Everyone complains about the green tint/ lean. Go to your white balance menu, click "advanced" then dial the camera to -7 which will add magenta. Or however much you want to add. Save through all of your presets. Done, no more green. Thanks for the video.

Recently got the Komodo, and now that I'm dipping my toes in the Red Ecosystem I can't help but want to dive in further. God I wish I had deeper pockets. Excellent review as well!

NICE! And thanks so much for watching! Komodo is awesome. I just did a shoot with Komodo and Gemini, will post video soon. Keep grinding and you will get there. I went from C100 to Gemini in less than 2 years. It's all about finding the right people to work with, having great customer service, and saving those profits.

Best review I've seen thanks. I'm considering the upgrade to this from the BMPCCK4, I think I'll keep this still as it will have its uses alongside the Gemini

Hey, Luke! Go for it man! One thing I didn't mention here either is I get jobs just because I have the Gemini. If you can afford it you won't regret it!

Can you explain why you used iso1600 on the gemini without backlighting (or was there bl?) while the monstro was at iso 1280 all along? Also, for such a comparison you should have put the 2 images side 2 side. I have to watch another comparison video now.

i own a Gemini too and i only can agree with the pros. LL mode is the best i ve ever seen on any camera. and i compared even to alexa classic.
concerning the costs: well.... someone tried to get an alexa for 28000? i think this quality for this price is a very good deal

Totally agree. I paid 20K for mine and have put in a few thousand more in accessories but you seriously can't beat the image. Thanks for watching!

Would love to get the chance to shoot with the Gemini ! It’s always been a camera I’ve been curious about using especially for that lowlight capability in a cinema camera 🤙🏼

I would highly encourage you to rent one if you have a project that you really want to invest in! The color depth and just overall tone of the image is SO good. If you want to use a few clips that I've shot check out the link in the video description, I included a lowlight shot that you can mess with to see how far you can push the lowlight. Thanks for the comment!

Great review! I'm currently looking at the Komodo an A cam option and wonder how the Gemini stacks up to it image wise. I look forward to testing out these clips!

Thanks! We are testing a Komodo soon and will post a review! My initial thought would be that the Gemini will hold up way better in low light and maybe have a slight edge in dynamic range. The image should be VERY close though.

I have a red komodo and I'm looking to get a Gemini in the near future. Whats the best zoom lens that I can get to work for both komodo and Gemini for under 11k?

DZO Film Pictor 12-25, 20-55, 50-125 $1,843. to $2,500 each. White version is more expensive.

I've heard the fan on this camera can be pretty loud. Have you had that problem while filming?

    • @Michael_Catron
      @Michael_Catron  3 года назад +1

Hey, CJ! When you first boot the camera up it sounds like a jet about to take off. However, within the menu there are fan settings that can help during recording. For example, you can set the fan speed to low while recording then when you aren't actively recording it will be really loud for a minute as it cools things down. I've never had much of an issue with it honestly.

@@Michael_Catron Okay. Thanks. And I'm debating whether or not I wanna get the Gemini 5K or the Komodo 6K.
Komodo 6K may be smaller, cheaper, and possibly more image quality. But the Gemini 5K has more frame rates and has that sort of "authenticity" of being a camera that'd be used for a big budget movie.
Plus, I've been obsessed with the Gemini 5K since I saw Corridor Crew's video of it being used as "the perfect camera".

    • @Michael_Catron

I would say it just depends on your clients and what you're shooting mostly. I use the duel ISO quite a bit on the Gemini. And to be totally honest having that camera does bring a certain level of professionalism to people who know what it is and also to people who don't. I can't even begin to count the amount of times people ask me about the camera or how much it costs when I'm filming. Like I said in the video also, if you can justify the Gemini for your business and can pay it off quickly then go for it. However, getting a Komodo first could be cool to get that RED color for your projects and then eventually get a Gemini as a main cam? I'm planning on getting a Komodo at some point because I do quite a few 2 camera interview setups.

@@cjkalandek996 Gemini has more dynamic range. and a bigger sensor. and is better in LL. so in my opinion it has its reason why komodo costs only 7000 and the Gemini (body) 20000
