In all honesty, some people feel like Beyonce deserves EVERY award that she is nominated for because she is Beyoncé. If she doesn't win, then no one is happy.

Both albums sold fantastic (it’s clear why Swift sells more) too. The problem is, why has the Grammys given AOTY to black artists less times than you can count on 2 hands?
Despite showcasing better music, at times. It’s deeper for black artists, R&B artists, rap/“urban” artists, in general.
Beyoncé swept every award show for like 6 or 7 years straight. She still gets plenty of accolades. She’s won more Grammys than anyone else. And they are still stomping their feet that she didn’t win one particular Grammy. The other artist have talent, too.
People can have great songs but horrible albums. Not saying thats the case in this but that's why they have separate categories . Just for the record, I'm still listening to Jodeci, Boyz 2 Men etc. I'm just speaking on what I noticed when I watched the aftermath of award shows. The passive aggressive approach by Jay Z is no better than what Kanye did. You will never raise yourself or your peers up by diminishing others, you just drag everyone down yourself included. As a member of the 1% Jay Z and Beyoncé should be uplifting others rather than complaining and tearing them down. It seems petty when their money could feed a whole a$$ country. The only thing I kind of dig about this jay-Z rant is that it could be a low key (far too late) fist bump to Kanye. She looks white these days and she certainly has white money and opportunities. I think they should be the last people to complain with all that success and all those awards.
I think they should speak up for someone less privileged than themselves who deseves an award and recognition, there are PLENTY of them out there. Musical talent (in the words of Jimi Hendrix) isn’t by color. Yea, Beyoncé is talented, but she cannot write her own music, play instruments, which means she’s an entertainer not a composer. Prince even said, “he makes music…” it’s one thing to be able to sing and perform to the music, but someone has to serve it up to you to be able to execute it. I love Bey, but I wish she would sit at a piano, strum some easy guitar cords (three cords is very easy), or write lyrics. Whitney Houston could sing the HËLL out of a song, but didn’t write; even though she could play piano, in her life she never showed us that talent. There’s more to being an entertainer, and MJ found that out after the Thriller album when its sales didn’t do that great on BAD in the USA. I love Bey, but we cannot always use racism to justify when we don’t get our way. Taylor writes, plays multiple instruments, and is a composer. That’s why she’s winning.
