Officially known as the “State Anthem of the Russian Federation” (Государственный гимн Российской Федерации). It was adopted as the official anthem of the Russian Federation in 2000 replacing the Yeltsin Era “Patriotic Song”. The tune is the same of the State Anthem of the Soviet Union composed by Alexander Alexandrov, albeit with different lyrics today.
