ahhh nothing better then eating dinner and watching a timing belt video from MrSubaru
Brisket and fajita while watching a Mr. Subaru video! I love my Texan food lol
That's what I just did. Lunch break while watching the video to refresh myself on what to do.
Very therapeutic and calming to watch. No scuffed knuckles or swear words...impressive.
Lovers the Japanese subtitles even though I can't read a word of it nice touch
This Japanese is very accurate.
Good job!
Video approved LOL. Must be tough no talking in these videos hahaha.
Your pressurized cleaner sprayer, what is it spraying on the engine to clean it? And which crank pulley tool should I order? Preparing to tackle this in a couple of months when my Sambar comes in. Sent you some money for the videos, these are a godsend.
It’s just regular old brake parts cleaner. I made a tool for holding the crank pulley. You can order one from Japan, KTC CPH1, or use a chain wrench.
that Ko-Ken flexin ... how dare you sir! I'm totally jealous
We going worldwide out here!
Love the Japanese subtitles. And how tiny the engine is.
at 10:04, you show installing the side seals. I believe there are also some side seals near the crank and water pump. Do these seals come with the water pump or any other part? I cannot find the part numbers. Admittedly, I have not inspected the ones that are on my Sambar now but if I had to guess, I'd say those get pretty worn out as well?
yea im wondering this too
That's a nifty seal puller Robert!
Made by Lisle.
@@MrSubaru1387 I’m gonna have to break down and get one of those instead of using my little dentist type pick!
crank seal hit me right in the eye... made me flinch .lol
😂 😂 😂 I flinched too! 😂 🤣 😂 🤣
Very informative,where can I get a horn for my 1996 subaru sambar,Thanks
Great video and very educational
Perfect Video!👍
What is that tool you used to remove the crank seal? Also, what was the tool you used to hold the cam and the crank. The cam holder thing looked custom whereas the crank tool looked like a kit? Just learning. Thanks for the great videos.
Lisle seal pulley on the cam/crank seals. Company23 cam holder. Custom made crank pulley.
What is the part number for that seal removal tool? That's pretty slick.
nice touch with the subtitles...for a minute i thought my vpn was acting up. for you next show, try speaking japanese with english subs-:)
😂 😂 😂
it'll be a piece of cake. is subaru grooming you to work on their rally cars?
@@i.norman 2 Subaru dealerships wouldn't so much as give me a call back after interviewing... Highly doubt it...
Well, good luck on whatever you do...looks like you're doing something right - really, japanese subtitles? keep expanding your global audience
Very nice.....thank you
Yea Sambar content,
Hey, can't wait to watch this after the playoffs game!
How similar was this job as opposed to an EJ? or are you familiar with working on most any subaru engine?
Night and day different.
Where did you get the tensioner spring? I can't find one with the damper anywhere
Where are you getting your parts? Suby tech here as well just bought my first Sambar.
Amayama.com, Japanparts.com, or yokohamamotors.net
I have a question to ask I got a 2019 Subaru Forester sport that has almost 16,000 miles and it’s burning oil I going in for oil consumption test I know it’s burning like a quart like every 2,500 miles is there a way I can get a buy back for it being such low miles I figure it be under lemon law but their probably just gonna slap in engine in is there anything I can do or say to get my money back?
Best you'll get is an engine short block replacement under warranty.
Figured
I'm getting ready to do this job on my sambar, wanted to know what cam tool that is your using?
It's a Company 23 SOHC EJ cam holder.
Wonder why you have to rotate the belt two rotations maybe to seat the belt and tentioner ?
I just put that in there. To make sure timing marks align. Subaru says to do so on EJ series belts.
What impact wrench is that? Looks incredibly useful.
I was using the Milwaukee M12 FUEL Gen II with Ko-ken swivel nut setters.
It would have been better if Subaru had designed the water pump pulley grooved as well. With the belt also grooved on both sides. This way if the belt were to become oil saturated if would not slip on the water pump pulley. Ensuring the water pump is always effectively spinning.
what is the part number for the specific timing belt kit
for the sambar?????
What was that extension or wrench you used on the torque wrench in the tight access areas?
Called a torque adapter.
MrSubaru1387 great thanks looked all over but hard to find without knowing the name.
I don’t suppose they make any performance parts for Sambar’s?
There’s a few. Header, exhaust, etc. more parts available for the supercharged engines.
mr subaru do you recommend a 2010 subaru legacy boxer diesel 150hp. 17000 km on it???
@@martt.8159 thanks mate. i appreciate that 🤜🤛
What year is this sambar? 5th generation?
1994
First
2
Where you get the torque specs?😳
Service manual.
Does anyone know what kind of fuel injectors an 04 wrx has? Are they direct or port? Thanks
Port.
Vessel JAWS contest
Not sure why any company would not use timing chains other than being cheap.
😑😑😑
Everyone went to belts because of metal shavings. Chevy had a plastic gear to cut down on that.
Please talk
Next video will explain.
