  • I used to have TERRIBLE mental game on the Golf course. I thought because I could keep my cool and didn’t throw around my clubs that I had nothing to worry about. After a few rounds with ‪@GolfSidekick‬, he informed me of some key mental flaws I have in my golf game.
From course management to bouncing back from mistakes, I’ve spent the last 6 months working incredibly hard on improving this aspect of my Golf. In this 9 holes, I break down what I learned, as well as shooting one of my best scores over 9.

Thanks man! Yeah… I’m not a scratch golfer or a golf coach, but I’ve been through it all. Hopefully people can relate to the struggles I went through 😊

Sorry I disagree with rule #3. When you are in birdie range (inside 20’) you should be trying to hole the ball and have pace that gets the ball past the hole. From inside 10’ pros leave the ball short 1 out of 100 times. From 10-20’ it’s one out of 10. A ball that’s short or low has no chance of going in. Until 2 weeks ago I was in your camp, but after watching a podcast about GameForge that Matty Boom Boom posted. I realized that I was not giving most of my putts inside 20’ a chance. On these putts you should have the speed control to get the ball past the ball but leaving an easy tap in.

On shorter putts, I’m reducing the size of the ‘zone’ I want to aim for. As you can see, I’m holing WAY more putts that way!
However… Golf is different for everyone so I appreciate your comment! ❤️

@@SamKingGolf I agree I was in your camp it was the one thing I disagreed with Matt on. But I started keeping track of putts and I found that I was leaving 40% of my 10-20’ putts short as I was concentrating on no three putts and also realized I was missing most putts on the low side. I started trying to be a little more aggressive and playing my miss on the high side. I’m converting 2-3 more putts a round with no increase in 3 putts. But even with 3 conversions if I had one extra 3 putt, I’m still two shots ahead. For those length putts with good speed contra the circle can be moved with the front at the center of the hole. Like i said. I’ve been trying to avoid 3 putts but I’m starting to realize that it’s costing me one putts than the 3 putts I’m avoiding.
