i was somewhat discouraged after looking into the keybind options and seeing a hundred things. but maybe my tiny chiv2 brain cant handle the complexity
To me, the best medieval melee slasher is combining both gameplay of Mordhau and Chivalry II because I believe Chivalry II should have included chambers to their Gameplay. Honestly I never understood why you should only parry when you can do a held parry as well. Having more options in combat in general brings out more fun to the experience although it should also honor the veterans of Mordhau and Chivalry as well.
Looks like its worth keeping an eye on Maybe minority opinion but I'd like to see the models stand up a little taller, always bothered me a little that Mord player rigs looked like they were trying to bite their own knees when acceling. Chiv handles this pretty well imo.
Yeah I agree. The bending at the waist line like makes it look extremely weird. Chiv 2 definitely have the movement/animation or whatever you would call it much better than chiv 1 and mordhau. Makes games look really broken when a sword is being swung whilst trying to lick their own boots. Definitely worth keeping an eye on, early days yet and lots of opportunity for fine tuning the alien movement.
Short and Soter Dave in the casual baby mobius matchmaking pool? Based on chivalry 2 skill level of these players (low) that is the perfect place for them to be.
They called it "Alpha test" but it's just garbage. Unresponsive binds, huge recovery time. Overhead windup time is an illusion, it does not exist. Animations are even worse than Mordhau's Zwiehander has. Turncap is a joke it does not exist either. Bugs are incredible - you could actually deal double damage per swing just by performing 360 degrees swing. Reversed attacks are thing now too, just bcs there is no glances and good windup time. Just hope it'll be updating, but it's unplayable
A: it's a small team of developers doing this for free on their free time B: Way too early to be making judgements like this, it's very clearly a tech test... C: the game is free... Forever bro lol
Fair enough but they said the playtest will be out until official release, so I guess you could just consider it an extremely transparent development team
missed opportunity to say it’s morbin time
Missed opportunity to get laughed at
The flute rendition of “Through the Fire and the Flames” really brings it all together
lol
i remember the movie a bit differently
as do I

It's much simpler than Chivalry 2

I don't believe they could be combined well. One or the other.
Chiv2 has Chambers technically with counters
chambers are a gamble mechanic
Looks like its worth keeping an eye on

It's because in Chiv 2 you bend at the neck instead of at the waist like in chiv 1

Wait does this game have *DragonForce - Through Fire and Flames* flute cover as default soundtrack or did Dave put it here?
Looks super good, but I’m hoping that the animations will be less choppy in the final release. Will for sure play this when it comes out nevertheless.
I'm sure they will
If spine breaking drags will be possible in this game it will die out like Mordhau
perhaps
I agree. There's a lot they can improve from mordhau, the broken swing manipulation being the biggest part of it.
Short and Soter Dave in the casual baby mobius matchmaking pool? Based on chivalry 2 skill level of these players (low) that is the perfect place for them to be.
Unfortunately, they forced this upon me
how is it different to mordhau exactly? after watching for a few minutes i could mistake this for a mordhau map/mod that removes textures lol
A new type of block has been added, Deflecting. It restores stamina but has a shorter window. Also, chambering is removed.
@@SoterDave sounds pretty cool. is animation abuse a problem?
@@kube410 at the moment I believe so but it is an issue they are actively tackling
hell yeah
looks dope
Did anyone notice the music is through fire and flame by dragon force?
I did!
Cant wait for this game i cant play, 😔
Unfortunate reality
Im confused. Does this game have anything to do with chivalry 2 or is this its own seperate entity and just the next FPS melee game coming?
Separate entity. Entirely different game being made by its own studio
well fought
How's it different from mordhau, As a newb it looks the same lol
No chambering and less of an emphasis on feints.
ngl, the combat looks clunkier than mordhau :O
It's definitely very early

I'll give them the chance to fix their game.
@@SoterDave Hopefully they'll do it

Personally, I'm stoked to see what it becomes
another vanilla mordhau "zweishitter" coper who has to read swing manip for the first time in their life (bufferhau doesnt have swing manip)
Not a single feint in the whole video, wtf
lmao I just don't do it much I guess
@@SoterDave its one of three available mechanics, u should use it. The game is all about hard reading feints
My name is soter dave
true!
no different then mordhau and chivalry put together. I do not like that you cannot hold block
I never expected to be able to hold block, so I don't mind
Mordhau 2?
Basically
it needs stricter turncap and solid miss detection for me to enjoy it long term
I concur. The turncap is way too lenient on counters, but they can keep the turncap on ripostes as it is now.
I mean, at least somebody made something new
True!
i think they shoudve waited. whatever that test was made me not want to play. it just didnt feel good
Fair enough but they said the playtest will be out until official release, so I guess you could just consider it an extremely transparent development team
now that he is dead he wont be the goat of this game no more lol
you never got to play it hehe big sad
