Not spoiling anything, but they nailed her story quest. Very easy character to ruin by trying to make some story with a cheesy redemption arc, tragic backstory, or misunderstood character plot line. Instead they just told her story, instead of trying to make up a story to explain why she is the way she is. And with the setup they did in that quest... there is going to be some amazing stuff coming in future quests.
The only complaint I have for her quest is how they legit spoiled It all with the promotional videos

Nothing that was in the videos was a big "shocking reveal" of sorts that was played up that way in the story, other than Paimon being confused Paimon (as always) freaking out about things. For me, it added to the feel of the quest, where we knew much more than all the characters, including the MC, did. They were seriously underestimating Father. If "she killed the past Knave and Clervie was her friend" was built as a climatic reveal, I would have been rather upset that they spoiled things. But that was just there as a plot device used in the story, and not the story itself.
@@DT-yw4ob It spoiled her past, but not her present. We didn't know how current Arlecchino thought about Clervie or Crucabena. The story wasn't so much about her past, but how her past influenced her present. I was expecting a more "vulnerable" Arlecchino though, but it kinda doesn't match her vibes. She's this charismatic, dangerous, aloof "Father", and I was expecting this was just a persona hiding a more ax-crazy and revolted person given Childe and Scaramouche's lines.
Arlecchino is the kind of parent that will die a thousand times before letting someone like Dottore anywhere near the hearth

I think that Freminet's relationship with Father is pretty particular. He is very sensible, shy and lacks confidence. Those traits, I believe, let him to need a supporting figure to look up to. That figure is Arleccino, his 'Father', but she's very strict and harsh, even if it's for the children's own good. But that demeanor of her, in someone like Freminet, must be very hard. It's quite literaly being scolded by the person he admire the most, his only parental figure, and the person whose afecction he seeks the most. And again, she doesn't mean bad for him, but since he's so sensible what would otherwise be a simple observation instead feels like painful words.
Freminet is the example of the undue loyalty that Arlecchino tried so hard not to foster in Lyney and Lynette upon bringing them into the hearth. As one of the last survivors from the old Hearth, can you blame him though?
@@Drennogga I didn't knew he is a survivor from the previous hearth. What I know comes from seeing his expressions and words when 'Father' is the topic and specially, the Thelxie event, the BEST event since I started playing, for me at least.
It makes sense, if it's as you said. I don't think Arleccino intentionatedly fosters that behaviour. Rather, it's the sad, unwanted result of a sensitive and unsecure boy, prone to isolating himself and needed of affection, and a parental figure that tries to keep distance, even if she believes it's for the best for the children.
And sure, her ways work well in some, probably most cases. But Freminet, sadly, is not a 'normal' child, but one with a desperate need for love and support that simply isn't being given to him 😿.

Considering her past and how much she despises Dottore (who is willing to do experiments on children), she’s dangerous, but I don’t think she’s a hypocrite when it came to her children.

I loved the further characterization of Lyney, his siblings, and the house of the hearth in this story quest. Imagine if they have an even bigger role to play in Snezhnaya. That'll be awesome.

The Children Singing she refers to are actually the ones that already passed away, too.
She reminds me of natasha cioara (aka raven) from honkai impact, despite a merc of world serpent, she also running a refuge for children to survive from the effects of honkai,
the difference between them is that the hearth had a set of rules to comply and it was also a hidden organization rather than a refuge to survive
Btw, her death voice lines clearly shows her care for the children, so as the three, it was rather intrigue to hear her death lines relevant

I love how no one gives a crap abt freminet, all the time he shows up ppl are always like “freminet? Like wtf u doing here?” Or when Lyney told him he had the “strongest bond” w him in the arlecchino quest to get him to trust him, and even when lyney/lynette die they say l each other’s names and freminet is just there like 😐
When I first heard Arlecchino’s fallen voicelines, I thought, “Welp, guess I better get good at the game because I never want to hear her say that again” 💔🖤🩶

She has different voice lines when the triplets fight her.
I'm actually shock about her backstory and character. I have Childe and Scara and I loved playing voice lines for the characters (even archons talking about other archons etc.) and Knave is posed as negative in both Scara and Childe's voice lines, but I think it's just because they can't read her. No one in the harbingers know what she'll do (but basically I think she can kill anyone for the house). Also I remember the 1 girl who is now posing as Gendou (the former fatui, the one giving fortune sticks in Narukami Shrine) she also didn't speak of good things about her (well she also didn't speak of bad ones) but it's like giving negative vibes on the Knave's character when you do that quest. Well atleast now we know she's not that bad, she cares for the orphans and ofcourse she tasks them to do some "things" for the intelligence network and for the Fatui but all in all she knows her priority
There is a possibility the Gendou girl didn't know the seat of the Knave had changed. Or she does but her mission is still the same "spying in Inazuma".
There's also that teacher of her manipulating so we don't know if it's truly Arlecchino herself trying to poison the Watatsumi or that guy doing things that previous Knave would've wanted to get in good shoes with the current Knave.

told ya, Hoyo wont break their cliche writing regarding the head of the orphanage or anyone related in managing an orphanage inside their game, Natasha, Raven and Arlech they all share the same thing, they all care for all the children around them and a total manace to anyone who they deemed as their enemy or hurt their children

Makes me remember the last time I was sad was because of another fatui harbinger, wanderer had a voiceline when he gets hit hard that says "I'm used to this" it's like he's saying he's used to getting hurt and considering both's pasts I love how the voicelines show their true lore accurate selves....😭🥺

Arlie, despite not being the same kind of monster as Fudo, can still be considered as a monster, at least for those who have her in their list of enemies
The first thing I tried to do with Arlecchino when I first got her was to go dolphin diving, since she's my first 5* Fontainian character and... Imagine my surprise when I saw that she couldn't. I was so confused 😅
Her vision isn't from Fontaine. She must've gotten it while she's in Snezhnaya. She also doesn't possess the Pneuma-Ousia function like her children.

Despite all the harbingers we have had as playable characters previously were evil, while arleechino is nice. Js a lil extra I might say, arleechino's ultimate is so cool, what makes it cool is when she snaps her finger man

Its depressing because shes the children only protector from the worst side of the fatui. If she dies, the previous cycle could potentially run again and perhaps lyney would end up doing the same as her
Which would be terrible because she believes Lyney could surpass her due to his life experiences under the house being different.
