I didn’t need any transit visa in both these layovers. It’s still safe to ask the staff while you’re giving your luggage. Visa for Istanbul is anyway easy to get online so it shouldn’t be a problem.
Search for ggg stay in Germany they are a whole organisation thing if you know and they can range from 200€ to 800€ anything and just between 200€-250€ you will get more than 50 stays which is pretty good, search in Google, hopefully it helps if you can't find the right link lemme know

They’ll just ask you for your University acceptance letter and the duration of your stay. They might also ask you to show them the proof of where you’ll be staying once you reach there
