yes! you had a real bargain. The way to tell what count your peach and blue fabric is to count the number of holes per inch. That will give you the count per inch i.e 14 count or 18 count or higher. There is fabric called evenweave which comes in lots of colours. This can be hard on the eyes so always work in good light. My tip for working on the black Aida squares is to put a white cloth across your knees or have a white tablecloth on the table while you work as this shows up the holes in the material. Happy stitching !
Great haul. The Herrshners grab bag was well worth the money you paid. The only problem I could see is if you end up with a lot of things you might not use but the magazine and the apron are well over the cost. You can tell if it's aida if it has defined holes and blocks, linen has just threads that you count over. If you run a thread through the fabric somewhere and then measure an inch away you can count or use a magnifier to count and find out the stitch count.I take a fine point needle and count off the threads or blocks one by one to get the count. Even weave is just threads but with no slubs or irregular sized threads. My favorite to stitch is 28 ct. evenweave Lugana. I was a little afraid I wouldn't be able to see well enough to use it but once you get a few crosses in you just have to match the ones next to it and you're off and running. The Victorian Sampler has some sweet little free patterns and some are biscornu too and they'd probably fit on your 6 in. squares. Brookes Books has a cute little free pattern called Hoppy Halloween that has a stitch area of 5 by 3 in. and is on 28 count It uses Zweigarts Cashel Linen but that will still work on your linen. It's stitched 2 threads over 2 threads on the linen. Happy Birthday ! Have fun with your haul trying new things.
Thank you! Most of the grab bag I will be able to use. Thank you for the information on how to check the count of your fabric. I would have never thought to do that. Also, I will check out the websites you mentioned for free patterns.
Awesome buys!! I think that package is definitely worth the price, just for the fabric, charts and magazine alone it would have been great but you got a whole bunch of other stitchy stuff too! And the mardi gras (?) baby yarn is so sweet!
+Khristine Doiron Thank you! I really liked the package. It had some really nice things in it. I love the baby yarn. Love the colors! Thanks for watching!
Great haul!!! And I'd say the surprise box is worth way more than 14.99. Cross Stitch magazines can run $10-$12 alone, and the apron is worth at least 10.
I think the surprise grab bag is worth more than what u paid. Just the fabric makes it worth it. Can't tell about the fabric but could it be lugana? I couldn't see it very well. Nice haul.
Thank you! I'm not sure what the fabric is either. I will try to figure it out. It 's nice fabric. I wish they would have put what the fabric was and the count though.
Great haul! Amazing color of light blue fabric!
Thank you! The color is beautiful and just the perfect color to stitch on.
Lots of goodies for your birthday!!!
I was able to get a little stash built up and look forward to using everything!
Hi Sonya, Great haul with your birthday money. Enjoy everything.

Thank you for the belated birthday wishes! I feel like I have somethings to work with now.
Great haul... I would say little ornaments would be great for your 28 ct grab bag!! Have fun with it!!!
Thank you! I have found some little free patterns that can be stitched on 28 ct. so I will be giving those a try.

Happy Birthday. Great haul. I agree with the others, the grab bag items are worth over $15.00, as long as they are items you can use.
Thank you for the birthday wishes! I will be able to use almost everything. Not to sure about the plug covers.

Thank you! I'm glad I didn't over spend on the surprise box. I know the cross stitch magazines can get real pricey. I appreciate your thoughts!
I think your grab bag is definitely worth $15.00!
Thank you for your thoughts! I'm glad it was worth what I spent on it.

Hi :) I couldn't see if anyone answered your question about jobelan, but it's pronounced Joe-ba-luhn
Thank you for letting me know the correct way to pronounce it. I knew I wasn't saying it right.
Yes, Yes, it look's like it is worth more than 14.00 dollars to me.
+Laverna Green Thank you for your opinion. That seems to be what everyone else thinks too. Thanks for watching!
