Joseph is an AMAZING artist and the kindest person I know. His artwork is whimsical, delightful and unforgettable. Not only his artwork is unique but is also a stand on our blueprints as how we treat our planet and its people. He gives back life to abandonned objects he finds along his adventures and he tells many stories. Hats off to YOU for all you do!!!! As you go beyond your art and help connect, support and give joy to tons of people.
Just discovered Joseph Bennett and I must say, I see a really well composed work. Similar strong apearances as pieces by Joseph Cornell. It makes a lot of fun to watch and I'm curious seeing more.
For me, Joseph's work speaks from a deeply playful, yet sacred place. Joseph, you have an uncanny gift of juxtaposing these found objects in such a way, they become sculptural stories of curiosity, wonder, and depth which can be interpreted personally for every viewer. They become alive with meaning, while exquisite to observe and interpret.
Deeply thought provoking pieces created, arranged and presented by a most amazing human being, soul lifter and smile maker. Jospeh Bennett keeps adding beauty to the world in ways that will be felt for centuries.
Joseph’s assemblages transport me to another time. I love the moments he creates within these timeless objects, his sculptures will be in a museum some day soon. Plus he is full of love and light 💖 and he can dance and sing! Power house!
I have been fascinated with found object art for many years. I studied this medium with Joseph because I knew that he loves to go scavenging for unique new items in USA and Mexico to “assemble” in playful, profound, quirky ways - depending on how the objects he is holding in his hands speak to him. The evidence of his passion and creativity is in the vid. Bien Hecho Tocayo!
Love the concept of working all the discarded bits in to works of beauty. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your art and for sharing your love with so many. Glad to have recently met you and have you as a new friend!
What beautiful, evocative work, Joseph! Each piece invites the viewer to create a story for it. The best kind of art--a collaboration between the artist and the person looking at the art.
So glad to say I was there from what believe was the beginning of your career and so proud to host your first show. Your work has progressed with the grace, beauty and maturity of a truly great artist. Thank You for sharing your heart and your work. P.S. The musical choice was well how should I say....Truly Sublime :)
Yes, Robert! You were there at the beginning! And while "The White Ones" wasn't my first show, it was certainly one of the more memorable ones! Thank you for your beautiful words, and your most generous heart!
In those halcyon days of theater shop, Joe and I were fellow thespians . So happy to see he's kept his creative streak going! These are beautiful found object assemblages. They get inside your brain and make you think about those ever-present ideas of abstraction and the inner workings of the world around us. I believe James Joyce called it aesthetic arrest: “When we are transfixed by beauty, we are beheld in an aesthetic arrest. We are so transfixed that we stop breathing. We well up inside and experience life lived to the point of tears.”
Thanks for watching, Gary. I appreciate it! And yes, a short video on some of the pieces would be a sublime way to spotlight some of the works. What made you think of that? Are you a videographer? Would e fun to hear YOUR thought process...
