Swinging an ax to split wood is one reason the average age of death for men was 39 years old back in the 1800’s. That’s a brutal work out. Those are some nice tools to add to your wood chopping arsenal.
im 28 yo 187cm 88kg, i was swinging the 8lb maul for 5 hours cutting my grandpas pine woods (heavily knotted). well my back didnt like taht a lot, but god i love that maul. since you have power you can split some really hard stuff.
I have the 8lbs one and found it worked better with a 45° bevelled edge on Australian hardwood. If a maul constantly bounces then reduce the bevel edge from 45° to 60° the wider the bevel angle the more force required to bust open those twisted locked in wood fibres
The fiskars Isocore Pro 8lb maul is the cat's meow. You are much larger than me and if that 8 pounder is giving you grief, you need to work on your cardio playa!!!

Lol thus the reason I have hydraulics now 🤣

Thanks for the authenticity on your video. You showed the wood can be stubborn.
You bet!
Nice review.
Thanks!
Love the review. 8 pounder wore
You out a little. 😮
mikey thanks for the reply!
8lb no likey, 6lb likey.... 😬
6lb maul is faster to the wood! I have split wood for years and have used both! I am 6ft 4 225 at 67 years old and I love the 6lb maul!
GR8 tool,😊

I like the one hooked up to the quad better🤣
Me too lol
Nice review Andrew. And a good workout for you at the same time 😅
Yes indeed!
trying to decide between this 6 pound and the x27 . will only be using it to break down 30 inch plus rounds for the gas splitter . your thoughts ???
30 inch is big! If allowed to dry, I'd probably go with the x27. If not, you'll need a maul and wedge.
Isn’t this a repeat?
from the main channel yes!
Different content added in this video
Beast 💪
Nothing like thumping rubber!😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫

Looks like a condensed version maybe the other one was on the main channel?
@@MTNmyMAG yeah I’m guilty of making that comment before watching the whole video. He add some other clips in there as well
