"Pinocchio(Live)#3" takes the Italian fairytale
in reverse, presenting the metamorphosis
of children into puppets. A small, lively, colourful gang gives way to a factory-like world where ten Gepettos are busy commoditising a troupe of children, to a percussive soundtrack. With fixed gazes and inanimate bodies moved by strings, the new marionettes create the perfect illusion. The embodiment - or rather, the disembodiment - of children as identical, mass-produced creatures is a disruptive challenge to our preconceptions. Fascinating and disturbing in equal measure.
