I've noticed how much more confident the two of you are, and the level of hosting a ship, well, no doubt about it, it's gonna be great seeing you sail again.
I’m eager to see you sailing this marvelous boat, she is beautiful. Also can’t wait to meet the “boat people” who were generous enough to put their boat in your hands having never met you, I love boat people.
So when I was a kid, my grandfather lived in Beaufort and he must have taken me to the Yorktown 5 times for me to crawl all over. I love that museum. Totally worth a look through.
Love the boat! More importantly it’s amazing that someone would trust you with such a expensive asset. To me it shows your character and integrity, love you guys have a great passage.
Way to level up!! From boatless to back on the water in a fine looking vessel. The excitement for this new adventure you two show is palpable! I sure am looking forward to you bringing us all along for this new leg of your life's journey. (Gotta show us all the prep you do before setting sail...provisioning...all the stuff you're bringing...how you plan the trip, etc.) Detail what looks like a HUGE big screen TV just inside the sliding doors. Movie night with popcorn while on watch anyone? Haha! Thanks again for another one of your great vids!
The USS Yorktown and our Service men and women past, present, and future, deserve all the praise and credit and Respect we can give them. Blessings all.
Transporting that trimaran sounds so fun!!! I can’t wait to see the sail. I love you guys so much. You were the first sailors I ever watched, and it was during the worst winter for me: 2020. You have no idea how grateful I am to you.
What a beautiful Boat. Seems like it has everything one needs plus more. Thanks 🙏 for inviting us subscribers along for the adventure and sailing. I’ll be waiting we cast off. Love you guys. Dennis.
The other big ship is the USS Laffey, the last of the Allen M. Sumner-class destroyers. Besides WWII and the Vietnam War, the USS Yorktown also helped recover the Apollo 8 mission (first crewed to leave Earth's low orbit and reach the Moon) in 1968 as well. The USS Laffey also served in WWII, helping conduct airstrikes in the Philippines and do landings on Leyte and Mindoro. It was badly damaged by a kamikaze assault (six crashed into it) that killed 32 and wounded 71. After WWII, the Laffey served during the Korean War and the Suez crisis.
As an American expat living in the Philippines/Guam, it's simply amazing how much war history surrounds us here... that younger generations have no clue about. Thanks for the history lesson.
The few times I've been to Charleston going on the ships at Patriots Point was the best part. I'm not much into the cities, however I love St. Augustine Florida.
Thank you for saying this. I was rather disappointed with the casual dismissal given to these venerable ships. The men that served and died on them deserve better treatment.
Those tours are very worthwhile. I thoroughly enjoyed them. However, be aware there is LOTS of walking and LOTS of stair climbing. The stairs are not like at home either. These are naval warship stairs. They are very steep. So be sure you are able bodied and in reasonable shape before doing these tours. If not you will not enjoy them and you will probably prevent the people with you from enjoying them. Just a little heads up. I thoroughly enjoyed them in my 30’s, but I now, in my mid 50’s, I have some physical limitations and would not even consider doing the tours today. It’s not the years though, it’s the mileage.
Yay Jason and Nikki! What an amazing boat! So glad you're getting to share your adventure with us! Also, thank you Katie and Craig for allowing us along on this delivery! May fair winds be with you all! 🌬⛵
Wow! What fantastic, exciting opportunities are coming your way! All the good things you've done to help people in your past must be rewarding you now! 💖
For me, the Neel 51 is the sweet spot in their design lineup, but the 47 is really nice, too. I like the modifications the owners made to this one. Looking forward to seeing your sail and what you think of the Neel under way.
You all are in my favorite cities which happen to contain two of my favorite people. My niece now lives full time in historic Charleston after graduating from College of Charleston last year. When you hit St. Augustine you will hit the home of Flagler College where my nephew is attending his first year. I have vacationed in both these cities many times and love them dearly. I hope you had a fabulous time on the delivery!
