The Arathi of Hallowfall hit Alpha like a storm of Light and metal. But the more we uncovered, the more down right insane their lore got. Not just a lost kingdom of humans, but an empire of half elves fanatical to the Light. On the other side of the planet! We’re breaking down the transmogs, interrogating their characters and seeing just how vast this new lore horizon might be. - Игры
As a longtime viewer I am super proud so see my books up in a Bellular video!!! Many many thanks for agreeing to help spotlight the series. So glad you've been enjoying it. To everyone who dives in, I appreciate you giving my work a shot. I hope you love the story!!
Just a day or so ago was looking at the series on Audible, and was thinking if should I go for it... When I saw them on Bellular video, I was (wtf) stunned. :D Well, now I have no choice :D
@@martin9202 Fabulous! Thank you for diving in - hope you love them
@Michael_R_Miller I'll check you out too, I'm a huge fan of eragon and as a fellow child of warcraft I love seeing peoples inspiration manifested.
@@XeroXenTruSin Awesome to hear - appreciate you diving into Songs! Hope you love it
Thanks for sponsoring Bellular and I'm really looking forward to digging into your series! Good creators helping good creators? With a hard magic system? SOLD! =D
Still blows my mind that there are space ships in WoW, but for some reason some rough seas have kept half the planet from us.
Like what?
Less rough seas and more magical induced fuckery me thinks
There is one spaceship, right? And I'm pretty sure the owners of it ain't gonna use it to help with some exploration.
@@GoldenGodman technically it belongs to the army of the light, who turalyon, the "fill in" leader of the alliance is the commander of. So, actually, yes, it would stand to reason that the alliance as a faction COULD send the ship to investigate. Its just a silly pothole as to why they don't because ofc, the ships existence is already pretty nonsensical.
@@XeroXenTruSin I mean, still. I like to think they've better uses for it across the Great Dark Beyond then using it to explore a single planet. Plus, I don't think lorewise the ship is just standing there in orbit doing nothing.
@@GoldenGodmanlol
I always assumed the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor where on opposite sides of the planet.
It is, they talk about the empire of Arathor the very old ones. We already can see Azeroth from space in the game
So It's basically a hunt for Númenor, right? A human empire gifted by the gods with knowledge and power, hidden somewhere in the ocean, that basically fits the description.
I think it will be more like seanchan empire and they will praise their emperor
It's the search for Númenor + A Voyage to the Center of the Earth
If there is a God Emperor of Mankind, we better be given the choice to follow him instead of the usual being forced to fight them.
I’m going with him. My life for the Emperors Will!
Well, the actual god emperor is kinda a bad option. So iam on the same train
Tbh, it would be a hella smart move from Blizzard to implement a "God Emperor of Mankind" in WoW. That way they could steal some of the declining fans from the 40k Universe.
Knowing Blizzard they probably will make them the Bad Guys just as much as the Scarlet Crusade is.
It’s 2024 and this game is made in California. He’ll be a flawless She leader.
The new Lothar woman seems cool but I can’t help but laugh at the tokenization. PoC, shaved head at the side, amputee, it’s just a checkbox ticker. Guessing theyll tick a few rainbow boxes while they’re at it. Just a cliche at this point.
Whats more impressive is that Bellular still using his new favorite word “cooking” 😂😂
I swear it's getting annoying.
It's quickly becoming unbearable, and I guess it's not just Bellular, because I swear I am hearing other youtubers using it more and more to say pretty much everything.
Just a note, then: it doesn't make you sound cool as you think it does. Just so that you know...
@@Alestheslet him cook
Better than "Lifelands"
For the Emperor!
This new "Light Empire" kingdom that descended from the ancient Arathi is starting to sound a LOT like Númenor, which was adapted in the Rings of Power. It's this split off group of immensely powerful humans who had a deep relationship with the elves that helped them develop far beyond other human groups. Pretty cool parallels.
