"PLEASE don't breathalyse me!" | REAL drink drivers CAUGHT on police bodycam

  • Durham Constabulary has today released bodycam footage in a bid to urge people not to drive under the influence.
It comes as roads policing officers once again take part in a national campaign to target drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol over the Christmas season.
From today, November 25, officers from the force’s Roads and Armed Policing Unit will carry out random vehicle stops and intelligence-led enforcement in a bid to remove drivers who are under the influence from the roads and keep people safe.
Police will be out morning and night to catch those who may be flouting the law and putting others at risk.
Inspector Kevin Salter said: “Whilst we tackle this issue all year round, it is more likely at Christmas time that people may get behind the wheel after a drink.
“It is extremely frustrating as a roads policing officer that some motorists still choose to drive under the influence of drink or drugs in the knowledge that their actions could kill or seriously injure someone else’s loved one.
“Drink or drug driving is completely unacceptable and preventing this risk on our roads is one of our main priorities.”
Drivers risk up to six months’ imprisonment, an unlimited fine and a substantial driving ban if they are caught driving while above the legal limit. Anyone who causes a death while drink or drug driving faces up to 14years’ imprisonment.

I lost two of my closest friends in car accidents, killed by drunken drivers.
If you are the pilot of a vehicle, you are responsible. Imagine, any pilot of a passenger air line would show such a behavior, the whole social media mob would go wild. Sitting alone in your car, doesn't mean, there's no one around.
Don't drink and drive - don't text and drive - don't play games with lives. Then, the criminal is you!
    Thank you for this campaign.

I am sorry for your loss, but if someone is killed by a driver whose ability to operate tonnes of dangerous machinery, in public, is affected by drugs, medicine, alcohol, distraction, poor eyesight, or tiredness, then it is not an accident, it could have easily been prevented.

These people make me sick. They don't see their drunk driving is criminal.
I received a phone call yesterday from a family friend to say his adult son is in an induced coma due to severe internal injuries, his daughter has 15 broken bones including 8 ribs and her neck, and their friend was killed instantly. They had been innocently travelling as passengers in a taxi in Leicester, heading to the Radio 2 live in the park event on Saturday night. They never made it due to a drunk driver who wiped them out. Their lives, changed forever in a split second by a very selfish person.

I wonder if the driver was an older male. Men aged 50 and over are probably the group most likely to drink drive (it was generally thought to be ok back then) although they won't necessarily have the most accidents. FWIW, the peer groups of my younger children (25 and 22) are absolutely dead against drinking and driving.

This is brilliant so powerful. When will it get into people’s minds just DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE!! It’s so easy now get an Uber or walk or a train or bus or even take turns nominating a skipper. It’s not that hard.
It not only destroys families of the victims but also sadly of the drivers. Way too many people die from something that CAN be fixed.
I wish young ones before they got their licence were made to go to the morgue or hospital and see the results of drunk drivers.
But it’s not only the young adults it’s all ages so maybe real life clips like this may get thru to some. I genuinely hope so.

When I was a young man (now 67 retired) I used to drink drive, I couldn't see the harm in it as I felt in control but now I know there was no way at all I was. One morning I woke up in the driveway with my head on the lawn and my feet in the car and I never drove with drink again, I was lucky and stupid, very stupid. Everyone did it back in the early 80s. Many of the guys now in the village pub drink 4-6 pints and drive home, most drive for a living, only two have been caught in 15 years I have lived here but they do it every night, its a small village and they get away with it. I have not been back to the pub since lockdown ended. I now like a glass of wine when I cook for my wife and I and maybe a can after dinner. These people will never change, they say they will, they think they will BUT another night out and one day they will do it again. Next time it could be prison for them if they hurt someone, then their life will change dramatically , I have heard stories from ex-cons that I have employed to help them, nice guys and girls, maybe only a handful over the years and their stories would make these drink drivers nails curl, sex abuse, harming, extortion and death. One had a nice little amount in savings but lost it all to the thugs inside. Don not do it evewr. Its not worth it. Do it at home.

I used to smoke weed and drive but one day a motorbike went into me even though i was completely in the right headspace and it wasnt my fault i was drug tested at the scene because of the smell coming from my car i tested positive and had my bloods done at the police station. after waiting months on end for the result i contacted the arresting officer and the police officer who was in charge of my case left the force and i got a no further action. I was incredibly lucky. to anyone reading this DO NOT SMOKE WEED/DRINK and drive it is 10000% not worth it at all just wait until you get home or stop completely. i stopped smoking cannabis from the day i went to the station and i havent touched a joint since. learn from other peoples mistakes. Also it really confuses me when people get caught and start being aggresive and start shouting at the officers it doesent help a single bit and if you are respectful and crack a few jokes and realise what you have done it makes everything a million times better.

