Misinformed Sovereign Citizen Gets Informed On The Law

- On February 15th, 2023, Officer Lorek was on patrol in a mall parking lot when he observed a white Nissan backed into a parking spot with no front plate in Orland Park, Illinois. He parked next to the Nissan and checked the rear registration which appeared to be a fictitious California temporary paper plate. The paper plate had been folded along the edges and was not a uniform size. He cross-checked the VIN on the paper plate to the windshield window VIN and found that they didn't match. He then entered his patrol vehicle to inquire about the plate number and both VIN numbers. He learned that the last registration plate tied to the VIN on the windshield came back suspended, and the VIN on the temporary registration came back with no record on file. While he was conducting his research further, he observed the lights click on and off on the Nissan and observed a male and female approach the car.
What is the point of me paying $221 to renew my vehicle registration and paying $55 to renew my license when people like this get their cases dismissed? The judges who dismiss these cases should be removed.
Only certain people don’t need to follow the law, but the rest of us do. If it was me, my guess is I’d be booked

@@matthewla16 Firstly, I do not "let" my rights be trampled on. Second, you cannot travel freely without a valid driver's license and your vehicle has to be registered within a state. That is why this guy and others get caught by police. I suggest you educate yourself on what you need to legally drive in this country.

DA's have limited resources and understand the consequences of repeat offenders far better than us. I don't think we have any business claiming they are the problem. Bear in mind an arrest, a blown tire and impounding a car (which requires license and registration to get back) are more troublesome by themselves than a misdemeanor plea.

I hate it but I think the main reason the charges were dropped was probably because it was an unlawful detainment. Yes, the vehicle's registration was all mismatched, but he was in a parking lot. That's private property. As long as Florida laws work the same way as here in Illinois, the officer should've camped out the vehicle, waited for them to return, and followed them until they hit a public roadway to initiate a stop. Detaining them in the parking lot on basis of their vehicle was a major fuck up I think.

A lot of charges get dropped, even most charges, especially when it's relatively minor offenses things like this. It eats up the court's time and they are already overburdened so it's often too much of a headache to actually go through the court process to prosecute people like this, especially given the fact that sovcidiots like him deliberately exploit the court process to drag it out even longer than it already is or needs to be.

If they find it is not correct, altered, stolen, or any other plate than what belongs to the car, it IS probable cause to make a traffic stop, regardless of whether or not it's in motion. You don't even have to be in the car. I DO actually know the law. Google exists. If they find a problem, they can look for you or wait for you. But it is probably cause to then pull you over. It can be classified as a misdemeanor offense. For instance, if a sovcit has a "not for commerce" plate, they have knowingly altered the tag and that can even carry stiffer charges. You sarcastically calling me names doesn't make me wrong. I wouldn't hold your breath on them even being half as hard on judges or DAs! We all need to become more politically active & start holding them accountable. Here in Florida, we have elections for judges and nobody knows who in hell they are. I've stopped voting for someone I don't know and hopefully people that do know them will put the right person behind the bench. Telling people who you are and where to check your record should be a law. Good comment by you & others.

Here it takes 3 strikes or so first like charges were dropped because they agreed to pay fines hat don't count as charges for first offense by 3rd strike they tow it normally or on the 4th but no one wants to pay more taxes so they proscute this shit sooner they want them to prosecute minor crimes less to save tax dollars then bitch when they do it here. You can't have your cake and eat it too but people try here all the time sigh.