Man, I'm so pleased for this ad spot. I've been looking for a good fantasy series on audible for a few weeks, and this has sated that hunger nicely!
Hope you love it!
Young man: No, my father didn't fight in the Troll Wars. He was a navigator on a spice freighter.
Old warrior: That's what your uncle told you. He didn't hold with your father's ideals; he felt he should've stayed here and not gotten involved.
Young man: You fought in the Troll Wars?
Old warrior: Yes. I was once a Dark Knight, the same as your father.
Funny you should say that, i actually got the eternal empire vibes from SWTOR expansion (the asshole dad with the two sons with yellow lightsabers).
reminds me of the bretons from elder scrolls: a race that has human and elf lineage, but doesnt consider itself to be "half elves", but they are different to the other races of humans because of it.
So we basically got Bretons in WoW.
Yeah, but also Númenóreans if we go for the Tolkienesque interpretation *cough* Arathi / Arathor *cough* 🤣
They have strong magicka regeneration.
I love the heavy Scarlet Monastery and Scarlet Crusade vibes (origins?) at work here along with the light and possible differences it could bring to Paladins. VERY excited for the new expansion.
One problem I am seeing..... is that we traded skepticism about unreliable narrators from the chronicle books....... for an undeserved total faith in unreliable narrators from every other team and every other source. We do not "know" that there is an arathi empire of half elves and half humans on another side of the planet. What we "know" is that a little girl who didn't know what was really going on when she stowed away on an Airship believes that there was some kind of storm or disturbance the crew of the Airship was failing to survive.....and that some mysterious Light magic instantly teleported them into an underground cavern on our planet. Given that it was Light magic and seemingly instantaneous teleportation.....it could have come from anywhere. From another planet, even..... or from our planet but in a distant future, or a distant past. It is entirely possible that these Arathi are not from our present timeline. Meaning they could be from an alternate Azeroth, or.....as suggested, maybe from the future of Azeroth and they were teleported back in time by the Naaru and their dimensional spaceships.
Since many consider Odyn to be an "enemy of all" ....and he has stolen (or been given) Light magic for his own goals in the halls of valor; what if some Naaru made a bargain with Odyn that granted him some borrowed Light magic in exchange for his knowledge of Time Travel magic which Aman'thul taught him before Odyn abandoned Aman'thul and got kicked out of his role as the previous prime designate? Thus, those naaru could have brought some human/elf hybrids from the future.... back here.....to be useful in confronting the Void who also violated time travel rules to manipulate events here? The Il'gynoth whisper of "the Light has made a bargain with the enemy of all" would seem very appropriate here.
Thus, the lore has not demonstrated to us that there is any other side of the planet..... only that there are strangely violent barriers way out at sea; which could just be magical gateways to those other timelines or other alternate planets or what have you.
Definitely the right way to go about seeding lore. Hopefully the Empire is not just a patch zone but it's own expansion.
Assuredly going to be its own expansion. If not directly after Last Titan then after that. They’re running out of empty space on the map to keep sticking random islands. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see a new continent on the old world going forward from Khaz Algar.
Ye or we visit it multiple times over several expansions, that would be fine too. Just dont waste the other side of Azeroth within a expansion plss.
Prediction: some of the Hallowfall Arathi will manage to get back to Avaloren at the end of TWW, maybe Anduin will even leave with them as an envoy, and they'll be MIA until the end of Midnight, when their armada will arrive at the eleventh hour to take part in Renilash and help us banish the Void. Then they'll help us unravel the dark truth of the titans during TLT, and Order will also fall. At that moment the Light will ascend to primacy over the cosmic forces and seek to wash over the universe. The empowered and emboldened Arathi Empire will launch a crusade to try to lay claim to all of Azeroth, and we'll team up with Faedrin and the "Hallowfallen" to launch a rebellion against the Emperor and restore the throne to the rightful descendant of Thoradin, with the Thalassian elves honoring their bload oath to his family line.