I like this boat. And to make that speed beating into crap, that’s pretty darn good. The motion looked less jerky that a cat. When I first saw the owners cabin I said whaaaat! But after a few minutes that really makes sense. You make some very good points there. Really great when underway or at anchor. You are very aware of your surrounding and being able to see the glass panel, even right from the bed. Great. With the single engine you loose maneuverability but gain half of the maintenance. And That’s huge. I have sailed most of the world with just one engine. And over 30 yrs old at that with very little problems. Hey, it’s all a trade off. Thanks for the tour.
YES! I've been hoping to see you guys sailing a trimaran at some point and it looks like you couldn't have chosen a better one, given how nicely the owners of this beautiful boat have customized her. Oh and Nikki's pronunciation of "amas" is just the damned cutest thing. I don't even want to spoil it by trying to correct it. 😄
Awesome tour! I am sure You got the tri-haul out without a single problem, you were meant to be a captain! Glad to see you both happy and healthy, though I did detect a small catch in your lovely voice Nikki, (If I wasn't such a huge fan, I probably wouldn't have noticed). You are a pro, and pushed right thru :), Jason you seem happy as ever and I love to see you both smiling! Thank you to the lovely couple who donated their stunning craft to Nikki and Jason, those are super Patrons! Safe passage and can't wait to see you until next Sunday- GOD Bless!
Have been following you for years. Wishing I was thirty years younger and had your influence back then to hit the open seas!! I grew up in St. Augustine and was called a "river rat" since we lived on the Matanzas and drove a ski boat long before driving a car. I miss the water - live in Atlanta now to be close to my daughters; but my sister lives on Salt Run in St. Augustine, so we still travel "home" as much as possible. When you said that your next stop was St. Augustine, I whooped and hollered. Can't wait to watch next week. You need a month in St. Augustine to see everything and eat everywhere!! Happy New Years! Suzan
The bridge you went over at 20:05 is the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. The third-longest cable-stayed bridge in the Western Hemisphere, though not one of the longest in the world as China dominates the top five. Arthur Ravenel Jr. was a politician who specifically ran for the South Carolina Senate just to get funding for the bridge. The bridge is home to the annual USA Track & Field 10K meters/6.2 miles Cooper River Bridge Run on the first weekend of April. This event attracts up to 50K people. The route starts in Mount Pleasant and finishes in downtown Charleston at Marion Square.
So happy you're "back sailing ⛵️ ❤️ ". Thou you were sailing as a guest on last few videos, *it wasn't the same. Your excitement in this video is blaringly obvious 😊, which is so nice to see again!!!* 👍👍👍
On the rolling, lights always at 100% and then find the shutter speed that matches. 1/60 or 1/50 is typical on 120V/240V leds. The DC leds are usually lower. Around 1/42 or even 1/30th if they are half wave. There is usually a monitor sync function or a fine scan adjustment on some of the higher end Sony cams. Adjust it up or down to find that frequency where the rolling stops. Its a pain in the rear as you know. But once you find it, save it as a preset and adjust exposure with iso and f stop. And, you’re going to have it on your new boat unless you make sure they use very high quality, high resolution PWM dimmers.
Great tour of the Neal “Big ship” and no charge, unlike the other big ships there in Charleston. Always been a Trimaran fan looking forward to how everything goes on your sail south!
We are a few years behind you two! Your inspiration led us to buying our first RV, quitting our jobs and leaving for our first 6 month tour. Sailing is next!! Thank you
Such an exciting adventure for you guys. I’ve followed you since your motor home days, and so excited to see what is ahead for you and obtaining your new vessel. Love you guys.
So excited for this journey for you guys! Would love to hear some experience / direct comparisons between the Neel and HH (ie sailing characteristics, performance, fit and finish, etc) And most importantly stay safe and have fun!!!
With that master bedroom upstairs, I would imagine you don't have to listen to the slap of the waves on the hull. Nice job guys. Looks like an awesome boat to hang out on for a few days/weeks.
