It's simple When Messi doesn't score, he assist. When he doesn't assist, he creates. When Ronaldo doesn't score, there's no Ronaldo. Ronaldo is a letal striker though, no space must be given to him. In summary, two amazing players performing two different roles. I'd rather Messi so far.

I remember seeing this game live on TV and it was a game I wanted to go to actually see in Barça - didn’t get to see el Clásico (in Camp Nou) until 2015 - oh how I wished I got my ticket in 2010, as I believe this was one of greatest exhibitions of football I have ever witnessed! This was a game pitting 2 football philosophies against each other.. Real with all their Galáctico individuals v Barça’s la Masía golden generation……..it was beautiful to see the generation not only win, but actually school the Madridistas on how to play football in its purest, most beautiful form.. Despite the great Messi not scoring in this match; these 7 minutes demonstrates how much more Messi is, than a goal machine! His ability to adapt into a classic number 10 role during the course of a match, and supply superb goal scoring passes to David Villa proves Messi’s worth to the side and shows that Messi’s mentality is about helping the team win, even if he’s not the one grabbing the scoring headlines. I will surely miss him when he retires but thank you for this great upload 🙏🏿👍🏿👊🏿👌🏿

I am grateful for being fortunate enough to watch this beautiful sport..Thank you to all the players that gave us a good time and good memories to cherish. You are highly appreciated
When gaurded he gives brilliant assists, when not guarded he stroms through defenders, he dribbles brilliantly, he finishes incredibly, his free kick almost every time hits the target, there is nothing much the opponent can do
Messi has that ADHD hyper focus playing style , when he’s in the zone nothing is stopping him , being able to control and harness something like that gives you a edge over “normal” players , same thing goes for education
Since he joined real madrid he has won 4 ucl in his 9 year madrid career. Messi is great and so is Ronaldo. Dont compare them. He even won international trophy, which btw messi is still trying to achieve. Just watch them in their final years, dont judge or compare. Feel lucky to even watch them in their last few years.
Ronaldo had 220 asisst in 2004-2020. He played 3 positions (Right Midfielder, Left Forward, Center Forward), for 3 clubs (MU, Madrid, Juve) in 3 leagues (England, Spain, Italy). Messi only played 1 position (Right Forward), for 1 club (Barcelona) in 1 league (Spain). Messi failed in national team while Ronaldo had 2 trophies in national team. Majority Messi goals scored with left foot from passing or dribbling. He rarely score from right foot and heading. He never score from backheel, volley and bicycle. Ronaldo did all of that.
@@teblax3086 Carried what? What have they achieved with players like Dybala, Higuain, Aguero, Di Maria, Martinez, Lo Celso. Akinathor he’s been playing the forward position his whole entire career lmao. If Ronaldo was never a midfielder he would be the best outside the box goal scorer ever 😂

He is truely a complete player. Arguments of the GOAT will always be tabled but when you watch Messi play, he's truly magical.

1:37 "No room for Complacency" Just the lesson Barca has forgotten. Huge losses against Roma and Liverpool would have never come and barca would have been holding their 3rd treble.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were the two best players of the last decade. Both dominated football and they pushed each other to new levels. The point is that Ronaldo with all his physical fitness is a total goalscorer . If he gets the ball on the field, he'll not spare the goal. He has different techniques than Messi and Of course, in the terms of athletics , He beats Messi. But the ways of them both playing are different, unique and special. Messi creates those plays for himself and makes ways independently on the field. Ronaldo, with all his hard work and techniques, is of course a real scorer in the field. But for Messi , He creates those ways by himself and most of his goals are solo shots, so That's inspiring. The way he scores it's extraordinary. People often are mistaken between a goalscorer and an assister, dribbler plus a scorer. So, Both of them in their ways are extraordinary. As for my opinion, I'll go with Messi. I respect Ronaldo too. If anybody is the greatest player of the world, Then they are both combined. They are both without doubt the best players of the world.
It was not just messi but the whole Barcelona team.. Each of those players was able to dribble and face the adversary, each of the was able to attack amd defend, each of those was able to run... it was one great team... It was poetry to watch them play...

Bayern would be thrashed just like this, Bayern's defence is as bad as Barcelona's now, since Barca's mf was weak they could score 8 in CL. With Iniesta and xavi in the mf, current bayern couldn't do much. And yeah, pep as manager is additional bonus for Barca.

When Messi doesn't score, he assist. When he doesn't assist, he creates.
When Ronaldo doesn't score, there's no Ronaldo.
Ronaldo is a letal striker though, no space must be given to him.

@seatlehiker: You're very correct with your analysis.
Well let's hope he creates some "chances" for Argentina soon
Parth Vyas he has been carrying them for many years. Not enough?
