For a long time now I have been fascinated by astonishing time lapse sequences that amazing photographers have made. Gradually my interest in time lapse photography grew so deep that I decided to make one myself.
But its no easy task for somebody who is new to photography itself. Nearly after 6-7 months of practicing various photography techniques required for this mammoth task, I gave it a try. which resulted in my first ever Time lapse video.
Luckily I happen to live in iconic and beautiful Ayers rock Resort ( Yulara), in Central Outback Australia. This place is world renowned for the monolith landmark Uluru and its clear dark night skies. Filming time lapse here is such a privilege and I feel really lucky to have got this chance.
It wasn't a easy task though. More than 8600 images were shot and 5220 of them were chosen to conclude this video @ 30 frames per second. First sequence for this time-lapse was shot on 28th March 2015, and the final sequence was filmed at world famous Sounds of Silence site on 27th April.
Weather played spoil sport on many major occasions and hindered the filming process, although at times it surprised and rewarded fairly in return too. It was a challenging yet exciting and good learning experience for myself shooting these various sequences round the clock.
I must admit that I do have special interest in night sky, which I think you will figure out while watching the night sequences when they march into Milky way madness, showcasing its full majesty.

Can you imagine seeing a night sky or a sun rise before understanding what it was .

We need one night in the year where it is illegal to turn on any lights.... just so people everywhere, can see the beauty above them

May I ask where this was taken. Planning a trip to ayers rock resort and was wondering if I need to go away from the resort to avoid the lights and see stars?

It's mostly light pollution. There are so many more stars visible with little light pollution. In cities, around 15 stars are visible with the naked eye. In places with very little light to no light pollution, over 3000 stars are visible with the naked eye. Also, different parts of the world view different parts of the night sky, so Australia can see a very different space landscape than England in the UK as it's on the other side of the planet.