Wow. Just Wow! Having built and owned two wood/epoxy trimarans back in the seventies/eighties (Searunner 37 and Cross 42), I can hardly believe the advances in technology and design for these modern multihulls. It is like comparing an old biplane to a Lear jet! Have fun on your trip and don't let the boat get away from you; I expect it will be a lot faster than your old cruising cat.
What a beautiful boat, love the openness of it. Wow those ships are massive!! I mean I knew they were big but you captured the massiveness of them so well in that one shot! Charleston is really a cute town, I was just there in August house/cat sitting for a friend. Stay Blessed Beautiful Hearts and Happy Sailing! 🙏🏼💜
Shout out to my Charleston peeps. We lived on a boat there for 2 years. Shopped in that same grocery store! Shrimp n' grits! Now I'm homesick, here in Mexico. Next week, shout out to my St. Augustine hometown peeps. I miss all of it.
Hello Wynns, my wife and I are long time Charleston residents. I wish I had known you were here since I sail out of the Charleston Marina. The Mrs is a tour guide and would love to show you around our incredible city. Also, don't shop at that grocery store again, there's a Whole Foods right around the corner and I'd be happy to take you there. Sams and Costco are also nearby and I have memberships to both. Cheers!
Enjoy your "new" temporary home and sail. Glad you are keeping busy. It is always annoying to wait for something to happen, (your new boat build). Their are a few more things in the Charleston area that are worth seeing. Some old forts like on Sullivan's Island, (one of the barrier islands in the area). I'm up river in Columbia, but have not had much chance to play tourist because of the various lock downs after I moved here. (Columbia used to be accessible by river with barges and boats, but probably now only by small boats.) One odd thing, that you likely won't use, is that you can motor along the inland waterways with the barrier islands on the ocean side. Great for moving smaller motor boats when the weather is less than ideal. Plus, a smaller motor boat can use it as part of America's Great Loop.
.... have always thought that when the day comes that I have my own boat there will be a large as possible screen whose main purpose would be to mirror the instruments so with a turn of the head you could see what is going on. Another techy thing would be a remote camera on the mast. Sorta like having a drone view while say docking, negotiating lochs, and security so you can see what is going on on deck without being visible ... what a great boat, the storage is fantastic and not only for the general sailing things but for bulky toys so they don't clutter the deck ... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ....
Nikki and Jason gushing about how spacious the storage and engine compartments are, meanwhile I'm getting secondhand claustrophobia... it's amazing how much difference there is in different perspectives!
I've never been a fan of tris, but the practical and clean application of this design is a game changer I would personally own. The only change I would make is to shift the Fusion and other electronic panels closer to the aft salon entrance so that it doesn't congest the kitchen and or nav station activities.
AND THE ADVENTURE BEGINS😁😁🛡️ I can't wait till you guys have a big slip " home base" that will ALWAYS be a home and private place of peace and recuperating after all your adventures and planning for next ones... I MISS THOSE VIDEOS OF " HELLO GIANT MOTHER HUMPBACK WHALE 😲🤗" YOUR JOURNEYS AS USUAL, ARE AWE INSPIRING, JOYOUS AND SUCH AN INSPIRATION TO WATCH 😍 I LOVE YOU GUYS 🛡️🛡️ AND ENDLESS THANKYOUS FOR INVITING ME TO VIRTUALLY COME WITH YOU AND GET SUCH A CONTACT HAPPY WITH YOU AND YOUR ADVENTURES 🌈🌎💎💎🛡️🛡️❤️
So glad you got to visit Charleston, SC (I live in nearby Summerville). It's been chosen as one of the friendliest cities in the World/US several years in a row. It's a great place for food, and while they have good food downtown some of the best food in the area is in hole-in-the-wall restaurants from downtown on out to the towns nearby. Which is pretty common for cities in the southeast.