@@SuzakuXIs it the Quel'Dorei that made the oath, or is it just the Sunstrider line, with/or the Windrunner line? Blizzard can still change this, the Windrunner line is the military wing, and they were the ones who answered Anduin Lothar's call, and the Sunstrider line is gone with Kael'thas, so it really won't be a massive change, just a lack of 'details'.
@@jameschristophercirujano6650It's the Quel'dorei as a whole that are beholden to that oath, which is why Anasterian Sunstrider sent a "token fleet" to aid the Alliance of Lorderon against the Horde.
Alleria, herself, decided to bring her own detachment of Rangers because she thought the threat was more serious than her lords.

Yes, fantasy games have never taken from Tolkien before
It does seem like Numenor, lol. Although it will be different if their origins were just lost light fanatics, other than being called there by the Light.
You got me an Ascendant as I was looking for a new series. Hope it is a fun series
Really appreciate you giving the series a try! Thanks so much
Weird to comment on a ad spot but Eragon was the whole reason I learned to read!
Look thats a good youtuber where you also enjoy the sponsored ad just hearing eragon again added another year to my life
Why were they circling an island for days? What Island were they circle for days? Was the island guarded? Was the storm conjured or natural? What teleported them away from the storm? Where they targeted for the teleportation or were they caught in its crossfire and weren't meant to be teleported?
And here I thought we kinda already explored the world. I always considered Azeroth a Globe and not Flat, so to know that what we have interacted across such great distances already, and there is STILL a whole other Continent(Maybe more) that we haven't even seen because of their own isolation because of the Storms is crazy. Azeroth is a lot bigger than some of us imagine. And as some folk have pointed out, with the Army of the Light and their Spaceship, why haven't they found more out about the other side(s) of Azeroth? Or do we just ignore the fact they are still out there? Maybe they will come in towards the end of the expansion to help the potentially trapped Naaru in Azeroth? It's so cool to imagine what we could encounter!!
Funny how now that Steve is gone the lore is getting good😂

It's nice to finally get some Human lore in wow. I know they appear a lot but it's pretty rare their lore actually gets any development beyond Anduin and Jaina doing a thing here and there.
Thank you for making a video about the potential significance of Arathi half-elves!
Since high elves are descendants of dark trolls, whom are native to Azeroth, while humans are of Titanforged origin. These two distinct lineages of Azeroth have converged canonically since the troll wars in the classic lore from before the modern WoW. This unexplained lore has finally been addressed with TWW and I can’t wait!!
The worrisome part is having to remember we still have what's her names version of the army of the light to deal with (from WoD that seemingly has gone over zealous). If they show up on the other continent and some how align themselves with the Arathi, could mean future trouble.
How did "pretty please stop destroying our planet" get translated deep in your psyche as "gone over zealous" ....? I seriously want to know.
@@laertesindeed Go play the Mag'har Orc recruitment quest, you'll find your answer. Anyone and anything unwilling to pledge loyalty to the light was being massacred. A bit of a far cry from the "pretty please stop destroying our planet" scenario you painted.
@@Krim04 No, I already completed the Mag'har recruitment scenario myself..... that's why I know full well.... that Yrel was saying "pretty please stop destroying our planet" just as they jumped through the portal to join the evil maniac warchief in Orgrimmar. There was absolutely "NO" massacre of anybody about loyalty to light. You were not allowed to be light-forged unless you made the decision yourself, and went through the entire ritual in that alternate draenor. The orcs which Yrel was fighting just before they escaped were actively destroying the elements and ecosystem of Draenor. It was falling apart because of their actions.
@@laertesindeedThere's definitely an implied massacre going on. Yrel and Garrosh argue what's killing the planet, and there's no evidence to say either one is right. There's way more flavour text saying things like "Anybody that doesn't follow the Light is an infection that needs to be purged". I mean, they're frequently called heretics, and we know the Light on Azeroth isn't anything like that.
