse it 🤨.

In the comics there are four main Robins; Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne, in that order. There are a few other smaller Robins like Stephanie Brown or Jarro, but they’re the main four. In this Universe, Jason and Tim don’t exist, they just went from Dick to Damian.

One of the things that you guys will start to noticed is whenever Batman is with the Justice League, his suit is always black and gray but whenever he’s not with them, his suit is an almost dark grayish blue color. I was always glad that they kept that consistent with these movies.

I'm a big fan of Deathstroke, so I find it a bit disappointing that this movie series really underwhelmed the character's true potential.
In the comics, the guy in a nutshell is equivalent to a Super Assassin Batman.

It implies that Deathstroke can't even beat a child without becoming a superhuman. Sure, Damien is nothing like an average kid, but he is still a person who isn't even puberty strong yet. Deathstroke before he got his powers in the comics was still just as skilled and arguably as strong as Batman was.

Technically speaking there's two other Robins in the forms of young Bruce Wayne, for some reason, and Bruce Wayne Jr. but both are pretty niche. The former is comics only and the latter was in both comics and the Brave/Bold cartoon admittedly briefly.

Hey boys, just wanted to give some context on the robin situation. Historically in the comics, there’s been 5 main robins. Dick grayson was first later becoming nightwing. Then Jason Todd, who was voted to get killed off by fans, later becoming RedHood. Then there’s Tim Drake, the only robin to figure out who Batman is FIRST. Known to be the worlds second greatest detective. Then there’s Damian wayne, (my fav) He’s as you learn through this movie Batman’s reluctant child, so badass. Then there’s Stephanie Brown / Carrie Kelly. They are both female robins and badass, Carrie kelly you met in the Dark Knight Returns pt 1 and pt 2. I lumped them together because they’re both pretty recent and don’t have too much content about them in comics. Hope this helped! love the reactions to this series of animated movies they’re so sick. Can’t wait to see what you guys think of Justice Leage : Apocolypse War. And if u guys want a cool stand alone movie! “Batman by gaslight” imagines batman during the times of Jack the Ripper. Pretty recent? Carrie was created before Tim lol. Aside from a handful of cameos, she doesn't exist in the main continuity. Also Robin is practically a footnote in Stephanie's history as Spoiler and Batgirl are way more important to her story

Dick is the first Robin and Bruce’s eldest son. All the other robins (depending on the timeline) are, dead (Jason Todd) moved on (Red Robin, Batgirl/Spoiler), retired etc.. Dick is always a constant. As much as Dick doesn’t want it, most of us know he would be the best choice for the next Batman.

Just to answer a question you guys had - yes, Damian appearing is quite a few years into Bruce’s time as Batman. Just to put it into perspective - he did this solo for a number of years. Then Dick was Robin for like 10 years. Then Jason for like 3-4 yrs (you saw him in Under the Red Hood), and then Tim Drake was Robin for like 4-5 years. Stephanie Brown briefly took up the mantle during one of his “off” periods for like 70 days before Tim Drake returned and re-took the position.
Damian’s run (without getting too in to it) actually coincides with Tim’s in the beginning. I have NO idea why but Tim Drake is rarely animated/represented in movies despite having quite the unique career. Even during times when he’s actually around (canonically) he’s not included for whatever reason ie. Under the Red Hood actually occurs during his early run as Robin. Literally one of the reasons Jason is so pissed is because he felt replaced by Tim who became Robin six months after his death. I think he’s literally only been animated twice despite his character having been around since the late 80’s.)
from red hood: the pit can ressurect the dead but it can cause problems depending on one handles it, for ras case for hundreds of years he lived this long so they aint sure whats the repurcussions on him if brought back from the dead.

If you guys continue watching this continuity, you may notice that Damien actually seems to get weaker as the story progresses. In this movie he's kicking around a guy who's four times Damien's mass like it's nothing, or matching Slade in strenght in a sword fight. In later movies, he shows less and less rediculous feats of strenght. There's a theory that Ra's or Talia was dosing Damien with some kind of steroid or Super-soldier serum.

In some versions of Deathstroke is that he was supposed to be the head of the demon after Ra’s al Gal but before Slade’s succession was complete, Ra’s discovered The dark knight: The Batman and chose him to be the demon’s head and marry his daughter.
If I recall, as far as Robins go in the main continuity, Dick was first, then Jason Todd, then Tim Drake, then Damian. Though in the DCAU they seem to have jumped right from Dick to Damian.