Alcohol and driving don't seem to be taken very seriously in the US. AFAIK, there are various categories 'under influence' and 'while intoxicated' although I haven't worked out how that's worked out. And, an incredible number of these charges are dismissed when they get to court (again, it's not obvious why). If convicted, people get a period of 'license suspended' which seems to be largely ignored with many, many drivers continue to operate regardless.
In the UK it seems far simpler - over the limit: automatic ban minimum one year. Very high alcohol levels 3-4 x the legal limit are a serious aggravating factor. And that driving ban isn't negotiable; get caught ignoring that (particularly if alcohol is again involve) is a common route to prison time.

      Good morning,
Today I spoke to Durham Professional Standards regarding an investigation IO Hill undertook on my behalf, on a small sample of multiple accusations by me into criminal behaviour by DL ‘police’.
From Sept2017 I made repeated requests for an appointment at DL station to inform them of their criminal behaviour (the use of SDS-type agents provocateurs, domestic surveillance, organised gang-stalking, etc.).
I have tried multiple times to contact the PCC (incl. In person at Aykley Heads, postal letter, text message, recorded ‘phone call, ‘phone call, via their site, & multiple deliveries to DL station with the request to forward: I have over 30 receipts for information I’ve delivered to DL station, for themselves & for forwarding, incl. To IOPC & HMIC) not a single one of which has had any response.
It took 20months to be given an appointment at DL station, c.June2018, which was held in a cell. Sgt Louise Guest & inspector Chris Knox being present, & which lasted approx 90minutes. Nothing came of this.
Subsequent to this, twice I drafted documents listing my accusations: the first with PC Clarkson 2902, in which I’d requested speaking to a cop, in an interview room, during which I’d asked to be recorded [siren goes-off outside - this is the electronic surveillance, 3:30pm, 7Feb] which he did on body cam, during which I asserted the crux of this letter/complaint, presented a print-out which was signed & declared as testimony. Nothing came of this with no record being made, the document binned & I assume the video deleted. I did much the same thing shortly after with Acting Sgt Banks, who I believe forwarded the document up the chain of command or to the PCC. Nothing came of this.
The agents provocateurs was ‘Lisa Round’, 18 Eskdale St, DL3 7DG, June2013-c.June2018, immediate neighbour to mum’s home, 20 Eskdale St. I assume the name was false (an Amazon delivery) as per a ‘legend’. This was the same set-up I had experienced in NuT, May2011-Ap.2013, 23 The Pines, immediately above my flat, No.17.
The basics of what is being applied to me amounts to terminal blacklisting - psychological corrosion, indoctrination, injurious attacks & novel technologies. The use of ‘cutouts’ used to be prominent, but soon after moving back to DL, what I call the plausible deniability of the ‘outhouse’ was moved in-house (ie., reduced general stalking, to increased specific police stalking).
The above represents virtually nothing of what has & is being implemented against me, but there’s a very interesting feature about it - that I believe even within the ‘police’, there are indications of what I’m told is a “layer cake/onion” to the actions being taken against me, ie., different degrees of information being supplied to those working against me (the press would refer to this as ‘monstering’): I am certain that Knox knew more than was supplied to Guest: agents provocateurs provoke; this was the case with ‘Lisa Round’ very frequently wall-knocking (for eg., or door-slamming, or shouting, etc.) in time with the domestic surveillance & towards corrosive psychological operations (the ‘pressurised environment’ that ‘menticide’ - mental murder, operations require - of being watched & ‘commented’ upon, constantly, by the ‘apophenic’ wall-knocking): I was accused of noise harassing her, when the fact was the reverse: Sgt Guest was informed of my misdeeds, in the absence of knowledge of the fact that it was in fact me being noise harassed. Sgt Guest acted in good faith upon information supplied to her in bad faith. I believe inspector Knox was fully cognisant of this, as per that “layer cake”, & is the cause for so many of my complaints being simply ignored. (Example: I had cause to make a written complaint during the covid lockdown about the behaviour of Thorpe(?) on reception at DL station; 2 weeks later at 9pm one night, sitting quietly in my home, a sudden BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG on my window - 3 transit vans & coppers at my door for a “reported breech of covid lockdown rules”). This, & the 4:32am sudden lights & siren drive-by’s past my home to the line on tv “We’re taking you down”, has the tendency to - as they say, “send a message”.
As I say, there is far far more to this, but this is something to be going with (NOTE that for years I had no Password function on my email - even the tech-bod at Darlington Library who I was friendly with couldn’t find it: this I am told, is “bubble/landscape of lies”), so I have no expectation of you receiving this, or me receiving any legitimate reply from yourselves - as over 30 receipts for given information supplied to DL station by me I think attests.
Almost every single time I make such accusations in person, I receive the response, including from Knox, “Where’s the evidence/no evidence”. (The fella on reception at Aykley Heads was clear about something: “car” is an old & ‘strong’ reference theme for which I can expect a siren to suddenly go-off within hearing distance, as & when it appears on tv/radio/RUclips; he told me that he was a retired cop, but had been formerly involved in investigating fatal car/road accidents - “-but only the fatal ones”, which struck me as odd: I’ve had countless instant sirens sound-off to the likes of “You’re going to your own funeral”. I have daily incident logs for the last 8yrs or so, with thousands of these weaponised ‘coincidences’.
Knox called me “psychotic” during that appointment, & lied to IO Hill about it, simply denying it. An hour after this appointment, he ‘phoned me saying he’d spoken to someone & they’d suggested I read a book, ‘The Day the Voices Stopped’.
My mum died of a stroke; agents provocateurs purpose is to cause stress; stress [siren outside 4:09pm] contributes to strokes. PC Horner had called some months earlier stating that RIPA had been applied to mum’s home because of the ‘noise harassment’; mum spent the last yr of her lie watching tv with the subtitles on & the sound down because of this - she wasn’t anything like hard of hearing. PC ‘Don Estelle’ Horner lied & denied this.
The blokes at DL station seem to be very different to the women, & there’s an interesting series of news stories consistent with this currently & for some time (Banks is a ‘WPC’ too, & unlike Clarkson - she did the right thing: Clarkson took it upon himself to put the kaibosh on my accusations - surely grossly unprofessional conduct).
I’d very much appreciate an in-person meeting.
      Yours sincerely,