I have been to Charleston 3 times. Twice for the company, I worked for and once to show my wife the city. You are right. It is a great place to visit and has some very good places to eat. Oh, I am from Texas also. Longview to be exact.
My brother lives there too! In fact, his street ends as a boat ramp into Shem Creek that he can launch during high tide. Love that utility room allowing uncramped access to all tech.
Welcome to my hometown...wish you could stay longer but hopefully you'll be back! Your video styling would be the perfect match for showcasing Charleston!
Oh, by the way, we also have the exact same washing machine. Even though it's supposed to be a 3.5kg, it's quite small. However, it's a really well built, sophisticated inverter driven machine. Regular washing load is 29min using 30L of water. Usually we just do multiple washings of our clothes and bed linens. Large towels, etc., we take to a laundromat.
Tip: Wrap bottles of toxic, flammable or messy liquids in an old towel before placing them in a plastic basket. Constant plastic on plastic or anything semi-hard to hard causes friction which can indeed rub a hole or groove in plastic containers, releasing their contents when it's least desirable. It's far easier to readjust or replace the old towel if it wears away than it is to clean up the mess, or worse, deal with toxic fumes. Hmm! I have a Bosch dishwasher. :) Yes, I've been to Charleston. Beautiful Southern city! I've been to St. Augustine, too. :) And Miami...
I know it's been stated before, but you two are masterfully entertaining, such artful videographers, and so pleasing to watch. Happy New Year and safe sailing✌️.
Hello. I missed you last night as I fell asleep earlier than expected. What a great vessel you are underway with. The first word that came to mind during your trimaran description was "Luxury." The second word, "convenience." Ultimately and remarkably. What a treat to be able to experience this cruising vessel. You have me just about ready to quit work and go and live my dream!! Great sail.
Hi ....We live in Charleston and would have loved to see both of you...We know your time was short ...an you both had a ton of things to do before departing for southern waters ..Have safe & fun filled journey...best of luck with your new home when she is completed..God speed...
I spent a week on the Yorktown back in the day as a Scout Master. Super fun! There is also, at least back then... a Russian Submarine. Highly recommend!!
I drove cross country Semi-trucks for 8 years as a younger version of myself. The sleeper on the trucks definitely smaller than the anchor and storage lockers on that boat. Maybe emergency guest rooms 😊
Charleston, also Savannah, Ga, are awesome places. Both city’s are on the coast and very similar to each other. If you are a history buff, go visit each place!
Nice boat. I helped a guy build a 40 foot trimaran in Alaska back in the 70's using the West epoxy saturation method. It took him 5 years to finish it and I helped him as much as I could as I was interested in boats and sailing also. He finally got it in the water at the Port of Anchorage and "motored" it the 2500 miles to Seattle to have a mast, rigging and sails installed. He had never been sailing or crossed big water in his life and by the time he got to Seattle he hated it so much he sold the boat and went to work building and upgrading boats in the Seattle area. At least I learned a lot about building and maintaining boats from the experience of helping him build it, tho I never got a chance to sail on it. I had just joined the Fire Dept and couldn't break away for the trip. Thanks for the video! I will be interested in your take on the difference between a Catamaran and a Trimaran. How many months till your new boat is ready?
I have been wondering how you could top sailing in the South Pacific and here you done just that! Delivering this brand new Tri-hull is right up your alley and should be fun for us to follow!
Awesome tour guys! I made some notes for potential upgrades on my Neel. It took some additional training on my part to deal with a wide beam and single engine with a bow thruster around the marina. With no wind or currents, it's as easy as in the Neel docking video.
