  • My hand plane till was a little boring so I spiced it up with walnut.

I never put this amount of work into making my shop pretty, but I appreciate people who do. Your plane till is beautiful.

Lots of work but it was well worth the effort. The project came out amazing and there is lots of room for more planes.

Looks like it is time to head out to the stores, flea markets and yard sales because your rack is not full yet :) Nice work, it looks great.

Lots of cutting small pieces of walnut in order for the bottom to look like a floor. Seems it would have be time beneficial if you would have resawed pieces to fit the spaces between the spacers. Guess you wanted a certain look. But, the finish turned out nice. Pat on the back for that.

Has moisture levels caused the walnut "wood floor" planks to expand and contract and buckle in the tight spaces?

lebruh thats like the worst way to store planes it just takes up to much space

Couldn't watch because I don't like "wordless workshops" How about a little narration and heaven forbid, some dimensions.

All that work and no spacers under the shoe to keep the blade edge away from the bottom. Your planes will dull or always need to be reset in that unit. Also, why all the hand trimming when you own an incra?

There's an art to using handtools, and some like to keep that art alive. I know several woodworkers who don't use power tools at all. They use nothing but handtools to create their masterpieces.

You must do awesome work. Those are great observations. Where do we find your videos?

A blade edge won't dull from being laid down on a flat piece of wood. As soon as a plane is put to work it is laid flat on wood anyways... :)

      That's a silly myth.

That’s an old wives tale with no basis in fact.
