Marshall is the only one of the gang that’s impossible to hate and doesn’t have a trait/moment that makes him unlikable
Agreed - he has flaws as everyone should but the rest of the gang has some dark spots that need some counselling
What would you say is the trait/moment of the other characters that make them unlikable? I feel like I often get annoyed with Lily/Robin/Ted but I can never really pinpoint what my problem with them is lol
Kristin Markussen Ted - cheats on Victoria with Robin, obsesses over Robin, dumps Natalie on her birthday (twice), etc.
Robin - puts her career before her marriage, hates kids, etc.
Lily - dumps and leaves Marshall for San Francisco, sabotages Ted’s relationships, etc.
Barney - manipulates and takes advantage of women, broke the bro-code, etc.
Cody Higinbotham All really good points! I wish they hadn’t done the whole San Francisco thing in season 1/2, I feel like it made me hold a grudge for Lily throughout the show haha.
Cody Higinbotham I do think it’s a little unfair to say that Robin not wanting kids is a big reason not to like her though. There’s nothing wrong with not wanting your life to go that way
he’s the only THOROUGHLY likable character on this show

YEAH! That was a good one and makes Marshall look like a total badass 👊🏻 well more so than usual lol.
This is why his dad’s death is the saddest moment in the series. Since Marshall is the nicest and most likeable character, and he’s close with his father, it’s heartbreaking to see a kindhearted character be so sad and heartbroken
People who have complicated relationship with their parent may actually as hard or harder time with losing a parent.
The look on his face when he asks "My dad's dead?" Makes me cry literally every time.
That scene crushed me and it was off-script too 😟😟

That's what I was looking for, thank God I'm not the only one who thinks it. Also, that tima when he brings Lily to the altar so they can renew their vows, it's one of the sweetest things at the show

Some that should have at least made it to the honorable mentions if not the list:
1. Asking Robin to move out. (how this could be omitted baffles me.)
2. Punched the crazy bartender (while Barney ran away might I add.)
3. Dropping off Daphne to her daughter's speech even though she was mean to him throughout the season.
4. Giving Tracy the talking to she needed to stand up for herself.
5. Creating an entire board game based on determining whether Victoria is "date-worthy" for Ted.
Also, bonus Marshall knows Ted so well that he made him dye his hair blond.
Marshall did nothing 👏🏽 wrong 👏🏽he just wanted to help the planet and marry Lily. 🥰

All of these times Marshall was the best friend on How I Met Your Mother insures that Marshall is someone you either want him as a best friend or be in a loving relationship with him, especially the honorable mentions as well. He’s definitely a better friend for Ted, unlike Barney. Please make another list regarding this topic about Marshall, Ms. Mojo. I think you missed the best one when Marshal moves out from New York he comes back to the pub at 3 in the morning just because Ted called him in the same episode when Robin broke Ted's heart he asks Robin to move out of the apartment.