@@laertesindeed There really isnt any evidance of the Orcs destroying Draenor after we left. There is only one line from Yrel that claims that, and Grommash immediately refutes it and claims that it's the Light that is doing it.
The desire to wear a jacket inside disturbs me.
I feel like we are closer and closer to the end of the Alliance/Horde factions as we always knew them.
Devs, if you have something like that in your mind, at least have the balls to make some drama and make some swaps instead of making it free for all.

I’ve really been enjoying the War Within content! The way Michael speaks is a pleasure to listen to.
Awesome video bellular !! Very cool story line especially for alliance players. As a horde main do you mind talking or making a video how the horse fit into all of this? I’m learning so much about lore on your videos and just curious if there is some kind of horse tie in into all of this rich lore

The plate set is insane... Better than any plate tier thats been released so far! Also love the mail set, i can definitely make it work for a sweet survival hinter mog
Man I haven't been actually intrigued by new wow content since Legion. Cool.
When you were describing about the Arathi Empire in the video I'm reminded of the "the boy-king serves at the master's table" ... So, the boy-king could be Anduin, who seems to be searching for a destiny to call his own. Does he end up swearing allegiance to the Emperor of the Arathi in the end? So Stormwind is founded by the descendents of the Arathi. That would make Anduin a distant cousin of the Emperor, and if he has no son of his own, he could name Anduin an heir. If the Emperor is fighting the servants of Void, and seemingly now also Xal'atath, then the scene in Son of the Wolf, on the last page, may be High King Anduin who is not just the king of all of Eastern Kingdom but also of the Arathi Empire, serving "his father" (the one he found in the Arathi Empire) one last time. Everyone who speculated up to now, me included, may have thought that the "master" in the sentence was an Old God. But why not an Emperor with a lot more claim over most of the Eastern Kingdoms than Anduin has...
Side note, one of the people shown in the comic definitely looks like a Broken to me to be honest. Something I only noticed now after the Draenei heritage questline. Also, now they've found their home, they're not really exiles anymore. I had to look this up but if "Dioniss aca" means "safe journey" and "ei" in Draenei is "One" or "Ones" (Draen means Exiled) then "Dionisei" might be a good candidate for a new name, and have the youngest people start referring to themselves that way saying "I'm not Draenei, I'm Dionisei" which I based on the High Elf/Arathi quote in the video) meaning "Safe Ones." It's just an idea btw... Maybe the "Dionisei" become a playable allied race option after The Last Titan has played out, in whatever three part story comes next...
Metzen just started writing the recipe for the greatest cook ever 😂

Really cool sponsor, I'll be adding the book to my list to get after I finish the Malazan books
Baladar looks like a great Naaru ship. Larger than anything we've seen. So far I find the Arathi content somewhat underwhelming but it has its good points. I like the interior of the new buildings and their iconography. Their armor sets are decent and and the concept of Half-Elves is somewhat interesting if we get to play them. That being said, the story content is largely recycled ideas stretched too thin and probably will retcon more than I'd like. The one armed Lothar woman is basically a DEI Frankenstein and absolutely hilarious to behold. Personally, I'd rather not have recycled races like a new Dwarf, or a new Human, but Arathi lore could be interesting if there's indeed more to it than what we're seeing here. Additionally, the Arathi should be introduced by Turalyon and Anduin Wrynn following the origins of Anduin Lothar, himself. Finding out more about his history and where he came from. Lothar has been all but ignored in this game, and this would be an opportune time to change that with characters who have some sort of connection with him. Possibly even bringing together the original cast of heroes, Khadgar, Turalyon, Alleria, Danath, and Kurdran, taking a journey with Anduin Wrynn. I'd rather learn more about our old hero new and old faces than get yet another random girl-boss character. This is getting to be a bit much. I don't see much more of interest with this expansion, but hoping for the best.
