I believe the boy was kidnapped before they reached the sierra and that’s the reason his father was driving so fast and maniacally, he probably seen who took the kid and was trying to reach whoever took the boy away .
If he was being held as leverage against his father, he certainly would have been done away with as a witness and liability after the crash. It wouldn't have been prudent for drug runners to keep him alive, since there would always be a chance, however remote, that he could end up in a position to talk. Awful, as are all the possibilities here.
I do try to include mysteries from all over the world on the channel in the hope of presenting everyone with a mystery they haven't heard of before every now and then.
It is an especially tragic case this one. For such a young child to be put through such a traumatic experience. On top of this, had he survived, he would have eventually learnt of his parents' death. Thank you for the comment as always, Elke. 😊
He wouldn't have wandered off because there was a witness, the survivor in the other vehicle. Were the parents burned from acid at all? I doubt his dad was driving crazy for no reason, maybe his son was being held, maybe he didn't want to leave his family home for their safety. Nothing would surprise me.
Did the truck make any stops along the way? 800 km. is a very long way to go without a meal break (or at least to use the facilities). Did anyone see Juan at any of the stops?
There would have been stops, and the tachometer would have show that these stops took place. Reports don't mention anything unusual about the frequency or duration of the stops during the early stages of the trip, so nothing suspicious is suspected to have happened. Its a shame CCTV wasn't really around in the mid-1980s. It wasn't untill the late 80s that they started to become commonplace. There were sightings of the truck and the family earlier in the journey, but again nothing unusual was reported. Thank you for leaving a comment 😊
8:51 -- Are any additional details about this encounter available? I would not expect either a blind woman or a young child to be typical customers of a driving school. What was the context of this visit?
Haha yes, definitely not your typical visitor. The owner of the driving school reported the lady came in to ask for directions to the US embassy. The boy who was accompanying her was acting as a guide and spoke with a Spanish accent local to the region. The interaction was only brief, so there isn't much more to it than that unfortunately.
This was only a year after his disappearance, so you'd expect Juan to have looked very similar to the photos taken of him prior to his disappearance, the ones being used in missing person reports.
why was the father driving so eratically? was he being chased. I dont think Juan was in the lorry. I think his things were in the lorry to look like he was there but he wasnt. The couple with the white car took a package from the vehicle, that I believe were drugs.
anyone here after ballen video?

What do you guys think of the video? I hope it gave you what you were looking for.
Yup 😂
This is so sad, that the only chance he may still be alive is if he was taken by the random couple. Great video Unsolvable

How incredibly sad. I do pray the family get the answers they so badly need. I'm so glad you're back Luke!

Very true. It would be very sad for the boy. I'm think the family left behind, such great pain. You're welcome. Thank you
So glad you are back
You can talk about the case of Anthonette Christine Cayedito? Thanks for your work
Juan might have wandered into the woods in a state of confusion and gotten lost.
There was a witness in the other vehicle that didn't die and surely would have seen or heard the boy...
Thanks Unsolvable ❤
You're welcome 😊
Me watching this on June 25th scared the hell outta me
So tragic what happened i hope his family get answers regardless of the outcome

Probably trafficked.
If he was a hostage, following the death of his parents this become evermore likely 😢

Is it possible he was thrown out crushed by the truck and between the acid and lime his body was disolved?
