Would this be a valuable tool to aim train, I like a couple other glasspads and use them, but this one is more raw and I was just thinking if how it could benefit me. Is it worth keeping or just selling?
mm to me this pad is so extreme it feels like you have to develop technique _for_ it as opposed to using it to just hone in on your fine control. your mileage may vary tho and slower skates might make it more reasonable

I then compared It to my friends and his was way faster! Turns out qc on the 004 is not so great and there are "slow" batches that are in circulation. So I will probably end up selling it anyways because it feels no faster than some other pads I have lol.

bought the 3.0 when they were having that big sale prior to the 4.0 release a few months ago, always wanted to try glass and I'm really glad I have now. mb in something like CS it wouldn't help that much but tf2 sniper flicks and scout scatter/pistol tracking feels much much better, same in quake. can +1 to the 3.0 making me feel like the princess and the pea when a single dust particle lands on it lol it's super noticeable, I end up cleaning it briefly before every session usually with regards to wrist/arm transitions @ 10:40 on my 3.0 I found the same issue of wrist flicks feeling quite different to larger arm flicks and especially tracking. for me what made a big difference was raising my seat a few extra inches so less of my arm weight is on the glass itself, made it so that now I don't even use a sleeve provided the environment isnt too humid also re: picking up ur mouse a lot, idk if you still use accel but that's something that def comes with it. since if you flick your crosshair right to a point and then slowly move left back to where your crosshair started at, your mouse won't be in the same spot and over time it can sort of wander across the pad

@@jvnecat Its faster than the superglide. less grip on the bottom. it basically has the same grip on the bottom that the skypad does. curved edges. really lightweight. really cheap. paid $65 with the discount they are always offering. Would 100% recommend it as a "beginner" glass mousepad.
Consistency is also the term I'd describe it with, although I only ever used a superglide pad to compare it to. It's also a lot more quiet that that one and I think sound is 80% of how smooth the pad actually feels to use, amplified by the fact I'm using open-back headphones
What sens and dpi do you play on? I am also a fingertip grip players well and have a hard time finding other players like myself to compare my settings to! I love seeing how other ftip players have their settings set up! Great review btw, very calm and relaxing video!
I wouldnt get core skates tbh donuts and dots are for sure better core skates slow down and sort of smeer on the glass depending on if you press on the pad or not.

Yeah I'm currently using the glaze and superglide, very happy with both. I more want the 4.0 as I enjoy experimenting and cba to resell it when they make a larger one
@@neocopycat you say "when" but the skypad 3 was out for years and never got a large size 😭 you'd probably have fun with the skypad 4 but i don't think you would main it. how is the glaze holding up?
let me have my copium in peace 😭... glaze is holding up great, its starting to feel faster and smoother but idk if this is because of the uhmwpe tape infusing with the pad when I practice speedts the tape gets pretty warm LOL, there is a glaze ultra in the works so kinda hyped for that.

Hes Soldier christ so if he runs glaze you have no reason to swap lol, he says its pretty nuts. 4.0 is pretty good though, Matty had mentioned he could beat most of his tracking scores on the 4.0 instead of his raiden. Alternatively, clover runs shidenkai over skypad 4.0 so idrfk. Use what you like haha
i bought jade donuts specifically for when this pad comes in tomorrow 🤦♂ thankfully, i have some obsidian dots leftover, so we'll see how it goes. great review, love the style
@@jvnecat i like it a lot! ive had to swap to claw grip since the lack of finger microadjustments with palm grip was not working out very well, but my tracking is feeling a lot more fluid now. my jade skates are stuck in transportation limbo, so i cant comment on that

aw thank you!! maybe i'll do another one of these after all haha. i've not tried it but it looks quite similar to the hsk plus, which i liked but didn't love. i'm actually quite keen to try the m3 micro though, i feel like it could be an interesting ftip option that has the ability to engage palm contact when the situation calls for it

I tested it for a year and it definitely is too fast It's to the point I stopped using the Skypad and will now be going to the Artisan Zero and I am by no means bad at a game but you can easily overshoot with this mousepad and it was to the point I can't enjoy playing in grandmaster in ow anymore because I have no real stopping power. you are right about the gripping issue, owning a skypad made me completely get rid of it and when I switched back to a soft mousepad I no longer gripped my mouse to death so this is an in general good video.
my personal opinion this is a good pad but it's not good for consistency if you are an FPS player but if you use it for things that don't need super precise aim then this mousepad is for you
love how detailed you explain everything, i feel like i can finally relate to someone regarding this whole topic, ive went through around 15 cloth pads in total and have always been frustrated with consistency and being able to find smth that fits me long term, alot of the ppl i talked to have never been too conscious about peripherals, the last one ive tried was a cordura pad, which i felt like was alot more consistent and has lasted me longer than any other pad before. Skypad has a drop coming up, ive wanted to try a glass pad for a while, for all the reasons you ve mentioned, hope i can get used to it.
You absolutely can they actually have some of the best PTFE feet I have EVER felt from OEMs glides like literal butter on OEMs. Sorry for the late response hope that might help?

for me I don't see there being a big enough reason to switch from my 3.0 until it breaks, certainly not for the price of getting another glass pad
