    I was there that night. In my top 3 best sets I've ever attended and I did a lot in my time. Wonderful. They also showcased True Faith for the 1st time. I was sober deliberately so I'd remember it. Not sure Barney and the gang were though. Magic memory. ♥

    Imperfect perfection. This performance is actually genius and way ahead of time.

    The full set was released on CD, vinyl and cassette as New Order BBC Radio1 Live in Concert. 3 tracks were omitted in the release Elegia, Ceremony and Sub Culture. This was also the live debut for True Faith song.

    Never knew there was a video of this performance. By the look of it the cameraman is as drunk as the band!

    The late, great Eighties! Back in the day, in Philadelphia USA, there was this Great record, er music shop and I bought this bootleg cassette and it's easily their best version of it I have heard. Thought the music video let all the air out of the song in spite of the group doing a satire stunt dressed up and the like. Anyone out in the wasteland heard a better version? If so, where can BIG & HUGE NO fan hear it?

      The 1987 Hacienda version is incredible. It's not the best audio quality but is by far their most passionate performance. Just search for it on youtube.

      Also check out the "alternate mix" which is basically the way they performed it live but a studio version. It is much simpler and raw. Also on RUclips.

    I’m not sure if this is slightly sped up by the old tape, but I’ve seen a few videos at this faster tempo. and tbh I’ve always loved it that way

    • @sitedrm
      @sitedrm 6 месяцев назад +1

      It's not sped up, this is how it sounds on the CD release of the performance. It works really well at this speed, this recording is actually my favourite version of the song.

      Joking or what? that was New Order preteding to be a 80´s Glam-heavy band (ruclips.net/video/T9M_bqIB6EU/видео.html), and this is the real New Order without customes.

      Ian couldn't either but it worked for them. Bernard sounded better around Technique because he had singing lessons
