@@RoadRacin717 I know this comment is old but how reliable has the V111 been for you, I keep hearing horror stories of the V111 only making it about 2500 miles before total engine failure.
none of it because that is how you tune a real bike. only stupid fuel injection is like that until it does my job. then you rev it up too. build a motor correctly and it is just about ready to go right off the bat. tatro
has nothing to do with the tune, or if it's carbed or FI, it's about head gasket failure, from S&S - "Initial start up. Run engine approximately one minute at 1250- 1750 rpm. DO NOT crack throttle or subject to any loads during this period as head gaskets are susceptible to failure at this time." Graphite head gaskets on these engines, not MLS
just goes to show you how much a piece of crap these new motors are. the cylinders are so thin and the fasteners are so flimsy that you have to have everything just right or it fails. its simple, use more cast iron in the cylinders and less flimsy aluminum so that things will stay stably and sealed tight. look at my race bike, all cast iron and seals just fine with 4 big head bolts and no gaskets. tons of nitrous oxide, nitromethane and detonation, no problem. no gasket leaks but lots of burned pistons. make it strong and you can do whatever you want with it. do any of this crap with a new motor and you will be wearing it. tatro
***** yea, that is what a custom pipe looks like these days. it was designed by a computer to make power. we will see.it is being riden around at the shows now. will see it again down the road.tatro
Just figure out a way to get that motor. You can install that motor on any Hog from 84 to 99. I want to find a 99 Heritage and replace the slow 80 inch motor with a polished S &S 111
@@Popwarner-x1w i posted that like 3 years ago. I ended up with a 2020 low riders S, with a fully built 128" 140hp, 150tq, legends suspension etc. it was between that or an FXR.
sunnyReviews let's see, 10 for a bike, toss most of it, 10 to 12 on the power train, 2-3 for wheels and tires, the same for brakes, 1 or so each for the hand and foot controls, 1 for custom exhaust, another 2 or so for the electrical, probable 3, 1 for custom brackets. 4+ plus for paint, some more for custom body work,,,I am getting tired, time for a nap.tatro
rruiz311 lots. keep it simple, 3/7/8" big bore kit, mild or mid-range cam, 42mm mikuni carb and ign or injection upgrade with a good set of slip-on muffler's. if you have a little extra get the heads worked on. this should get you in the 90-100 hp range. that would make a good street bike. if you need more then that then toss the motor and get a big s&s motor and be done with it. tatro
I have a T111 in my 06 electra glide with vance and hines pro pipe...chris waddell of Cycle Solutions installed a Thundermax tuner in it...tuned it ...puts out 115 hp and tq at 6300 rpm...sounds like a bb chevy...
You can fit wide tires for styling easily enough. I prefer handling so I don't inflict them on my FXRs. Get a recent Dyna instead for what you want to do. There's zero reason to pay more for an FXR then fuck up the handling when you can pay less for a much more common bike with better parts availability.
What size are those risers? They look awesome!
That square S&S 111 is awesome sounding.

Not if you build it yourself. You could build this bike with a titanium frame for 30 or a little less.
