Congratulations for never dropping a Name of the Rose callback into this review, haha! I kept waiting and waiting, will she do it will she do it, but no! Not a hint of it. Good stuff. There's also a book that goes into the printing details of Shakespeare first editions that I'd like to read. You probably already have it, would be worth a review as well!

I haven't heard of this one, but absolutely right up my street, so glad you've highlighted it. Have you read The Gilded Page? I really loved that fairly recent book on the topic of illuminated manuscripts, and learned a lot, especially things I hadn't considered like the interest of patrons funding them.

I didn’t know I needed a book on medieval manuscripts until now❤ I felt curious when you talked about all they used from nature to create such beautiful manuscripts and illustrations ? I am not too familiar with the topic. Thank you for the interesting review 📔👌❤️

I went to the Book Of Kells exhibit in Dublín a few months ago, it was amazing!

Sarah J. Charles is somewhat in your debt, I'd tell her, for such a thorough and lively review, including the smells of the gold paste and such.
