What struck me about this really good performance is how long ago it was. It feels like a very long time ago, almost like another life. It makes me wish that they'd play the mandolin and the Rickenbacker again. New can be good, but some old things never go out of style or lose their excellence.

By then, the genius of the two of them was already an obvious, proven fact... Thank you, Julie!😍😍🎸🎸

Larkin Poe's beginnings in a small venue, but it was already clear that they were destined to fly high

Talk about a postage stamp stage!!! Did Chad have sit down under that staircase, then have his kit built around him?!?!

Wow. How old is this clip Julie ? Only last week, I was in my local bar, similar in size to the venue in this video, and they had live music all day. Afterwards, we were asked to suggest any bands for next time, and I laughingly said to try booking Larkin Poe ! Extreme wishful thinking indeed. I'm guessing the days of seeing them in cosy settings such as this are long gone, so thanks for sharing this little gem.

I think think this was 2012. I saw them in 2018 - and it was only about 200 people. Great show.

Hi Julie, thank you very much again. I love these visual gems from the past. The ladies were real cute girls a dozen years ago.
Luckily I have all these music tracks and I keep listening to them when I need some soft Blue Ridge Mountain music.
Do you know anything about the musical connections between Southern Appalachia and Norway? I only know about the Iro-Scots who settled this region.
There are lots of Norwegian musicians who are playing Bluegrass and related music.

If you really want to see them in a smaller setting, keep your eye out for any shows in gaming places like Reno and Las Vegas. The casinos will pay performers a set fee to perform at their venue, so the ladies don't need to think about head count. There was an advertised show in Reno back about 5 or 6 years ago where they performed, and there was no admission fee. I'm sure that the casino paid them for their performances there. Actually, the losing gamblers paid for the performances.

Nice thought, but getting to places such as Reno or Las Vegas are almost an impossible dream for me these days - that's a long way from eastern England ! Just more envious now of folks who had that chance, but smiling anyway at your explanation of how that came about. But I have seen them live over here twice in the last 9 months, and hoping it won't be too long before they are back again.

These days I see too many performers cancel shows so traveling to see shows seems like a bad idea, I had two bands cancel here this year..

This is so far back, Panda doesn’t have the extension piece.
