It is because of Balvenie 12yr Double Wood that I consider myself a whisk(e)y fan. This was my first scotch that I really enjoyed. And where I understood the complexity of whisk(e)y. I have since enhanced my appreciation for whiskey. Also thanks to discovering your channel and learning more about whiskey. (Love the channel btw. Keep up the great work.)
Honestly, Balvenie was actually like the fifth or sixth Scotch that I tried, and found that I love the Balvenie brand more than most of the others. Glad to see it holds a place in the rack. If you like this one... Try the 21 year old Portwood!
We all have a different take on these things. I bought some today for the first time. And yes, it has a very fresh, clean taste. More than other Scotchs I've tasted. Sweet is dominant, pepper is present on the finish. It has a great mouth feel. I don't know if I'll buy more, but I know I will enjoy this bottle at the very least.
Hi everyone, today I bought my first Balvenie Doublewood 12 and I found out, that my bottle have only 40% ABV instead 43% like others. Do you know if they changed production process or what just happend? (I live in the Czech republic - EU). Maybe there are some other rules for whisky but the EU cannot change the recipe of the Scotch....
Found this because I was curious what you thought of Balvenie because Critical Role had a 21 year old Balvenie and were getting chewed out for putting it in Coca-Cola.

Same. I liked whisky from glenorangie 10, but the belvanie 12 is what made me fall in love.
I have this one at home. I agree it does get overlooked. I always forget it's there and then I try it and it's so good.

Yes! A perfect comparison. Alison Krauss is amazing and this reference was spot on.
Stumbled across this upload when viewing the Balvenie reviews. One of the best advent reviews....sorry I didn't see it sooner Daniel!!!!
That's crazy I said Allison Krauss before you even said her name. You nailed this one!
2:38 a true Whisky Vault Golden moment! Your welcome tribe in advance 10/10 !😀🎼
He hit it on the head when he stated trying other whisky's but Balvenie is my favorite
Just did a tasting with 12 yr doublewood, the 17 yr doublewood and 14 yr Caribbean cask...the 12 yr was the best BY FAR!
I need to go back and watch all these again and add the artists/songs to my Pandora list.
I always suggest this as an entry point in to scotch for bourbon lovers.
I hate bourbon and LOVE this whisky
Balvenie 12 is my favorite. Caribbean 14 is very nice as well but I like the double wood more.
Balvenie 12 Doublewood with just a smidge or two of Glenfiddich 12. I could be here for a while
Could you feature the 15 yr sherry cask?
Cheers !
