I grew up in the US (telugu parents) and cannot sing at all, but have loved listening to Carnatic and Hindustani music. I'm not criticizing Sid's talent, but this is not the way this Kirtana should be sung. It is very rough and almost angry sounding, if I may. The kirtana is one of the gems of Sri Tyagaraja Swami and is meant to be a soulful rendering of Bhaktha Tyagaraja begging his Lord for moksham. Again, there are no disparaging comments regarding his talent, but if you don't understand the Bhakti Bhava of the song or don't understand the lyrics, it makes it difficult to appreciate. 🙏
Simply superb! Hearing Sid Sriram ' s presentation takes one closer to God. Me never tired of listening to his wonderful Kirtans because it makes me ecstatic. May Lord Ramachandra ever bless him🌹