Hahahaha. Did they get pissed when whatshisname jammed a sword into the planet?
They might not even know. The old gods all embedded in this side of the planet and everything the titans did was centered on Ancient Kalimdor. Gotta keep in mind that everything currently on the Azeroth world map is technically a single continent, just like 75% of it sank into the sea when the Well of Eternity exploded. There are other continents but as far as we know they weren't tainted by old god corruption and weren't ordered by the titans.
The sword must’ve surely penetrated through C’thun’s corpse, I wonder if that’ll affect something.
@@SuzakuX god that means azeroth is fucking HUGE probably more than double the size of earth
Did you say Dragonriders of Pern? I'm sold.
If Arathi become playable, it wouldn't make sense if they can be horde.
I could be wrong but:
ThoraDIN, not ThoraDAIN.
I believe the Arathi aren't from Lordaeron either, they're from.. Arathi. As in, Stromgarde.
Also, the new Lothar is not a member of the Lothar Dynasty. Her name is Lothar, because it seems to be a common or recurring name from the Arathi and later Stromic people, like John is for us IRL - IE, James John and John Mortimer both have John in the name but they're not necessarily related. Anduin Lothar was a descendent of Faldir Lothar, who left Arathi (Then Stromgarde) before the collapse to sail to and then help settle Stormwind. There isn't a way the new "Lothar" and the historical Lothars could be related, given the offshoot Arathi featured in War Within are said to have left around the time or even before Thoradin's rise (Year -3300) whereas Faldir was considered the last descendent of Thoradin and he left for Stormwind from Strom around Year -1,200 ish.
Dragonriders of Pern... Talk about a title I haven't heard in a long time.
fuck this makes me wanna resub so bad, like every new exp I end up resubbing but this feels so different, the nerubian return is so fucking tight
I've seen other people say this as well, but jesus I really hope we don't have to fight the god emperor. Would love to follow someone like that, especially as a Paladin main.
I would join this new Empire just to have those sick comestics.
It is interesting to see a one-armed model in game, and realistically we should've seen many of them before with all the war that happens, but on the other hand it's not very believable that a one-armed person would reach a high military position, or any military position, unless they had some way of magically conjuring an arm. So I feel like the one-armed people we should see in game should be retired and/or homeless veterans, rather than active officers.
Honestly this has some similarities with some expansion fanfic I made back in the day. I liked the idea of us discovering a new giant continent on the Other side of Azeroth, which would take several expansions to explore.
There would be a lost human civilisation (like this new Arathi Empire), giant battles over the fate of Azeroth between light, fel, void and light, much like on our side of Azeroth but we never knew of it, they would have their own heroes and all that. Aaah it was fun making those concepts / fanfics.
This "fallen star" thing that they keep referring to Beladar with reminds me a lot of the fallen star questline back in Legion, where unknown to us at the time, Xe'ra's heart was resting in our class order halls for the entire expansion before we pulled it out in a cutscene to awaken Xe'ra in the Antorus patch. I wonder if this giant star that crashed through the ceiling of the cave is the "heart" of a mega-naaru of some kind...
After Legion, which gave us the Void's view towards the Naaru as "misguided breathens", BFA showing us the fanatical Yrel, and DF hinting that there are more to the black empire than just "EVIL", I feel like Beladar could be the Naaru's way of imitating the Void Lords' strategy of hurling Old Gods across the cosmos to corrupt World Souls.
Xera is the most derpy looking Naru.
Those weird "eyes" on the sides and that goofy "smile" in the center
So Basically Hallowfall is a Childfriendly Version of Baldur's Gate Act2
I'm kind of in shock(in a great way) that I just heard Dragonriders of Pern get mentioned.
I love the fact that we could fill out the globe, finally.
It would be interesting to see what the Arathi would do when they get out of their underground kingdom and bring the Holy Crusade on to Azeroth even making Stromgarde their capital seat.
