- I have already posted this some time ago, but thought it was worth doing again.
Only this time I have spent more time enhancing it, boosting the contrast...brightening up the areas that need it, adjusting colour balance etc.
The film is a class 56 collecting coal from Goldthorpe Colliery in 1992, the pit has since gone and is now a housing estate, making this footage rare, as it can never be repeated.
We see 56093 come off the branch line on to the main line to Ferrybridge Power Station, where it passes Hickleton Main Colliery Sidings Signal Box.....this has now gone also. Along with the branch line and the spot where I am filming, this is now a main road.
Sometimes it is sad to see some changes, and for me this is a sad change.

You know, I wasn't going to bother thinking "I'll do it another day", but am I glad I did bother...or else I would not have this footage now.

Walked over the footbridge there a few weeks ago when visiting friends in Goldthorpe, it left me with the feeling that we are going backwards and the ruling classes are happy to encourage this.
Very nice mate, hard to think that we had scenes like this only 20 years ago and now we've got nothing interesting.
You are absolutely right, they are my feelings as well. They can keep their `so called` progress....take me back to the 50's and 60's. Life seemed to be so much simpler then..........but then it could be just me!!!
