- The innovative, award-winning Celebrity Edge cruise ship has finally landed in Australia. The first of the Edge Class ships from Celebrity, from its iconic Magic Carpet and infinite veranda staterooms, to its air lubrication system and parabolic ultra-bow, its design is considered to make it the best cruise ship in years. But is Celebrity Edge any good? Is it fun? Which audience is Celebrity Edge best for?

Excellent, very enjoyable. I liked your accent
Thank your Robert, that's lovely to hear.
I loved this video 🛳️
Thank you so much, that's lovely to hear!
Thank you
You're welcome. Enjoy the cruise!
The missus and I spent 15 days on the Edge last October / November. We sailed from Rome, Sicily, Athens, Suez Canal, Red Sea, Gulf Of Aden, Oman, Abu Dhabi and ending in Dubai. Amazing ship , service and food.
HI David - What a trip! I'm looking into doing something in and out of Dubai next actually. How'd you find the route through that part of the world, any tips?
Honestly one of the best ship tours I have seen on YT. Thanks for sharing this mate.
Cheers mate! Means a lot to me to hear that! WIll try and do more!
Hi Chris...We were those dodgy people bagging the drink prices in the spa..What a great spot to enjoy Milford sound..once u can work out how to turn it on..😅..Great review..spot on about the restricted access to the front of the ship..unfortunately the weather gods took the sun away across the tasman👎..safe travels
No way! How awesome. Gee it was funning when that bloke walked up and started the spa in three seconds using the same buttons we had pushed 20 times!
Yeah, bit of a bummer with the drink prices and the front of the ship. Spa was good though! :)
He definitely had the magic touch..enjoyed your review..look forward to watching more of your travel content...👍🏻
@@richardsearle7251 Thanks mate!
Great video. I wish I had a $ for every passenger I overheard complaining about their infinite veranda on a 21 night Med cruise back in 2019. Luckily I was in an oceanview. My upcoming Edge cruise is in traditional balcony cabin. I’ll keep an ear out for the “infinite” complainers.😂
@@gisme4648 Thank you! I was disappointed by how many times I went to open the Infinite Veranda only for it to be locked externally. That did get annoying quick.
Love your ship tour ! You have a great “tell it like it is “ kind of approach. I’m going on this ship in 3 weeks and really looking forward to it !. I booked it back in November 2021, so it’s been a long time coming . I will actually get to check out the front of the ship because I booked so far ahead , I got an amazing deal on a Magic Carpet suite .i totally fit the demographic as I am 52 and past the kid stage lol .
Thank you so much for leting me know, lovely to hear. You're going to have such a great time. What destinations are you going to?
I did get to to tour the retreat, and the front section - which has a spa, pool and plenty of relaxation space - is probably the best position on the ship. I'm jealous, lol!
@@motivatedtravel it’s just the 6 night cruise to Eden NSW, then 2 days in Hobart . Well it was meant to be 2 full days , but they changed the itinerary and we get there at 5pm on the Saturday night and leave 7pm on the Sunday . But it’s all good .. because of the change , my friend and I are now going to the Nik Kershaw and Go West Concert on the Saturday night ! Lol silver lining !
It will be fun. Hobart is lovely, but not big. You can get around it in a jiffy. You could hire a car and check out top of Mt Wellington, which is amazing. Port Arthur is awesome, too, but a full day needed.@@coleenbrennen487
@@motivatedtravel yes I went on a cruise there last year on Ovation. The day we were there was my birthday so we went on a 2 hour private tour on a Harley trike ! Was amazing ! So this time I’m going with a friend and we both wanted to do port Arthur . As part of the deal I scored with staying in a suite , I ended up with about $1100 USD onboard credit ! 🤣 . So was happy to use that to pay for the day tour through the ship . This is the best value cruise I’ve ever found . I paid $3200 pp for 6 nights and because we are in a suite ( the cheapest one they have ), the premium drink package and premium wifi is also included . We literally won’t have to spend anymore money whilst onboard . We did have to pay $89 each for the Nik Kershaw tickets though lol
Sounds like you scored! Pretty good deal, and that onboard credit can get you a couple of specialty dining feeds as well maybe?@@coleenbrennen487
Fantastic tour from a quintessential Aussie legend! Booked on this cruise for Feb 2025. Agree that The Retreat is restrictive and limits access to the bow. A bit snobby. As a Canadian/Australian, I can confirm that Calgary has no port! It's land locked in the province of Alberta. Perhaps you meant the port of Vancouver? That is a very beautiful location! Thank you for such a comprehensive and informative tour, mate!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I really hope you enjoy your trip. It obviously wasn't Calgary then. Hmmm... I swear that is what he said. I wonder if there is another port that sounds similar. I'll have to do some research now.
❤
You love the cruise? It's good fun, isn't it!
It is a ship, not a boat!
Sorry, but it is annoying to hear her referred to as a boat. 😏
A great tour, Thankyou. 😃🙏
Yes, I kept getting into trouble for saying that with other people on the ship, lol. Can we put it down to classic Australian understatement :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the tour!
