  • With nearly 150 aircraft in its fleet, Singapore Airlines (SIA) serves five out of the six inhabited continents from its hub at Singapore Changi Airport. Recently, the mostly widebody carrier absorbed group subsidiary SilkAir into its mainline operations and has been flying the Boeing 737 to numerous regional destinations.
Now, in 2023, the carrier continues expanding its widebody fleet while cutting back on some undelivered 737 MAX 8s. This video will examine Singapore Airlines' mainline passenger fleet as it currently stands, while also checking in on the status of ordered-but-undelivered aircraft. So, let’s get started!

Probably more issues with staffing and passengers per flight gate on the 737 Max order changes. It's really hard to up the passenger count with smaller planes without: shrinking gate times, keeping the plain closer to 24/7 in the air, and/or massively expanding the fleet of smaller planes. Filling 100% capacity more often only matters so much when you could get better mpg per seat with a longer plain. Especially of you can fill a larger plane.

My favorite in Singapore Airlines fleet is the Airbus A380, Boeing 777, and even the Boeing 747 400F. My analysis is actually 15 Airbus A380 in SIA fleet with 10 active and 5 parked

Lmao the SIA a380 is a cattle class-the seats are narrow, not enough legroom, and is beaten in comfort by the SIA 777’s seating configuration.

Did Danang-Auckland just before Covid when the 737-800s were still Silk Air and I gotta say I had the best onboard service I've ever had for a short distance with them. On the mainline SIA leg, outbound to Auckland was an A380, return was a 777-300ER. Of those two the A380 was slightly better, although I was in the 2-4-2 upper deck economy section rather than the 3-4-3 main deck. Will be taking the A350 in a couple of weeks flying Saigon-Los Angeles return; interestingly both legs are A350s according to SIA's schedule, so will see how they stack up.

As a sucker for the A350 im rather saddened that my favourite airline will no longer be he largest operator of my favourite plane but atleast they will still be 2nd or 3rd largest operator. Overall not much changes from last year but a good fleet composition

My favourite SIA aircraft would either be the Airbus A380s or the Boeing 747-400F cargo aircraft operated by SIA cargo :)

Tge Airbus A350XWB-1000 is Currently the World 2nd largest Twin Engine Aircraft than its Rival Boeing 777-300ER.

the a380 is all mainstream and hype UNTIL you actually have flown in it and realize how much of a sardine tin can it is. You got 300+ passengers in economy in 3-4-3 configuration, the seats are cramped, the legroom is cramped, and I can verify this as the 777-300ER they have are a lot comfier, and roomier per seat than the a380's cattle class.
So stop watching all these RUclips videos--go fly with Singapore Airlines' a380 and find out yourself.

Emirates is keeping the A380 way longer! Unlike Singapore Airlines NOT flying A380 to Melbourne and New York anymore. Emirates will do so for Longer!

737-MAX, don’t you dare leave the “MAX” behind. It’s not a 737-NG-it has some engine-chevrons and that Max-wingtip so we all know that’s a 737-Max!
Like the saying goes: you can wrap sh!t in a luster chocolate foil and spray it with some glade aerosol, but it will still be sh!t in the end.
