CAN YOU USE A LADDER TO TRIM A TREE?

First and foremost, all this work can be avoided if you have a bucket truck and chipper.
with that being said, you can climb from the bottom to the top for this particular palm. this is my 3rd time I pruned this palm tree. (Washingtonia filifera)
but I wanted to use a ladder to get to the top, tie myself in, and start the pruning job.
there are plenty of ways to do a job like this. This is just one example.

I would recommend to use a strap for the ladder to secure it tightly in place once you reach the very top, I've thought of this over and over because my Mom has Queen Palms but we don't have the ropes and harnesses.

Also; it would help for you to rappel down rather than climb back down. More efficient and less labor on your body.