@@karenpolansky9097 Our oldest son lives in Charlotte, NC and yet Charleston, SC is one of our favorite places to visit. We go almost every year for our anniversary so... you can imagine how many times I have either said North instead of South Carolina or Charlotte instead of Charleston. 😂🤣
I had a forty-two foot trimaran, in a cross wind, they are hard to manoeuvre--but I used reverse in tough conditions of cross wind and tide and you need someone with a push-off pole. We never had a bow thruster--but it would have helped a lot to have had one. The two amas together were the size of a 35 foor t Wharram catamaran, and all we stored in them was extra bosun's stores, extra water, spare ropes and synthetic carpeted racks securing extra containers of diesel fuel.
This why I watch the Wynns. They give you the full experience of the area they are staying.
I've noticed how much more confident the two of you are, and the level of hosting a ship, well, no doubt about it, it's gonna be great seeing you sail again.
Good Sunday morning to the Wynns! 😊
I’m eager to see you sailing this marvelous boat, she is beautiful. Also can’t wait to meet the “boat people” who were generous enough to put their boat in your hands having never met you, I love boat people.
Love to see this trimaran beatiful and full set👍👍👍👍👍
A monohull on training wheels🤮🤮🤮
So when I was a kid, my grandfather lived in Beaufort and he must have taken me to the Yorktown 5 times for me to crawl all over. I love that museum. Totally worth a look through.
Never saw anyone more excited over a dishwasher🤣🤣🤣✌️💜
Love the boat! More importantly it’s amazing that someone would trust you with such a expensive asset. To me it shows your character and integrity, love you guys have a great passage.
It's called insurance...

That boat is so pristine! I think you two are the only people people that tidy could trust with a boat like that. Wow!!
I get excited over dishwashers too, life is too short not to have a dishwasher.
What a beautiful Boat. Seems like it has everything one needs plus more. Thanks 🙏 for inviting us subscribers along for the adventure and sailing. I’ll be waiting we cast off. Love you guys. Dennis.
love the excitement... like watching kids getting a new toy. Can't wait to see the sail and enjoy the experience with you. Awesome stuff

You'll have to do a swap with La Vagabond once you've both had your new boats a while - at least you will all be used to the OC tenders!

What a lovely opportunity for you two. So happy for you guys. Absolutely love your best ever videos. Blessings on your new journey. 🌺
Great tour of the Neal “Big ship” and no charge, unlike the other big ships there in Charleston. Always been a Trimaran fan looking forward to how everything goes on your sail south!
OMG Jason I am so with you on that 8:32 like why didn't ever think of that!🤣
We are a few years behind you two! Your inspiration led us to buying our first RV, quitting our jobs and leaving for our first 6 month tour. Sailing is next!! Thank you
RV living is dry land sailing!
Such an exciting adventure for you guys. I’ve followed you since your motor home days, and so excited to see what is ahead for you and obtaining your new vessel. Love you guys.

I hope you have a safe trip. I love watching your adventures on Sunday morning when it’s freezing cold here in Canada. That’s a lovely boat.
I’m surprised at how much I like this one. It’s perfectly cozy for a couple. I doubt I will ever afford one but I’m dreaming at least ❤

Ditto. It's a dream trimaran.
Ditto. It's a dream trimaran.
Victoria really loves the dishwashers also. It's so funny how a dishwasher on a boat gets people excited. Great video guys. 👍👍🍺🍺😁
You can see a lot of thought has gone into this boat, looks great. Funny no fidles arround the kitchen tops !!!
I love Charleston my husband was navy we lived in Noth Charleston right outside the base mid 1970's. It is a place frozen in time so beautiful
By far my favorite boat that I have see on GwtW channel. Hits almost every category perfectly
Wow, that takes me back. I attended a party on the Yorktown back when I was in college. Too long ago. Nice to see she's still there and doing well.
It’s great to see you guy’s getting back on the water. The Tri hull is amazing!!!!! The fact that there’s no gas generator is great.
Love the lanyard on the deeply stowed storage boxes. Elegantly simple.
Shout out to my Charleston peeps. We lived on a boat there for 2 years. Shopped in that same grocery store! Shrimp n' grits! Now I'm homesick, here in Mexico. Next week, shout out to my St. Augustine hometown peeps. I miss all of it.

