NOTE: Unfortunately Stop can't be extended by buff/debuff extension, so it has only 3-8 second duration and that's it. I was wrong but after seeing [Dur.:8sec] [Ext.:3sec] which always affects abilities that can be extended, and it being present on Stop as well, I incorrectly assumed you can extend Stop just the same. Sadly it's not the case, so in my opinion Cid looks even worse now.
They're targeting the demographic of players that you mentioned with Cid, namely the people who want to compete for top 20 in solo ranking events or perhaps even in certain guild events. His best general use right now is with his "Kuja" and his limited banner, where you need to massively debuff the PATK/MATK of a boss. I feel they could have altered the choices slightly, such as making his weapons apply stop repeatedly with diminishing returns instead of once, or having enfeeble on more than just his limited weapon at his release and then letting his limited weapon's excellent R abilities, additional ice debuff, and great general purpose outfit do the "selling". I saved for Cid expecting a new, game changing mechanic with his release, but this isn't it. I went two cards deep, am happy enough, and will look to use him where I can, but I wouldn't blame anybody for seeing this and continuing to save or going back to a remaining banner like Tifa/Aerith's. I mean, the 1.5 anni isn't that far off and it can't hurt to have too many crystals in the account...
Cid is mostly going to benefit whales and krakens. For most others his benefit is little in return to investment value. At least that's how I see it. Akinamori for instance is currently using Cid's kit to do some interesting clears on previous content.
He is a huge benefit for both F2P and whales, even with just OB 1 LB weapon and getting his debuff weapon for ptk/mtk. Thats my opinion on my experiments. Only works if Players have the weapon at least OB1. Most likely most players wont since they pulled on Aerith/Tifa New Year banner. hashtag Kamura :)
I ended up pulling for Cid but I have some pullers remorse, he'll mainly have a spot for ice content but he probably wont be brought to anything else, for now. I probably should have saved my gems.
Don't feel to bad. We can't have everything unless we whale but on a positive note you'll have about two months to save for 1.5 anni. Overall Cid is a new character so have fun with him. I'm thinking of just going for his skin and saving the rest myself. Bimut I'm waiting a bit to see how the rest of Jan will go
I'm whelmed. He's fine, but nothing special. I was hoping he would have the ability to go untargetable- like a reverse provoke. Simulate the dragoons jumping mechanic. There's not really anything from cids original appearance to back up stop, or enfeeble really
Oh no. You just made me curious and I tested Stop. Cid tickets weren't very kind to me, so I tested 3sec Stop with no buff/debuff extension and then with maxed out. On both Stop starts and ends exactly the same, so it's really even worse. 8 seconds at ob10 is insanely short and you can't extend it but it takes a 1 weapon slot which becomes useless after that one use, or long time to charge that limit break. Yeah. Now Cid looks even worse but honestly I have no idea why they made Stop appear like it can be extended with [Dur: 8sec] and [Ext: 3sec] which always points to abilities that can be extended by buff/debuff extension. Ehh.
Oh man was deff worth a check because now we know for sure. I really loved cid in the main game as well haha. Glad you got some good luck on his tickets though! I think I may snag the outfit just to have something pretty universal for him other than that I may save. I really hope we get a rerun of monster hunter when the new monster hunter drops.
Oh I didn't get very lucky on Cid's tickets myself. Half of his weapons are still purple for me, others 5*-ob2. I hope you got more lucky And same. I am desperaly awaiting MH crossover rerun to snatch Kamura. I really hope they will rerun it, and sooner than later.

This is why I usually go for Tifa and Aerith account wise. But I usually just pull with what I need on my account. I'm aure Enfeeble will be added more. But I usually get the first LB banner of each new character.

Are we sure stop is affected by buff debuff extension? I only ask because in the help section it’s under conditions

Cid is unfortunately mid
His starter kit is mid, but enfeeble makes him meta

@@Marzellus1991 i think enfeeble would be a lot better if he had pdef/mdef down weapons or more imperils, but as it is i find it a bit lacking
