Honestly sick of people rating fragrances with terms like old lady-ish or grandma-like… tearing down some of my favourite notes like patchouli, rose, or lilly of the valley… Just let the people wear what they like ! And let’s have some variety and fun with our fragrance game. Great video. I adore Synthetic Jungle, was a love at first sniff for me. It is a fantastic spring fragrance truly. Another favourite of mine with the note of lily of the valley is Aqua Universalis by MFK. Curious to try some others from the list.
I kind of like to know when a fragrance is super mature or has that auntie/grandma vibe. Sometimes that is what I am going for but not always. Kinda helps with expectations when I’m reading fragrance reviews and blind buying decants. 😂
@@ashleylala4293 but that is so subjective… wouldn’t it be better to talk about how a fragrance smells like?(powdery, earthy, musky, sweet…) rather than using those kind of despective adjectives?(as if old ladys all had a bad taste…)
I happen to adore Tempel. It's not for everyone, and not a safe blind buy. But, it's powerful and unique. What I want to get my nose on is Guerlain's Muguet!
I love Lily of the Valley!! So classic and dainty and whimsical! The only time I don't like it is when it leans too too green (Dior's Diorissimo for me). My favorite LotV fragrance is, funnily enough, is Dior's Lucky from the Prive collection! It is slightly sweet, slightly green, slightly floral, slightly clean. So wearable and feminine. Lovely!
@ibsunshinesu6011 I recently ordered a decant of Lucky and it is quite nice! Inflorescence is still my favorite LOTV (aside from Guerlain Muguet but their price is absurd) but Lucky is great. I kind of want to try layering the two.
I’m so excited for this video. Lily of the valley is my favorite flower. Since I was a little girl, my grandparents were always bringing me a bouquet of lily of the valley flowers for my birthday in May 💛🥹
My mother told my sisters and I we should wear lov on May 1 to bring us true love (I’m not sure where she heard this or just made it up to marry off 4 daughters)… we all still wear it that day (I wear it others) although we’ve been married 20-34 years💕
I love this note! Came across a vintage travel size bottle of Diorissimo - in pristine condition - from, I think, the 1970s at a flea market a couple of years ago and paid next to nothing for it 😶. Heartbreakingly beautiful! I was converted at that point. Really enjoyed this video.
20 yrs ago, I used to work in an office with a woman who wore that fragrance and I was obsessed with it on her. Such a lovely floral. When did they reformulate it? I haven’t smelled it in so long but I’ve always wondered if it smells the same.
I adore spring and spring flowers and lily of the valley is in my top 3 ❤ I have been wearing Estee Lauder Pleasure for almost 20 years and I still adore it! Synthetic Jungle is on my wishlist happy to see it at no1 I hope to see more videos like this 🎉
My favourite flower!!! Thank you for this. I have Gold man and love it. I cry because I can’t have the original Guy Robert version. Also, the same with the original Edmond Roudnitska (yes, it was him) Diorissimo. I still have some left in my bottle of Tauer’s Carillon pour in Ange. I find his perfumes to be intelligent and interesting, but not beautiful. Carillon is truly beautiful. Very sad that it also has been discontinued. My favourite! Always, ever on, with my search for another LOTV that I love wholeheartedly. I will sample Synthetic Jungle, Apogee and Tres French. Well done! A million thanks.
I love Lazy Sunday Morning and Springtime in a Park. My absolute favourite lily of the valley perfume is L'eau D'Issey pour femme from Issey Miyake. So yes, lily of the valley is right up my alley!!!!😂
Thank you very much for the wonderfull video. I LOVE Yves Rocher Muguet En Fleurs, made by Sonia Constant. Such a crisp, green LOTV, almost a soliflore.
I've had enough with people describing perfumes as "grandma smell". In 20 years GenXers will be grandparents, so 90s perfumes like CK One, Mugler Angel and Gaultier Le Male will be grandma/grandpa smells? Also the sheer terror people have of smelling like an old woman says a lot about how society views aging and misogyny. Finally, If you can't go beyond describing a perfume as "grandma smell" it just shows how your knowledge of fragrance is limited, perhaps go educate yourself before gifting the world with your "opinion".
I like to know what I’m getting and how others may perceive it. Sometimes I want a mature, grown woman fragrance but I don’t exactly want to smell like 80s White Diamonds. We have to wear what we love. If someone says my favorite perfume smells like rat vomit on them, I don’t take it personal. Smells are so subjective, one man’s trash is another’s treasure and thank God or there wouldn’t be enough to go around.
I'm very new to fragrances and ADORE Synthetic Jungle! I guess I like lily of the valley and will need to check out the other fragrances listed here! Great video thanks!!!
I used to wear a muguet oil. I love it, but I can see where it's not for everyone. I didn't know that muguet is lily of the valley. I'd be interested in trying a muguet-based fragrance that's a tad more complex than the oil I used to wear.
I was recently in Amsterdam and bought a bottle of lily of The Valley from Aqua di Parma at the Bijenkorkf(Department Store) and it is great !! , I know it’s a bit feminine but it smells so good that I decided what that heck; I am buying it!!. Thanks.
Another Lily of the valley scent I love is Roja Dove’s Les Clochettes Du Bonheur. Smells very similar to Diorissimo but much more luxurious. Les Clochettes Du Bonheur translates to “the bells of happiness”. And I think you should check it out, I don’t see too much information of Roja’s Pierre de Velay line.
I adore Odalisque, got a sample from lucky scent. The scent is bold and reminds me of Vogue perfume ads when I was a teen in the early 90s. I am all for the "old lady scents".
I LOOOOOVE LOTV!! My favorite is the Guerlain limited release that I smelled many years ago but the price is ludicrous. Byredo Inflorescence is the next best thing for me. I do wish the longevity was better though. I could see how someone might think it’s a grandma status freshie. I’m in my 30s but I am going for the Golden Girls vibe sometimes.
I am a lily of the valley FREAK. THE BEST lily of the valley fragrance is Muguet de Bois by Coty. Yes, it's cheap as chips, but the most lily of the valley fragrance out there.
Oh awesome but yes, the name changes is definitely happening. I already looks like the name is changed to synthetic nature here in the states. I shot this video a month and a half half ago maybe two months ago so it was still synthetic jungle.
😂 Daaaang Sebastian, I can not believe you are kicking this video off with Tempel!! When I was first discovering this house, I ordered a decant of Tempel because I love LOTV. I was shocked. This might be one of the most repulsive fragrances that I have ever smelled. I got Raid bug spray with a strong note of Romano cheese. My GF recoiled as well, lol. I actually thought it must have been rancid but I think it was just one hella funky Oud. Whenever a perfumer combines a really loud dominating note with a subtle note, it completely drowns out the softer notes for me. It’s like trying to listen to a softly played piano piece while heavy metal music is being blasted through the speakers. It just doesn’t work. I do love me some Terenzi but definitely not Tempel.
There was a strangeness about it for me too at first and I noticed if I separated out the notes it helped. It was the cloves note that was bothering me against the green floral notes of all the flowers.

