This Car was my first Car that I have owned, 1986 Chevy Celebrity. Then I bought another Celebrity, this time a 1989 Euro Sport, fully loaded used from Avis Car Rental and Sales in San Jose, Ca. I loved these Cars, then I got into Taxi Cab Driving and Started in the 1989 Chevy Caprice, then into a 1993 and 1996 Chevy Caprice. After using GM Products, I fell in love with the Ford Crown Victoria's. Owned 4 Different Crown Vics while in the Taxi Business. My last Crown Vic was the 2012 Vic and sold it to a friend and got into a 2014 Ford Fusion Sport. The Ford Vic's were my all time Favorite Cars. Although the Chevy Celebrity was my first and still like them.
Thank you for sharing your great find! My wife and I had a 1988 Celebrity and I loved that car and always have missed it. Brought our first baby girl home from the hospital in it. Great memories. When I put snow tires on it (Washington state), it handled really nice with great weight distribution.
Had a white 89 with a v6 and a 5sp manual, man your video brings back memories. Drivers side air vent on mine was broken exactly the same. HAD to get an aftermarket stereo though, original one was just AM/FM IIRC. It’s weird, but I love these cars.
My grandfather bought an 89 the year I grad high school. It sat in a dry barn it's whole life.he just gave it to me . 26000 original miles. Mint condition. Thanks gramps!
I was randomly watching car videos here in the Uk, when I remembered the hire car my parents hired when we went to my cousins wedding in Canada, in 1986. It was a Chevrolet Celebrity Eurosport. Never seen one since, as they didnt sell them in the UK. Nice to see one again.
Very cool! My girlfriend back in the late 90s had one exactly like this and she was very nice and let me drive it all the time. Total Flashback! Anyway nice work, thanks for sharing.
Nice I inherited my grandma's 89 Pontisc 6000 LE white 2.5 with 53,000 in 2003. Drove it daily till 2011 it had 180,000 miles when I sold it. Everything still worked the a/c crusie door locks great car never had problems with it.
Man, this brings back memories. I had a light blue one, looked the same inside but with velour seats. My first car. Tried to get it back and found out a heroine junkie had it crushed.
Was my first car too. white one. unfortunatley i had it for only 3 months. at the speed of 70mph it felt like the tyres and whole car is about to fall apart. in winter the heater wasnt good atall. i was like comeone u have 6 cylinders, give some of the engine heat inside. but all it did was some semi warm flow. all in all was a terrible experience. let alone friends and family made fun of me too. im taling about 10 years ago btw
@@annakessler9372you might have had a bad thermostat, I cheaped my way through not having mine replaced for a few winters until a particularly bad winter showed me it's a safety issue and I had the thermostat replaced to get good heat. The way I knew is that the engine temperature took a long time to rise. But maybe also a clogged heater core.
Love it! My parent’s 1988 Celebrity 2.8 Eurosport became my first car in the late 90’s. Same silver color but it had the burgundy interior; man if that thing could talk!!
That's actually pretty cool! I'd always read about and heard stories that a lot of these cars ended up in the middle east, and as such they've been kept alive and working there.
Beautiful Car! I love this era of GM! I love the Wedge Shape Futurism of the 80’s! I wish I could time travel and buy one and bring it back with me! Those Sharp Lines and “Glass” Headlights! My level of Technology!😮
I love this car. I bought my first 1984 Chevrolet Celebrity after h.s. I got my second Chevrolet Celebrity 1 yr later. It was a 1988 Celebrity Celebrity Eurosport 2.8 MFI. Greatest car ever built by GM.
I used to have a 88 celebrity CL with 2.8 V6.... I bought it from the original owner... it was AN AWESOME CAR. Wish I still had it. Comfortable, cool. It was the dark blue, 4 door. Ugh I love these cars still.
I just brought my mom' 88 Chevy Celebrity back to life after 19 years of just sitting around. It has 74, 500 miles. It's now registered as a classic and I will only be able to drive 5,000 miles a year. It's grey with rust , good body. I plan to paint it Burgandy with gold trim. May take awhile until I have it the way I want it. All original parts including hubcaps.
Reminds me of my dad's 1990 Celebrity Eurosport he bought back in 1996, was white with a red interior and had the 3.1 V6 which came only in the 1990 model year. Was in a wreck the following year and traded it for a red 1991 Pontiac Sunbird.
Great video! Seeing the PBR sign toward the end made me thirsty! I laughed when you said "I don't know why someone would donate this car." and then went though a long list if things that you fixed that certainly justifies why someone donated the car. In hindsight, I wish I would have bought one of these when they were in production.
Got rid of my 89 brown celebrity last year. Was my first car had it 19 years, same 2.5l noisy but durable. All 2.5l had those common up keep items. Gorgeous car congrats.
The first car I remember from my childhood was my mom's blue 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic. I just remembered wanting one of these Eurosport Celebrities because it looked like a smaller version of my mom's car.
Still driving my 1987, bought it for $1000 two years ago. She's got some rust but completely vintage, complete with the factory AM radio. I love this car, smartest money I've spent.
i owned 2 celebrity's a 89 sedan and a 87 wagon and they were so hard to find parts for when i was 16 and 19 lol. the sedan was my first car, our neighbor gave it to us
Wow I never thought I would Ever see one of these again. I got one back in 99 and it had a Lot of Body Rot on the doors around the Rubber strips So I restored it in my garage over the Summer it ran great and was a Detectives car
I've seen Eurosports with buckets, split bench and full solid bench like this...was there a different trim for the eurosport like LTZ for buckets LT for splitbench and regular old eurosport if you got the one piece bench?
@merlin noneyabeezwax I actually bought this exact car January 2020. It’s been a great car!! For a 33-year-old car. I did a heater core and a transmission pan gasket.
These are really good cars had a few chevy celebrities in the '90s especially with the 2.8 litre multi port small 6 pretty good on gas as well also lots of parts availability for these cars
I lived in an apartment that was right next to a Chevy dealership that was owned by my landlord back in the 1980s. I remember when he told me that they were discontinuing the Eurosport and would replace it with a model based on the Lumina. Let's just say I was very disappointed when I saw it.
I have a 1987 Pontiac 6000 S/E with the same engine and i just pulled some parts from a flooded 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity and was able to use the parts.
Oh man seeing this makes me wanna cry I miss my celebrity so bad I just recently lost mine I had an all original 1985 Chevrolet celebrity with the 2.8 V6 2 barrel carb I was the only one around that had that year model left most you see now days is the later on models that are still on the road but I lost the car to a garage fire and it just happened about 3 months ago or so if you want to see the car I want to see anything of it it's on my channel go check it out I have plenty of videos of it the car had been in the family since 86 I miss that car I've been trying so hard to find another one just like it or close to it if I could I would I would buy that car that one is in really good shape it look just like mine the paint on mine wasn't great it was faded used to be blue but faded it to a gray but yeah I really like this car would love to see more of it wish could buy the car these are soo so hard to find and you have the Eurosport that was the top of the line back then that you could get but I don't remember it having the 2.5 4 cylinder the Universe part was supposed to have the 3.1 V6 and all the other options power windows power door locks cruise control upgrade suspension and rims. But I will definitely be looking forward for more of this .
My dad had a 1987 pure white celebrity when we lived in Saudi Arabia. It had red interiors but the automatic transmission was on the floor with split front seats unlike this one.
I meant what I said. It's impossible to find a car from this era with no rust in my area. I live in south east Wisconsin where everything is more rust then steel.
@@BruisersBeaters no, its not impossible to find a rust free 1988 celebrity eurosport. I have one! Mine has the 2.8 L engine. all original with only 53456 actual (and honest) miles. Runs perfectly! It does need a paint job tho because the clear-coating is coming off in places. Also needs a radio and AC compressor.Overall, its a great car.
I love it, we had A LOT of these in Iraq.
My dad had one of these, really brings me back 👍
Really cool car. I love 80's GM like this one, alongside the Pontiac 6000 and Buick Century.

