Solution is to drive it more and also make sure the T stat is functioning correctly (most are wore out) a worn out T stat allows for the engine to take longer to heat up to operating temp as well as the oil. None of the mayo will make it's way into the engine without having to first going thru the air filter (highly unlikely).

Thanks man! New Sambar owner here and needing help with smoke in my air box. I'm hoping this will help. Mine is carb'd though, so I didn't know what the other hose was coming into my air box! That helps. Can I disable that hose? Smoke from the exhaust pours in, and now she's not running right.

right on!! congrats! so that is the exhaust hose to help heat up the engine when it's cold. you can just re route them houses to recirculate back into the muffler and the air box just close it off so nothing can get into through those holes. basically that thing has the flap that allows hot exhaust in to help warm the engine up quicker since it's carb'd, once it's warmed up, that flap inside the box will close. so you can just close it yourself. it'll just take longer to warm her up.