Amen to that! It seems all the modern perfumes are generic fruity floral gourmand. I'm a proud "old lady perfume" wearer.
I happen to adore Tempel. It's not for everyone, and not a safe blind buy. But, it's powerful and unique. What I want to get my nose on is Guerlain's Muguet!

I’m so excited to watch this!!!!! I wish diorissimo was never reformulated. You won’t believe how amazing it was decades ago!
Oh decades I'm sure it was too good. Yes I only know the current version.
Have you tried Dior Lucky? I don’t remember if that was in the Privée ranking videos.
Performance is near null but it’s nice! Straight unisex
I have tried it yes but do not own it unfortunately. Might circle back to it.
Awww, that’s such a bummer and I hate it when they do that.
@ibsunshinesu6011 I recently ordered a decant of Lucky and it is quite nice! Inflorescence is still my favorite LOTV (aside from Guerlain Muguet but their price is absurd) but Lucky is great. I kind of want to try layering the two.

This has been one of my favorite notes since childhood (the 60s)
Lilly of the valley, Easter lilly and hyacinth...such glorious fragrances. These are my favorites flowers. 🩷
I'm fortunate to own a vintage bottle of Guerlain Champs Elysees. It's gorgeous, lasts all day and is very Mimosa, Lily of the Valley heavy.
20 yrs ago, I used to work in an office with a woman who wore that fragrance and I was obsessed with it on her. Such a lovely floral. When did they reformulate it? I haven’t smelled it in so long but I’ve always wondered if it smells the same.

Hermes Muguet Porcelaine is a fantastic LOTV, wearing it right now
Talking about LOTV, I would recommend to try Oriza L. Legrand take on this note called Muguet Fleuri.
A super nice fragrance.
I love Lilly of the Valley! 🌹
Love lily of the valley!!Diorissimo is a favorite.
Great.
This note smells amazing with my chemistry.
That's excellent!!
I've always loved lily of the valley flowers..I have some in the garden. I have the Diorissimo from many years ago
My favourite is vintage Miss Dior (tall ribbed bottle with opaque lid). I wore it over the Easter weekend, and wow it's delicious; Spring in a bottle
Thanks for sharing!! But yes Vintage all the way!!
To me the most lovely lily of the valley is Penhalingons ❤ I have even a back up bottle❤ 2°spot I would say , one from Acqua de Parma
Amouage-Honour women is also a very strong parfum in Lily of the valley
I love Santa Maria Novella’s Mughetto. So clean and fresh, never fails to bring compliments.
My favourite flower!!! Thank you for this. I have Gold man and love it. I cry because I can’t have the original Guy Robert version. Odalisque sounds really enticing. May have to try that one.
Quite classic but good.
It is my favorite note and I am saving up for a bottle of Diorissimo.
I love lily of the valley ❤
oh yes LOTV all the way! :)
Can’t find them anymore, but I used to live Coty’s Muguet des Bois, and Crabtree & Evelyn’s Lily of the Valley
I have been waiting for this one. 🎉🎉. I've been experimenting with this note since purchasing the one from Penhaligon's.
YES