The round stained glass window around the 13:50 mark looks like one of the priests legion legendary skins. More pointing to Naru involvement?
As cool as all this new lore is, one thing bothers me; Velen didn't have any clue about a huge Empire of the Light or a Naaru on his own planet, but could sense things happening across the cosmos? How did any of this Arathi stuff sneak past him? I can see everyone else being clueless, but you'd think Velen would have sensed the Naaru in Beledar ages ago.
Unless maybe it ISN'T a Naaru...
May be light decides what to let him see, and what not. They can pull some random explanation when time comes xD

@@Lahiss hmm, that's something at least. Have you seen any statements about new visage race variants? I don't remember any, after DF release...
@14:45: What the heck is the "Midnight Expansion"? Never heard of that.
The Arathi have killed any reason to expect the AU Draenor Army of The Light to make a return to the plot.
I mean. I can be linked to it too. I can even be a pre-patch to the light empire thing. Like Yrel coming from Dark(or Light at this point) Portal, we fight her army, she gets a vision sending her to meet with Emperor and we get new group or mix-race enemies: Empire army, lightforged draeneis, lightbound orcs, probably some light elves and some new humanoid race.)
@@Effelon sure they can force them in, but why bother? We have a fanatical light army on Azeroth already. Whatever narrative role you can imagine Yrel would provide can now be performed by the Arathi Emperor
And we don't need her for any lightforged versions of any other race either.
Honestly the Arathi have much more depth and reason behind them being zealots of the Light than making Draenei light crazed and evil when they weren't in WoD.
Good
You act like they won't appear in a future expansion 😭
Hell, I'd expect to see the backside of Azeroth within the next Saga (After TWS Saga) or two.
If the arathi come home they ain't gonna be happy
It would be really cool to have a powerful counter faction opposing both Alliance and Horde testing both factions resolve and reinforcing the Horde/Alliance peace
The new story seems super interesting, though I hope they explain what people on the opposite side of the world thought when that sword was plunged into Azeroth.
Uh oh bell the hairs slipping

Blizz is definitely going in the right direction with this. I'm actually becoming mildly interested in the new expansion.
New Plate set there is absolutely stunning. Still got nothing on Tomkeks T2 paladin remake :D
So... we're gonna be questing bathed in the light of Bellular, the great crystal in the ceiling?
My question is, why has the Vindicaar not seen that there is land on the other side of Azeroth (e.g., at the end of Antorus)? It seems like the draenei could just teleport to their airship and land on the Emperor's continent without much issue...
Dare i say it, I am actually starting to have hope for the future of wow.
It’d be cool if they gave us an option to follow this empire to make another faction
Yea, if they want to destroy current factions, let us join Holy Empire of Arathor.
So the Arathi are basically Blizard's take on the Bretons from Elder Scrolls, both being a mix of human and elf.
I’ve been taking a shot every time he says cooking for the last three days and now I have to go back to treatment.
Can you make a compilation video?
All the arathi's with an arcane signature died when teleported by this light? What a coincidence
I am thinking beledar is like the old gods but the ligths equivolent
but still want more about naru and when they turn into their void forms, because thats a big plot thread we have never actualy gotten much about other then "naru are the ultimate force of the light, but lol they go evil soemtiems :)" and it feels like we need to actualy meet a dark naru and be told wtf their deal is and how/why they just flip flop between "good" and "evil" with noone explaning it -.-

Isn’t Anduin also a descendent of the Lothar bloodline? His grandmother was Anduin Lothar’s sister.
The crystal is probably the tip of Sargeras's sword.
Not even the same part of the world. It's a naaru crystal.
My prediction is that the Arathi will come across as very severe, traditional and edgy. Anduins entire redemption will only manifest with shoring away, or otherwise wearing off that edginess.
This New found Empire and Landmass is kinda the same idea as visiting an Alternative timeline of Azeroth where the horde never invaded.
