    Great review Alex!
I agree with others in the comments, having no 2.0 turbo option is a huge miss. That is an awesome motor.

As the current owner of a '20 Honda Accord Touring 2.0T, I have eagerly been awaiting the redesign of the Accord. I could not be more disappointed in finding out that the 2.0T engine option has been dropped. I am not interested in a slower model. In fact, I was hoping for an even faster model Accord than what I currently have. I have been a lifetime Honda/Acura fan and owner. I have owned 8 Acuras and 10 Hondas. For the first time in my life, I'm not certain that either make will be my next car, which is incredibly disappointing to me. I had a '16 Acura TLX Advance that I replaced with my Accord Touring. Would have purchased a newer TLX but was disappointed that the 2.0T model was considerably less roomy and slower than the Accord 2.0T. The TLX Type S is nice but does nothing to fix the issue of roominess and gets horrendous gas mileage. I am seriously ticked off that Honda/Acura seems to be abandoning me, a long time core customer. Bought a 2019 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid in 2019 and I"m still impressed by it. The navigation system is almost as good as Google Maps and a whole lot easier to use in the car. It drives and rides well. It has won a Top-10 Rating with Car and Driver Magazine for over 20-years. It could use a bit more road noise insulation. After destroying a tire in Utah, I bought a spare tire kit online ($278, Honda Parts wanted over $500) and carry it with me only on trips. The 48/48 MPG is real except in our Colorado winters where it drops to about 45 MPG due to the engine running more frequently to keep the cabin warm. Wish it were available with a bigger battery or plug-in version. The battery charges from zero to full in just a mile of two of down-mountain driving, thereby missing out on all that lost potential energy that lies in the 10-miles ahead. When the snow is deep or there's ice on the roads, we drive my wife's RAV4 AWD Hybrid.

Like many others, I am pretty bummed to see the demise of the 2.0T.
When Honda gave the axe to the classic V6 in the 10th gen variants I was okay with it because the 2.0T could hold its own.
But downgrading the outgoing generation to this current generation with a 1.5T is a clear statement that Honda had no option to go with a higher performance option.
From how I understand the early model years of the 10th gen had quite a few problems with their 1.5T including head gasket issues. Evidently around the 2020 model year they made some changes and that powertrain became a more steady selection in the accord lineup.
I'm guessing due to a bit more increase in fuel eco and the fact that the smaller engine was cheaper, consumers kept going for the 1.5T?
I don't know. It's just unfortunate because if I ever did upgrade my current Accord, I wouldn't have the option to purchase a 2.0T Powertrain.
I mean it is what it is. Nothing's going to change what they've decided - just unfortunate because you've taken one more group of demographics out of the mix for this next gen. Now it will just be the hybrid-goers and the lowest-price seekers. But in the end, I suppose I understand. When push comes to shove, it’s all about revenue and where the current is flowing. It’s just more of a surprise - that I know I probably shouldn’t be surprised by.
For me it was a nice family hauler that had some desirable performance. Guess this will be one more model that I will scratch off my list to watch reviews on.
The style isn't bad. The latter 9th gen and the early 10th gen styles were my favorite. Honda did a great job with those. This is is more of a "take it or leave it" kind of style.
The conventional shifter doesn't make much difference for me. My Camry has a Conventional and my Accord has the SBW shifter. I can drive both without a problem.
Bigger screen, some updated tech... Nothing that necessarily blows my mind away.
As always, love the great job Alex does. I'll be surprised if Honda does, indeed, proceed with a 12th gen. And if they do, it wouldn't surprise me if the touring trim got an EV powerplant.🤪

2.0T didn’t sell much but dealers also didn’t order/buy them often. While worth it, it was a $4500 add-on that not many could or wanted to pay. That and Honda didn’t advertise it. On the Sport trim it was MUCH more than just an engine option, including blind spot and some other things.

I know this is niche but I’m so happy Honda finally put LED turn signals in the rear. It’s been one of my major gripes of the 10th Gen, cos the Camry had full LED’s all round. - The front and rear, I prefer the G11.
      - The side, I prefer the G10.

