In this family farm video, we embark on a crucial mission to protect our barn's concrete floors from the wear and tear of our beloved farm animals. Witness the dedication and hard work as we clean and seal these floors, ensuring the safety and longevity of our barn.
But that's not the only challenge we faced on this farm-saving journey. Our cherished 3 barn cats, the new residents of the barn, became the center of our concern. The decision to relocate them in the garage was driven by our genuine worry for their safety in the presence of the sealer chemical vapors.

This morning I watched your video for kids. Recently I became a retired teacher of 37 years. Teaching elementary students to college students.

As soon as you get a area done with sealer, you need to clear out the materials and seal the middle too, you never know when you will have animals or need to bring animals through the middle, they almost always pee or poop on an unused area to put their scent on it.
With Sylvester, Bramble and Biscuit being in the garage.......Brooke's Mom will have full access to those kitties!! I wonder how many she'll want to take!!😅

I know that Brooke was talking about building a climbing area for the barn cats......they've done that for themselves!!! It might be kind of cool to add some "steps" (like shelving) going up the wall that connects the milk room and the stall closet to the milk room.......that could work as a "ladder" or "steps" going up to the top of the milking room......
- - SATURDAY MORNING KIDS SHOW - - Me and my 3 year old grandson - very much enjoyed the show!!! Brooks suggestion of having a color page that goes with the show - that's a great idea - a way to continue the education. The child can tell what he learned!!
It is surprising how flexible the kittens are. I think as long as they are all together they would be happy no matter where you put them.
The sound of rain on the barn roof was so peaceful, loved it.

Will you be sealing the rest of the barn too? Like the middle part? It would be a good idea, as it will keep it clean. Especially if your going to be keeping vehicles in there. It will protect from oil stains too.

Good morning! Totally enjoyed seeing the kittens. I just wanted to make a suggestion. Cat's don't like to eat where they potty. You might want to move their litter box across the garage. Brooke, I have the same sensory migraines from strong smells. I don't go down the coffee or laundry detergent aisles in the grocery store for that specific reason. Y'al have the best day!!!

Oh the rain is a joy to behold! In Texas we have not had any rain since May! The ground is yellow/orange and crunchy. We can only water two days a week after 7 pm. Scary!
Great job on the barn. That's a lot of work. Jason, please, if you do more sealing, you need a better mask.🙏 The one you had on is just for dust particles not vapor. 🙏 Get a dual cartridge reactive charcoal respirator made for organic vapor, better yet, one with a full face mask so you don't absorb vapor through your tear ducts!! I just retired from the automotive paint industry and a good respirator is a must for vapor!! But remember to keep the mask sealed up. The charcoal will break down otherwise. I just want you to be safe. ❤ Jason,You have a new dance now. It's called the shake ❤
I thought the same thing. Jason kept commenting how strong the fumes were. How thoughtful that he protected Brooke and the kittens from breathing those fumes, but he did not protect himself. I bet reading the advice/recommendations on the side of the sealer container would change that. No one wants to see you getting sick down the road, especially after your bout with the tick bite. Please take better care, Jason.

Just a suggestion, my milking stand for my dairy goats is wider than average. That way, I can "sit" on the side while I milk my girls. I snuggle up to their flank while I milk with both hands. In the winter it's really comfortable, but it's a bit warm during the summer. Quicker milking during the summer. HA HA!

That's a good idea moving them to a vapor free environment. It wouldn't take much to have seriously goofy or deceased cats.

FYI: Cats like their water, food, and litterbox to be separated by good distance.
Also a water fountain style cat waterfall is better for them as it makes it easier for them to drink.
Jason, that dust mask is for dust particles. A respirator with a cartridge for chemicals would be best for protection. When i worked underground we often had terribly strong ammonia odor in the blasted ore. We used (organic vapor-removing) cartridges to protect us. They contain activated carbon that adsorbs organic vapor gas or vapor molecules from the air being drawn in.

I think I would seal the entire barn. You’ll have lots of things like equipment going across that floor. It’ll be easier to get stains up from diesel and what not. ❤
