I bought one of these for the queen bed in my rv and after the install, I noticed the same thing. I now run it on 12 volt eliminating the need for an inverter. Works great. Now looking for a bigger one to replace my 19" in the living quarters, its led but runs on 120 volts. Good video, thanks!
I have the exact same tv in my rv and i noticed the same thing. I bought a power wire that plugs into back of tv and usb on other end that plugs into a cigarette style 12v converter. The red light comes on the tv, but tv wont come fully on on 12v. Im thinking its not getting enough power. Tv runs on 120v fine.
It should have come with a 12 v connection cord with a cig lighter plug. Also the 110 v cord. That way you can use it either way. Of course you need a cig lighter 12 v outlet.
No, actually. There is only a need for a regular line to a DC 12V power supply. Minor fluctuations in low voltage current do not really have much of an effect on modern appliances. I have run mine for years and it is fine!
+John R I got this Auvio speaker from Radio Shack. It has an 8 hour battery life. I got it on sale for 50 dollars. Here is a link to the Google Search on the topic. You will not be disappointed in this speaker. It also has a headphone jack input so you do not have to use the BT.www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=auvio+bluetooth+speaker+pbt500
+Gordon Fuller In any residential electrical chord in the USA, the two wires are together and appear as one wire with two segments that flow together....However, one has ribs on the outer edge and the other does not. One is smooth. The smooth one is the + POSITIVE or HOT side and the ribbed is the negative or neutral side. An example of this would be a lamp chord. In a 12V setup, it really does not matter as the voltage is not high enough to hurt anything as long as you use a fuse inline. Never plug anything 12V into anything else that does not have some kind of fusible link that will POP when it is hooked up wrong. Simply replace the 12v fuse and all is well. If you hook up a direct current 12V wire to anything wrong you might have the wire catch on fire unless it has a fuse inline (a weak point to fail on purpose) In which case, no problem because again, all is well. Replace fuse and hook up opposite. :) So just always use a fuse inline. No problems.
it is a 720p TV so the picture quality is excellent. I would say yes. at this screen size telling the difference between a 720 and a 1080 is nearly impossible for most people.
Does anyone know how to turn off overscreen for this TV? The sides on most TV channels are chopped off some. I've tried both wide and normal screen settings.
MizzEviee IzMe That's due to the scanning rate difference between broadcast TV and whatever video camera he's using. The "waves" wouldn't be there in "real life" You sometimes see LED traffic lights flicker in dash cam footage - same frequency mismatch, To a human eye that light is solid.
Thank you, Terry. No I am not using solar panels. I have a small genset that is whisper quiet and I only use my rig for camping so it is just fine. With the technology that is available today, if I used this rig to live in I would DEFINITELY get panels. My 2 deep cycle batteries will power me for days though as I have turned every light into an LED and have my LED TV which will run for days.
I just got my RV Aug. 31 and have been working on it and also have changed all the Bulbs to LED and getting me a 12V TV and I have a 12V Fan etc.. I am going to take some trips next month and longer trips this winter and if it feels right. I'm going Full Time come end of May. We'll see but really enjoying it so far just fixing it up. Thanks for the info. :)
Well you can simply cut the power brick of the tv if it is a 12v power supply. Or if you have a different tv you can hook up an inverter to your batteries and it will convert your battery power into 120v ac power. Then you would not have to modify anything. I wired mine directly into the batteries because this tv happens to be powered by 12v. You can tell by looking at the back.
Jesus Serrato if you cut off the power brick and strip the wires, you can simply splice them directly into any vehicle 12v system. The same way you would do with a car stereo.
You could even just get a car stereo wiring kit with a fuse built in at any car stereo place and hook it directly up to that. then you wouldn't need any kind of inverter at all.
MizzEviee IzMe i think there is a setting you can tweak for that but i dont remember. I am not sure you can even buy this tv anymore but the main poi t is that if you have a 12v tv that has a power adapter box on the end of the plug, you can wire that directly to the 12v in any rv

Im trying to play the DVD & I switched it to component/A/V but it keeps saying check your source

Is the model number of the Element TV you purchased at Walmart ELEFW195?
+Jay Luna Yes as a matter of fact it is that model number exactly. AND I love it still.
I know this is late but wouldn't you need a DC-DC power supply for the TV to compensate for the variation in voltage from your batteries?
No, actually. There is only a need for a regular line to a DC 12V power supply. Minor fluctuations in low voltage current do not really have much of an effect on modern appliances. I have run mine for years and it is fine!
Where did you your speaker? I'm looking for a new 12 volt TV for my Cougar, but haven't found any that are loud enough for me to hear.

Thanks for the information about the speaker.
+John R No problem. Thanks for watching.
How long will the tv run on a 12 volt battery?
How can you tell witch is positive and neg after you cut the plug off? Regards Gordon

Great thanks for the heads up
Nobody will reply but how many hdmi input does it have?
what if you can't get all your channels in the TV what to do
never under your sink! lmfao.
Is the quality of the tv good like could I play video games on it and would it be good for it
it is a 720p TV so the picture quality is excellent. I would say yes. at this screen size telling the difference between a 720 and a 1080 is nearly impossible for most people.
+jonah jackson Well, that all depends. It is a 720p TV. It is sharp and has a good picture. I really don't know what you mean.
Does anyone know how to turn off overscreen for this TV? The sides on most TV channels are chopped off some. I've tried both wide and normal screen settings.
I really don't know as I no longer own this RV or TV. Sorry.

For some reason I no longer have this issue with this TV once I moved it to another room and connection.
I'm trying to connect a DVD to it and I need help to put it on the TV don't know how to switch it can you help?
Eli Queentana all you need to do is use the remote to switch the source. make sure the dvd player is on.
+Project Pete. thank you
How did you mount it? I want to put one in my living room and don't know if I should put bolts through the the wall and mount them on the out side?
i mounted it to stud with a couple lag volts that came with the mounting kit
Project Pete what mounting kit did you use?
It looks kinda like it has waves running thru it 🤔 or it it justcuz its from recording it

Yeah., me too. About a year ago.
First time I've seen you. Great Video. You using Solar Panels ? I'll check your other Videos out. Thanks

How can I watch my tv using my rv batteries???

I have that same tv in my tioga walkabout!
kayakchrispy It seems to be a pretty darn good TV. Thanks for watching!
can I connect this tv on my semi wit a 300 watt converter
you do not need a converter for this tv if you cut off the power box and wire it directly. Yes, you could do it that way though.
+Project Pete thanks. wire it directly to what?

I just saw this post was from 2015 that’s the only thing about RUclips I don’t like is they don’t post the most recent first

Think you could go bigger . Maybe 32”