      - The full LED taillights and the wider center touch screen give the car a more modern and expensive look.
      - But the front bonnet struts, trunk lid struts, rear headrests and door panels are ugly cost reductions.
      - The TOYOTA Vios's turn signal is a LED sequential. Vios is a cheaper car.
      - Camry and Accord in America are too cheap. This makes it impossible to put luxury to the fullest. The ASEAN version of the Camry ACV50 and Accord G9 are more luxurious than the American version. When the American version of the Camry ACV70 and Accord G10 was sold in ASEAN, there were complaints about luxury.(high price as ACV50 and G9)

Dropping the 2.0T is a very short sighted move. Its not like they didn't sell. I believe it was upwards of 20-25% of the mix because Honda allowed it on the Sport 2.0 and moved it to standard on Touring models. My gut tells me they did this because the Acura TLX exists and the Accord was a slightly better buy in some regards(especially interior space) with similar performance.
I will reserve judgment on the overall styling, but the front end comes across initially as anonymous but the older car was getting longer in the tooth. Hate it when manufacturers make safety equipment optional or force you to buy a more expensive model to get it. What is with all the people missing the 2.0T? If as the narrator says it was sales figures, then why are there so many commenters that want it? This could prove costly for Honda if they lose sales because of it. Maybe they felt the 2.0T was stealing sales from their Acura line? I am not a fan of the ever increasing tire sizes and especially the low profile ones. I think the front end is kinda bland, but the rear looks really nice. Not a bad design. I think there's something to be said for the minimalist look, and I think it will grow on me in time.
The interior looks phenomenal. Super happy with that. Very disappointed that there won't be the 2.0T 10 speed, but it's not much of a surprise. I preordered a 23 touring a few months ago, so when it comes in I'll keep an open mind to the hybrid 2.0 and see how it drives.
The AWD not being offered isn't a surprise, Honda sticks with the simplicity and lower maintenance costs. No panoramic sunroof isn't a surprise either. The addition of a proper sound system with the Bose audio was much needed and is a huge plus.
Overall, I think Honda hit it out of the park with this. I am disappointed about the abandonment of the 2.0T 10 speed, as are many others. But it really was a niche market. And this change was inevitable. I hope that others are willing to keep an open mind to the accord. You speak of the paucity of sedans avail le these days, bit it is not surprising. I am a die hard sedan guy yet i recently bought a cuv and I left my civic behind. I was tired of "sitting on the ground" and needing a hoist to get in and out of the vehicle. Sedans from the 60s thru 90s were a bit higher off the ground and had higher hip points than sedans now. As well, the slot opening for sedan trunks now is just not utile....my cuv does not have that much more cubic feet available in the hatch than the sedan but the hatch makes it far more practical. The short deck/ low roof lines of current sedans coupled with the low hip point, imo, is driving the shift away from sedans. I know it is so in my case. If car makers want us back in the sedan fold, make them practical as they used to be.....sure, they may not be as swoopy looking but that is for the stylists and designers to fix.

Every new car I've owned for the past 27 years has been a Honda Accord. I was pretty excited about the new 2023 until I looked at the new trim levels. I cannot understand why Honda would reserve the hybrid drivetrain for only the higher trim levels. How are fuel efficiency and luxury are related? My second Accord had a leather interior but I found leather to be less comfortable in both hot and cold weather, so I switched back to cloth for subsequent purchases. Now apparently I can't get a hybrid Accord with a cloth interior since the EX-L is the entry into the hybrid models. This is baffling and frustrating. I also don't like the additional length, which appears to be only for appearance. And on the topic of appearance, I really dislike the "cheese grater" dash feature. It looks gimmicky and difficult to clean and more at home in a Civic. I much prefer the more cockpit-like layout of pre-2023 models. It was a good run, but I think my next car will be something other than an Accord.

@@ayushmalpeddi2793 I have no interest in the Sport model. It wasn't even a consideration. I don't want goofy looking trim, reduced fuel economy, and rougher ride over real roads due to the 19 inch wheels. I bought Accords for the intelligent design and the nice blend of comfort, decent handling, and economy. You could opt for the efficient hybrid at any trim level. Again, efficiency is not a luxury feature. Hybrids are reported to be more popular than ever, so what an odd time to remove it as an option from half of their sales (by their estimation). They've likely lost a very loyal customer. That should be a concern for any company.

@@podunkis goofy looking trim? It’s the same trim just black generally. Also you could just buy the sport trim and swap the wheels for a smaller diameter ones. You’re blowing the problem out of proportion. Worst case buy a CRV sport. That seems to be what you are looking for.

One thing I do like, though: they got rid of the push-button shifter controls in favor of a real shifter.

@@pawelkilian3890 I agree. I find it easy to use, even without looking at the buttons. You can feel the different shapes. I also like the openness of no shift nob in the center console. But. . . evidently some people couldn't get used to it. :(

Didnt honda just release accord few years ago?!
    No 2l turbo
Honda is slipping , if toyota put the 2.4 l turbo in the new gen camry; accord is dead
Also tue interior is basically very similar to the current mazda 6 !!

True, especially considering that the rest of the competition has either a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine or a V6 as options at least.

If the Camry got the 2.4t it won’t be dead because the turbo doesn’t perform that well

I was waiting for the 11th generation to be available and I was hoping to get a 2.0T now I have to go now and grab a 10th gen with the 2.0T😭 feel like Honda might add the 2.0T if we complain enough