The official and canonic Robin in order are Dick Grayson(later Nightwing), Jason Todd(later RedHood, seen in Batman under the Redhood), Tim Drake(later Red Robin) and Damian Wayne, still only Robin (offen take bad decisions). An other famous sidekick is Batgirl aka Barbara Gordon, daughter of Gordon(Batgirl, then Oracle). Dick is a founder member of the Teen Titans, the first Robin and one of the most popoular and well known characters

Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne are the main Robins, in that order. Dick is who you know from Teen Titans and Young Justice who becomes Nightwing, Jason was the one killed with a crowbar by The Joker and became Red Hood, Tim Drake is the most disrespected and forgotten one because the comics moved onto Damian way too quick (but he is the main one in the Arkham games, where is still kinda disrespected), Damian is the youngest.
Jason was actually the first Robin viewed as a son by Batman, that precedent retroactively changed Dick from a young ward who could have been Batman's little brother age wise to his son. Damian is his only biological child in current canon.
The DCAMU is based on The New 52 which despite being a reset is a little further in every main hero's story. But the other Robins don't exist in these movies.
Dick Grayson (nightwing) is essentially the teen titans' robin when he was younger
The dark Knight trilogy breaks Cannon due to the fact Bruce was trained by the League of assassins to become Batman that's not how Batman origin generally goes. Bruce disappears at a young age to return as the Batman then bruce later runs into the league of assassins and training he received is to replace Ra's al ghul as demons head.

Dick Grayson probably the one that features the most is because of legacy. the 1940's batman serials had Grayson as robin, the adam west batman had grayson, the dcau was mostly grayson and eventually had drake towards the end to bring in more kids, the teen titans, and the live action joel schumacher had grayson. talking about literally decades of live action and animation as just having Grayson as robin and is quite literally the only robin some generations know existed so they never introduce the successors in new projects to avoid confusion.

In mainline comic continuity, as well as some works based on it, Dick Grayson becomes the first Robin, grows into teenhood, then becomes Nightwing. Then comes in Jason Todd, who becomes the second Robin, dies, gets resurrected, and then becomes the Red Hood. Third is Tim Drake, who becomes Red Robin later on. Then you get to Damian, Bruce's son, who takes on the Robin mantle.
There are other Robins, but they're usually in Elseworlds stories, like The Dark Knight Returns with Stephanie Brown.
There have also been a few Batgirls. Besides Babara Gordon, there was one girl named Cassandra Cain, who, like Damian, was raised to be an assassin, but she jad appeared quite some time before him. What was really unique about her, though, is that, instead of being taught how to read, write, or even speak a language, she was taught the "Language of Violence", wherein she could read a person's intent through their tics and mannerisms. She had become Batgirl after her first kill, when the dying breath of her mark traumatized her, and she ran away to use her skills for good, hence why she joined up with Batman.

Man-Bat is an actual Batman villain, usually Dr. Kirk Langstrom (the scientist in charge of making it for Slade) messes up an experiment and turns himself into that. This movie is evidently set after that happened and he has cured himself. That’s why Batman instantly calls them Man-Bats, it’s not just a cheesy line

Glad you noticed how much Batman Damian is as Robin, because there was a shift attempted in a storyline where Bruce is pressumed dead and Nightwing takes up the mantle as the new and second Batman. The robin order goes Richard Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne. Its gets murky after that and we get Stephanie Brown, Carrie Kelley and some others in one offs or brief appearances.

So these first two JL and Batman movies have a really wierd adaptation ethos: the batman ones loosly adapt one story with elements of others while the JL ones do adaptaions of then recent stories but do changes that would be fine on their own but when you put the JL and Batman movies together they don't line up properly even tho they're made by 90% the same people
I don't like how people call Damian a "brat" he was raised by an terrorist organisation, how else do you expect him to act? His character has went through so much development since his introduction in 2006

6th Robin: Duke Thomas, The Signal and is the only member of family who has superpowers, works during the day, was in a bobbin of Robins**
7th/3rd Robin: Carrie Kelly, Robin in The Dark Knight Returns timeline where she was the third Robin, when Bruce comes returns to Gotham she becomes Batgirl

Optimistic that this means you'll potentially be following up these movies with *Batman TAS* , and then diving further into the "Timm-Verse" DCAU. Definitely worth doing!
One thing one never does is try to being back a soul after death with the pit. Because it damages it, never brings it back whole. So if you ever see any dc character brought back by the pit, expect... Changes...
Batman looks relatively new in Justice League War because he is notoriously hard to contact or locate. heroes like the flash talk about him like he was a myth because no one other than the bad guys and the police of Gotham knew he was real. But this Batman has been going at it for years by the time War took place.