The UK and Ireland have the highest levels of permitted blood alcohol - 80 mg/l (equivalent to 0.08 in US and other nations' units) in Europe. Most other European countries have a maximum level of 50 mg/l (0.05). Some eastern European nations have specific levels according to the age and experience of the driver e.g. that newly licenced drivers must have a blood alcohol of ZERO..

You are correct to a point.
Actually the limit is higher in England. I know that this sounds like semantics, but if you check out limits across Europe, the Scottish limit is fairly standard.
In fact some countries have even lower ones, and specific rules for certain drivers (new drivers, Hgv drivers etc).

Zero sympathy for drink drivers, but for all those proposing "zero" tolerance fo alcohol in the system, it is impossible to do that fairly. The reason being that there are simply thousands of people who work closely with alcohol who will always have a small amount in there system due to their work. A couple of examples are engineers or chemical workers exposed to things such as Isopropyl Alcohol and similar products which can be ingested by breathing it in whilst working with it. Another (admittedly rarer) occupation such as a wine sommelier, or wine importer who will regularly 'taste' wine before spitting out'. Both examples (and there are many others) which whilst well below drink/drive limits would still regsiter alcohol in the blood when tested rendering a 'zero' level monstrously unfair! That said, I'd like to the level reduced to those similar in most European countries which sit well below that tolerated in the UK!

    • @lmaoroflcopter
      @lmaoroflcopter 24 дня назад

Yet Scotland is zero tolerance, as is many other European countries.
Breathalysers test for ethanol. Not isopropanol or propan-2-ol. If a sommelier believes they are sober and being unfairly punished, they have the option of a blood test.
So no. Despite your long diatribe, its absolutely fine to have zero tolerance, as indicated by a number of countries who have adopted such laws.

    • @ouiouipiggy4390
      @ouiouipiggy4390 23 дня назад

@@lmaoroflcopter I gave a couple of examples, but there are many others where absolute zero would cause major issues, but thank you for correcting me regarding ethanol, notwithstanding the arrogant and condescending manner in which you did so! What a shame though that you are factually incorrect regarding Scotland which is NOT zero tolerance. The limit in Scotland is 22/100 not zero which is the point under discussion rather than zero tolerance of those 'over' the prescribed limit! Perhaps you might wish to be sure of your facts before criticising other people!
