I have been really enjoying your videos. I especially like their simplicity and your light humor. I really like that they aren't too long, just enough to view along with my morning coffee. I have been contemplating buying the GG One, and your reviews have been most helpful. Take care.
Welcome back Hans , your channel is one of favourites on RUclips . I’m glad your shoulder injury is healed . Your videos really resonate for me in terms of gear used , hiking style , camp style and Terrain . I’d love to visit the areas you hike one day . I also appreciate the care you take over audio choices and filmic style . If I’m not out on a full day hike , Saturday mornings have 2 hours of RUclips videos after my morning walk , it’s always good to see a new upload on your channel
Hi Hoboesque, thanks for the very kind words. I'm putting a lot of hours into editing these RUclips videos, It mens a lot to me, with a subscriber that appreciate the videos - thanks. Nice that you to watch RUclips after a good walk 😊
Hans, very good to see your videos again, living in a country (🇧🇷) with such different passages I feel fascinated watching your adventures! Thanks for sharing! Regards from Brazil
Welcome back Hans! I’ve missed your beautiful scenery and dead pan humor haha. So glad to hear your shoulder is feeling better. I’ll be hiking the John Muir Trail 🏔 beginning on August 2 and was debating using the 0.6L BeFree + an overflow reservoir too, but I decided to flip it around and use a 700mL sports bottle and a 3L BeFree so that I can mix electrolytes and maybe some honey in the 700mL which will be accessible on the front strap of my pack using a Zpacks bottle clip. The trade off is that it’s maybe a little more difficult keeping it from freezing. I love the LT5 trekking poles too but was surprised to see yours without the basket in the snow haha. UL! Take care Hans! Congrats on the GG Two! 🏕 Thanks for the great, entertaining, and beautiful content.
Hi Junker - thanks for the kind words it means a lot to me... I love the BeFree, I was using the 1 liter and had it in a small cuben stuff sack from Zpacks, and had it inside my quilt, during the nighttime - it worked, and my quilt didn't get wet. I was surprised by the snow, so I didn't bring the snow basket. Great with the John Muir Trail - I should be one of the most beautiful hikes in the world 🏕 let me know how it turns out 💁
@@hanskirk-hiking9697 I have two extra lottery slots for August 2 from Tuolumne Meadows if you wanted one to join up for some of it or if you wanted to solo vlog. 😉
@@hanskirk-hiking9697 Of course. I was lucky to win that lottery! I’m leaving my car at Whitney Portal and have a shuttle up to Mammoth and will stay there 7/31 through 8/1 to acclimate to the altitude. Then the YART bus leaves in the morning from Mammoth to Tuolumne. Not as complicated as what you just did! So something to think about. Otherwise I will have to just give the position up to standby hikers. Take care!
Thank you for taking the time to post these wonderful videos; I just discovered your channel! I am wondering if you would consider reviewing your Zpack Arc Haul? I have the same one, but from the video shots, yours seems to better centred - carrying the load much better than mine. I struggle to prevent my stays from bending to the outside of the pack, causing a drift in weight from the centre of my back. Keep up the awesome vlogging and know your work is much appreciated, Andrew
Thanks very much Andrew for the nice feedback. Yes you are right it is bit of a struggle to get the Arc Haul to fit just right - sometimes I don't have the stays bending. Maybe I one day will make a review of it - thanks again. 💁😊
@@hanskirk-hiking9697 I will watch for your future videos. I use the Gossamer - The One Tent as well and I struggle with condensation. I can relate with your efforts to manage the moisture! Safe travels. Andrew

i guss that the weight of the GG The One is the reason for using this tent, if weight is not an issue one should bring a double wall tent 💁
Nice trip Hans. In this condition i never use the Altra Lone Peak. I take my Lundhags boots. Nice tent, is this the gosammergear the 2?
Hi Raymond, thanks - you are right about the Lone Peak, but the weather was a surprise 💦 it is the GG TheOne 💁

Yes the weight was my reason for purchasing it - in the proces of making a review about - stay tuned 😊
