Always look forward to your chatty videos! Love that ghost light - so cute 🥰. I repacked my decks and books and…yes, I have a problem. RUclips also definitely steals my time - the amount of consumerism is starting to seriously wear me down. And the Death card is stalking me! So I think it is time I cut out the caffeine, sugar, buying stuff and watching cat videos, unboxings and BookTube and actually DO something!
I have been so torn about picking up any from this series! I love the new artist, but I agree, I wish the keywords were the only thing on the cards, rather than the full phrase. It would be so cool if Rockpool released a pocket version of this series with keywords on the cards.
Hey Mixtress❤ Labels of the key words can be used to cover those word salad descriptions but it's time consuming! That's what I did ;) *It's inspiring and nostalgic to hear about your flip phone experience. Happy Halloween 😽🧡
You should check out the poem Golden Retrievals by Mark Doty, written , I think, at the end of the nineties...we hoomans just cant seem to get "present" ...love your videos, good work on embracing self care, very inspiring!
I bought the Yule one last year because I really needed something to "get me through" another xmas season. The titles are a bit meh but okay, but oh my god did I hate the poems. So I took a black marker to them and then wrote the keywords over them in silver ink. Now the deck is at least usable and really 'mine'. I had no interest in the other decks in the series but I caught a few cards of this Mabon one in someone else's video recently and I immediately recognised that it was different. It seemed to have more depth and the artwork was more appealing. I didn't get a copy this year, timing wasn't right, but I intend to get one for next year.
Love this! I don't have any of these decks, but I do remember seeing flip throughs and hearing the creators saying they didn't like the Samhain & Yule decks because of the different artist and poems on the cards. You have every right to brag about your accomplishments! ESPECIALLY no sugar! The bane of my existence. I battle the sugar addiction daily. It causes so much inflammation and pain in my body, which is a blessing, in a way, as that is the barometer that tells me if I'm off the wagon or not. 😊 I made a major diet change in August and feel so much better. It's HARD, but so worth it! 👏👏👏💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼❤️❤️❤️ A pinch of cinnamon goes a long way in sweetening things a bit. 😂😂 I wish I could tune in to your radio channel but I am with my mom Friday nights (she's 90!). And hey, a little wine on the table can be thought of as an offering. 😁🍷❤
I feel exactly about the Mabon Oracle compared to Samhain and Yule as you do. I have - or had- the Litha deck bc it has the same artist as the Mabon deck, but I ended up giving it to my daughter because I just couldn't connect to it in the same way. I also have the Beltane deck featuring the first artist Giada Rose, and it is okaaaaay, but not a favorite. I know they have the rest of the sabbats complete now. I think the last one released was Lammas, but I reeeeallly didn't like the "poetry" and the statements on the cards and decided I definitely don't need a complete set. I don't like to be so prescriptive with my decks. I think I prefer the Mabon deck and I think it is a good fit for Samhain too.
I love this deck. I do think it’s special. I do also love the Samhain one and the Beltane. I love both of the artists used. I wasn’t interested in the others. Im wondering if it’s the romance that you are seeing missing in the current goth ethos? To me gothic energy it was always about beauty. If beauty isn’t there it’s not goth to me. Finding the beauty in the darkness. Oh! One thing I had to get over with this deck that wasn’t in the Samhain oracle was the use of the term higher self. I just don’t like that term in a witchcraft oracle. I just decided to ignore it because I love everything else about it.
@@MixtressRae You’re right. Ultimately I just thought it was an ODD choice. I was under the impression that it was a New Age term. I know there’s some overlap but it feels disconnected from the type of witchcraft the oracle focuses on. Oh well! It’s not a big deal but I absolutely did notice it and other areas of witchcraft media where New Age ideology has bled into the modern witchcraft movement. Just an observation.
Congrats on your accomplishments! 🎉 actually sticking to the year's resolutions is no small task

@@khan7459 Exactly how I have been feeling over the past few weeks while the Death card stalks me 😮

Yeah I don't enjoy the "higher self" part either, but I get that it's difficult to use a term like this without it being alienating to SOMEone.
