"Rockin´ Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu" is a song originally written and recorded by Huey "Piano" Smith.
"Turning to Crime" is the first studio album by Deep Purple entirely made of songs not written by the band and previously recorded by other artists. It is produced by Bob Ezrin and will be released on earMUSIC on November 26th, 2021.
Turning To Crime follows the release of "Whoosh!", a studio album saluted by prestigious chart achievements (3rd consecutive #1 in Germany, as well as well as #4 in the UK); it was acclaimed by critics praising its creative strength and the band´s evolution with every release. Whoosh is the latest in the band’s "time trilogy", consisting of "NOW What?!", "inFinite" and "Whoosh!" (2013, 2017 and 2020).
The 3 albums have sold over 1 million copies, topped the charts 11 times and achieved more than forty Top 10 positions worldwide.

In fairness, their cover of "Roadhouse Blues" a few years back was absolutely dreadful and was probably at the front of most people's minds.

@@wmprods5868 What I've heard so far from "Turning To Crime" has been very impressive indeed. I look forward to hearing more tracks in the near future, but so far I've already added this album to the list of what I need to add to my collection, along with Purpendicular, Bananas ànd The Rapture Of The Deep.

Love the songs the band has written over the years, but I think this was a great idea since they couldn't get together to write during the Pandemic. And I love the "turning to crime" concept. My album should be here on Monday. This song is great, and I'm dying to hear the rest. DP is the best. Always!!!

Sí, pero este tema no lo crearon ellos sino Huey Smith en 1957, bastante antes de que ni siquiera existieran como banda. La versión más reconocida y, personalmente creo que la mejor, es de Johnny Rivers en 1972.

Great song. As a 10/11 year old boy, then a big Sweet fan, I bought the first two Purple LPs (Powerhouse and Made in Japan) with my pocket money. That was around 1975. I've been a big fan since then. I own all LP's and CD's released in Germany. The new 'Turning to Crime' has also been pre-ordered. It's great that there are still bands from the 60s / 70s today who at least still master their craft.
