Todd Christensen was an underrated player. Played multiple positions, really had big numbers as a TE. Should be in the HOF. It's hard to believe he died so young. - a Browns' fan
I was 20 years old and in the US Navy stationed at Moffett Field naval air station in the Bay Area of northern California and was watching this game on TV. I was born in Cleveland and a big Browns fan and my friend, who was from LA and a big Raiders fan, was watching the game with me and was talking crap the whole game. Those were fun times!
I was 20 days into Navy boot camp in San Diego. First time ever seeing this game. 😂 All we had was newspaper sports page on Sunday, and mail to find out scores.
Thanks for posting was at this Game as a Raiders fan living in Ohio. I was 10. we left early but saw the end of the game at my cousins house. Nosebleed seats I think my Dad got from a Browns player LOL for not giving him a speeding ticket.
Damn, I loved Municipal Stadium in Cleveland. It’s “ghetto” look made it so cool, as well as the baseball infield being present … in this case, you can still see the outline of the infield being later in the season when the Indians season was over
The comment shortly after 1:26 calls attention to a rule immensely helped defenses in an era that was becoming increasingly “offensive” friendly. I am a Cowboys fan and I always said if you go back and look at how the 2 Cowboy CB’s Larry Brown and Kevin Smith played, they took *full* advantage of that rule. They were very good at looking back at the QB while absolutely *molesting* the poor receiver trying to get open behind them. A large reason the 1993 Dallas Defense allowed the fewest Yrds/Catch and swept San Francisco in the 2 meetings that year.
In 1985 John Jefferson played in 7 games for the Browns. He totaled just 3 catches for 30 yards. Despite being only 29 years old he would not play in the NFL again after the 1985 season.
It was quite the flame out - he got into a couple of contract disputes, but for awhile was absolutely one if the most dynamic WR for a 4-5 year stretch. Jefferson, Lofton and Coffman was quite the trio for a few years in GB. Still surprising he couldn’t hang on for a few more years.
I never understood why so many ppl thought M Wilson should’ve played over J Plunkett. Plunkett was a winner - wasn’t always pretty but he got the job done. Wilson often threw untimely INTs
Could that part at the end where Marc Wilson waiting for the crowd to be quiet be the reason Marty Schottenheimer HATES the Raiders… that whole waiting period for the crowd to be quiet was a little excessive… I grew up in Oakland and absolutely love the Raiders but I hated Marc Wilson
Rogers was a really good player. Being a Raider fan, and being from L.A., I remember him in college, he was a monster. Too bad the coke was flowing freely through a lot of the professional sports leagues back in those days.
Was wondering if you got Browns at Raiders 1986 27-14 my Raiders!!!! Till we return!!!! OAKLAND!!!!!! RAiDERS!!!! Faeva!!!! PS Raiders at packers 1987 20-0 Raiders...thanks...🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🦏🐘🦍🐅🐆🐊🦈🐬🐳

@@ChiefMac Long before Direct TV and the internet 🤣
are you Ernest Byner you look like him
Thanks for this classic Raider game!
Classic Browns Game
The last vestiges of the Raider Mystique being more than words.
Yup...We have milked our legacy to the bone, to the point where the current team is irrelevant.

Thanks for uploading
Bill Cowerd on the Browns sideline 😎🏈
Thanks for the game
Please don't ever delete this video. This was my first Browns game and I've since lost the VHS tape I had this game on.

I never knew Lofton played for GB until I started watching some of these old games on RUclips. He was excellent in GB
He blew it in SD and the whole "I want a new contract" B.S. If he would have just stayed and STFU, S.D might have won a S.B
Lester Hayes predicted that Jefferson would fail after leaving the Chargers
@@kevinbarry7475 He was right!
20:10 Trumpy was fairly clairvoyant with that statement.
If we only knew what would happen in '87 in Denver
Man I used to love the Dawgs high 5 celebration after a 3 & out as a lil kid damn what shoulda been SMH
The Browns/ This was the year the Browns should have gone to the Super Bowl. It's a dam shame!
As a Browns fan so typical... best part was Chiquita and Trump calling the game.. and the BEST Ben drieth as the referee!!!
Bob Chiquita...... 🤣 LMAO
39:13, WOW did Howie Long ever get the jump on that play and just wrecked Kevin Mack
Even being a Browns fan, I can definitely say Howie did house my dog Big Mack on that play LOL
Not that awesome a play... Harry Holt couldn't block anyone.
I never understood why so many ppl thought M Wilson should’ve played over J Plunkett. Plunkett was a winner - wasn’t always pretty but he got the job done. Wilson often threw untimely INTs
Wilson was a interception machine. Thats all he threw. He always had more interceptions than touchdowns.
Dawg Pound woof woof .You got to love those Cleveland fans
The Dawgs!!!
Good assessment by the commentators of bad time management by the Raiders just before the half.
I didn't know you can run in a extra point for one point
You could pass in the ball for an extra point on say, an errant snap, too.
I was 9 years old watching this game. What year did they start delay of game penalties? I thought it was always a thing.
2022: fouls on both teams, the penalties off set, replay the down. 1985 foul on both teams "wipe em out"!
That was funny as heck 😂😂😂
Could that part at the end where Marc Wilson waiting for the crowd to be quiet be the reason Marty Schottenheimer HATES the Raiders… that whole waiting period for the crowd to be quiet was a little excessive… I grew up in Oakland and absolutely love the Raiders but I hated Marc Wilson
I wish Al Drafted Marino in 1983 The Raiders definitely could have won more titles but he committed to sorry Marc Wilson 😢
Big goofy gangly ....
Chris Rockins made a couple 'im not very intelligent' plays in this game. 😐
If Don Rogers hadn’t died before the 1986 season, the Browns probably stop Elway’s drive and make it to the Super Bowl.
Rogers was a really good player. Being a Raider fan, and being from L.A., I remember him in college, he was a monster.
Too bad the coke was flowing freely through a lot of the professional sports leagues back in those days.
Trumpy was NOT a Browns fan. Always showed favoritism towards the other team. He played for the Bengals. Imagine that
What is this, tennis? Stop the game because of the crowd? That's home field advantage.
Criqui
Horrible calls at the end. But great game
@2:24:56 Wilson's throw was a good one. Not a great one. Should have been caught in any case.
Mack and by her 1000 season
Ernest By her
Scum vs Scum 😂
The beginning of the Dawg Defense and short 7 year dynasty for Cleveland
I thought we had this game when Mack scored but Marcus Allen and Todd Christianson was the truth at this time period
Marc Wilson was a horrible qb.....they should have started Plunkett in that playoff game agains N.E.