I looove me a Chevy Celebrity. I don’t know why but it’s one of my all time favorite cars. 👍
Me to. I literally love 80s gm cars. Some 90s also. Like fr bro. Give me a eurosport any day. Swap a s/c 3800 series in there and I'm out

I didn't even have to put my snow tires on mine this year, lol... (Spokane)

Wow very clean car! Those were known for rust issues here in the northeast but that right there is a gem!! Good luck with it!
Nice, my mom had an '88 white Celebrity Eurosport CL with dual exhaust and burgundy plush velor interior on the seats and doors!
That was my first car in 99'!!!! Loved it!!
i live in mass. and the salt air roys out the car (i live outside of boston). ps a rural vermonter, told me about your videos.
I bought my 78 beetle convertible from rawhide 11 years ago, still have it!
I were you able to get top dash heater louvers? Do you still own the car? I remember these cars well, I quite liked them back in the day

Should have been AM/FM Cassette with auto reverse if bone stock
Inherited one of these from my mom's Avon Lady right after high school. Car had plenty of punch of the line and rode like a couch.
I had a Chevrolet Celebrity but I do not recall which year. It had the 2.8 V6 but was an automatic. It was a great car.

My parents had a 1982 maroon 4 door, first year for the Chevy Celebrity. I wish I had it now.
If you ever decide to part ways with her , let me know , it was my first car , will be cherished here ! Cool car !
I thought you had to be one of those Hollywood celebrities to drive this beaut!
I had this same exact car, only a 1987 and mine had the 2.8L w/ 4 sp auto/OD. It was a good daily driver and super clean as well.
cool, I had 3. One was clean and barely ran & one was rusted out and drove well!
Do you still have this vehicle? I want to purchase one. Thank you for your time, Chris
My grandma has her old 88 as well. She wanted to sell it, but I told her not to and that I can repair it. Is it worth it to make into a sleeper?
if you blew that 2.8 v6, could you replace that engine with a 3.8 litre from a lesabre.
simply incredible i dream to have mine at least half condition of this one