Looks like a groovy sailboat; all the bells and whistles. I look forward to following your trip to Florida. Stay safe, have fun.
Charlestown is a beautiful city with great food! Glad you two are back home in the USA and recouping! See you on the new Kat!
.... have always thought that when the day comes that I have my own boat there will be a large as possible screen whose main purpose would be to mirror the instruments so with a turn of the head you could see what is going on.
The Wynnes in their natural habitat, on board a sleek vessel! Looking forward to this journey, thanks for sharing it with us. X
Those ships are awesome. I, along with my scout troop, have slept aboard the Yorktown twice. Great experience !
AND THE ADVENTURE BEGINS😁😁🛡️

A Neel 47 is my dream boat so I was very excited to see this video. Thanks so much!
Another great video exploring different multihull boats. I look forward every week to seeing a new adventure!
That is such a sweet setup. Really makes a good argument for just sailing away.
Coffee and bagel Sunday morning with the Wynns! ❤️. Have a good sail south
I have been to Charleston 3 times. Twice for the company, I worked for and once to show my wife the city. You are right. It is a great place to visit and has some very good places to eat. Oh, I am from Texas also. Longview to be exact.
That is exciting. I hope you love your experience with a trimaran. That would be so much fun!!
That yacht is amazing!!! thank you for your videos! It’s 45°, gray and rainy in Nashville yet I can dream and escape this by watching your videos 🎉❤
Always start my Sunday with coffee and the Wynns. 🙂
So exciting to see the beginning of a new adventure!!!! Yay! What a boat!!
It will be so fun to watch you learn the ins and outs of this trimaran. What a great way to get broader experience.
Yes, I've been to Charleston. Beautiful Southern city!
I've been to St. Augustine, too. :)
And Miami...
Great sail.
Sounds like you’ll have a marvelous time! Fantastic boat! I’d love to see a review of the tiny washer/dryer.
Hi ....We live in Charleston and would have loved to see both of you...We know your time was short ...an you both had a ton of things to do before departing for southern waters ..Have safe & fun filled journey...best of luck with your new home when she is completed..God speed...
Man, what a great background, having two beautiful warships!
Thanks for the video!
I spent a week on the Yorktown back in the day as a Scout Master. Super fun! There is also, at least back then... a Russian Submarine. Highly recommend!!
So many great storage areas! I agree-so much to see in Charleston! Safe journeys! Sure do enjoy all you share with us!
I have a dishwasher in my motorhome that I added and it only uses slightly over 1 gallon of water to wash the dishes and I love it.
Awesome tour guys! I made some notes for potential upgrades on my Neel. It took some additional training on my part to deal with a wide beam and single engine with a bow thruster around the marina. With no wind or currents, it's as easy as in the Neel docking video.
That boat is amazing, really well thought out. And I remember when you guys were doing your lessons, look at you now!
What a beautiful boat! Now thanks to you, I definitely have Charleston on my list when I make my way up the East Coast in the spring.
South Carolina. It's such an awesome place to visit! :)
@@ALittleCLAIREification oops! Thanks. I’ll correct it. ☺️
Good luck with moving the boat out of dock. But you will be fine, you are very capable, and careful! Looking forward to the journey to Florida!
Cleanest boat ever! Watching this I was thinking "this is an expensive boat" then I saw they have 2 Onewheels and I knew for sure it was!
Man... we can't believe you were in Charleston when we were not home, crazy. We were one of your first 1500 subs back in the day.
Great video!
Wow, that deserves a 🏆 thanks for sticking with us over the years!
Jason and Nikki,
Thank y'all for sharing. Enjoy Miami (aka..My Emy) or perhaps (La mia Emi).
Cheers!
Blue Skies!
Faithfully,
James
I’m in love! And as a OneWheel fan; theses ppl are legit!!