Thank u for this video
I feel in love with this scent for thr 1st time in 2024. The hunt for the right Lilly of the valley for me
Thanks
Great!! Hope you find something! :)
Synthetic Jungle - grabbing it so much this spring!
I'm very new to fragrances and ADORE Synthetic Jungle! I guess I like lily of the valley and will need to check out the other fragrances listed here! Great video thanks!!!
I was surprised that Dior Privée - Lucky did not made the cut.
i had a really hard time with Muguet, i hated it for a very very long time. but Guerlain Muguet and Yves Rocher changed my mind.
I need the Guerlain!!
@@ThePerfumeGuy we need the new 3 guerlain parfums review !! 🥵
So Happy to see you review Bluebell - its one of my favourites!
It's so good!

I’m loving Lily of the Valley right now ❤
Perfect spring floral note.
Woow I haven't smelled any from the list... 😬 Will get samples, at lest to know what you're talking about. Thanks for the video Sebastian!!!

Hi sebastian. Im surprised aqua di parma's "lilly of the valley" didnt make your list. I love it
Sadly I don't own it. :(
Thank you for sharing. 🙏
my beloved Joop! Le Bain has this note.
Agree! Synthetic Jungle the best! Diorissimo I wish I had the parfum! Gold standard!
Ooh yes.
You should try Hermès Muguet Porcelaine Eau de toilette if you haven’t.
I’ve tried it just don’t own it, because that collection is quite pricey for EDT. I enjoyed it though.
I am a lily of the valley FREAK. THE BEST lily of the valley fragrance is Muguet de Bois by Coty. Yes, it's cheap as chips, but the most lily of the valley fragrance out there.
Ooh
I also love Lily of the valley
Gorgeous flower.
Apogee is my favourite from Louis Vuitton.
It's a good one for sure.
Remember Muguet des Bois from Coty?
Silvanus kicks absolute ASS. SOAPY MUSKY FLORAL SCENT. super unisex, unique, beautiful. If only it had a creamy immortelle note as well.
Ooh yes!!
My mother used to wear Diorissimo in the 80s when I was a little girl. Lily of the Valley is comforting to me for that reason.
Oh yes makes so much sense.
I just got a bottle of Synthetic Jungle in the mail yesterday. The big bottle, Just in case it gets discontinued or name change.

Floraiku - Sleeping On The Roof is a great LOTV
Sadly, I don’t know this one
I’ve been wanting to try that one for a while! Sounds great.
@@funeats8201 Yeah, it's a little green, airy and just very beautiful!
There’s a lot of Lilly of the valley on the new Tilia by M. A. Barrois in my opinion, too ;)
Will have to check it out.
Accento overdose my favourite from this list
Great!!
Hello, Is cefiro's Lilly of the Valley similar to xerjoff's rennaissance?
Sadly I haven’t tried those. Will have to get my nose on them.
Guerlain does an annual Muguet that’s worth buying at least once.
Ooh yes, I keep forgetting.
I have been meaning to ask what the scent club mystery box is, is it a subscription?
We don't do subscriptions but drops and I announce them on the channel here.
@@ThePerfumeGuy Thank you.
Hey Sebastian!❤❤
Hello!!
Penhaligon's Bluebell did not work well on my skin. It smells like the water from rotten flowers forgotten in a vase for a couple of days.
There was a strangeness about it for me too at first and I noticed if I separated out the notes it helped. It was the cloves note that was bothering me against the green floral notes of all the flowers.
Breaking Bad comes to mind when I hear lily of the valley 😂
Interesting.
Lol why? My mom used to love that show but I don’t remember a LOTV reference.
Please, one similar to Envy by Gucci❤
I love D&G VELVET MUGHETTO EAU DE PARFUM
I haven't tried it yet.
you need to hurry, they will disappear soon, all velvet will be gone 😢 I will receive my new bottle soon, can send you samples
J THINK YOU MISSED THE ACQUA DI PARMA LILLY OF THE VALLEY
Molinard Muguet is great
Another one I should check out.
I enjoyed Tears From the Moon but not enough to buy a whole bottle.
Yeah, it’s a bit underwhelming.
Dior lucky is missing from this ranking
sadly I don't own it. But might have to circle back and find a bottle. ;)
No lucky by Dior? O_o
sadly I don't own it. But might have to circle back and find a bottle. ;)
Wasn’t this the poison used on Jesse Pinkmans girlfriend son “Brock” in Breaking Bad 😅.. Damn Mr White ((✊))
Oh that's what it was.
Lily of the valley, aka muguet. 🙂
Yes
Thanks, a memory of Muguet des Bois!
I found that out when looking at the notes of a Sospiro. Contralto, I believe. I didn't know that before.
❤❤❤❤❤
Hello, welcome!!

1st!
Hello
I love Santa Maria Novella’s Mughetto. So clean and fresh, never fails to bring compliments.
