Was a great band so underrated
This is truly flawless!!!!
You and Mind Your Own Business are my faves by them. TYSSS☺
You! You! You! You!!!!
Fab band. Saw them in Oxford in '80 when the guitarist's machine head broke. He left the stage and the gig continued without him
Top notch band..........They rock and groove hard and raw......and from Leeds which is fucking cool......Nice post........
+PABLOHOLMEZ Gang of Four, Delta 5 and Mekons were formed by students who attended the University of Leeds during the middle 1970s. Very few members of these groups were actually West Yorkshire natives. As one can hear from Julz and Bethan's accents/singing voices.
As a Hetfordshire born, Lincoln raised, teen/early 20s Manc now living in Yorkshire, there is just SOMETHING. about the call of the North! Amazing sounds and attitude in those times, still love it!
Well. something interesting had to come from or spawn or sprout or spout from Marxist Leeds. No need to get political, but maybe these youngsters were tired of being misused, misguided, and left to rot on the Dole, so they quit being arm-chair revolutionaries and decided to let others and help them figure out why 1970s North England was so bland, and also explored the distance between the reality of idealism and the myth of ideals. ______ Or, Maybe, not, and I am just pontificating through a rubber hose again.
those were the days i was 14 im now 50
love it growing up with john peel sessions in my house from mum so yes i am 42 But is fab
stop complaining ya winging shitbag
Bless you Julz ...... see you down the road soon enough xxx
Obrigada pelo up!
Post-punk, art punk, dance-punk
If someone stateside could have given them the big push they would have gotten their due. Back around 80 this would have been the perfect band to put on SNL. The late Saturday night audience would have loved them and then they would have caught fire.
My birth day!! so cool!!
Happy SuperBelated BDay🎁🎂🎈🎉
The mind your own business baseline fading out is such a tease. Is the uncut version anywhere online?
That’s more or less complete. I taped it off the radio at the time and after that fade out the next thing you hear is Peel saying, I think, “Heard it through the grapevine did you?”
NOW we have WET LEG rehashing this ........... and getting to Number One with it ..........
poorly
Anybody else see them in Los Angeles at the ON KLUB
@ 9:00 nice tribute to Scotty Wallis...
