For the ceiling i like the wood, but it may be hard to do by yourself since it will be above your head. For your floors, linoleum is inexpensive and will make cleaning so much easier. A good future project would be a deck that goes from the sife door of your cabin to the the bus door. It will help reduce the mud in your cabin. You can put a roof on it, or a tarp to keep you dry when going bavk and forth. Then in the winter you could enclose it with plastic to keep you dry and warm and give you a place to leave your wet gear.

You can make a compost pile using hay and toilet waste..It has to be turned..Once it cures it becomes fertilizer for planting a garden..You save chicken poop old food it will turn into fertilizer

I noticed he's getting more affectionate with you😊 3. The scrap wood can be used to build the shelves you want to put behind the front door. 4. Spread some gravel down soon to combat the mud around the cabin. 5. Use a piece of wood or top for the outdoor trash can to prevent the rain collection. 6. Start a compost pile for all yall's 💩 and fruit/veggie scraps. Feed the stale crackers to the birds. Never throw away any food. 7. Remember to wear your rubber boots/shoes whenever you're in the yard, not your slippers, so you can easily clean the 💩 off. 8. Hey Wes - I have been watching since early fall and silently rooting for you. Well, maybe not totally silent - sometimes I find myself talking to your videos like, “Be careful! That ladder is slippery!” Or, “You go, dude! Knocking it right out the park!” … As someone who has been regularly disappointed by humanity I understand your desire to live your own way on your own land. I’m much older than you, but you are inspiring me every day. Not to mention your inner beauty has attracted a community of kindness and genuine support - your internet family truly wants to see you succeed and that helps ease some of the disappointment in humanity I mentioned. Good people are gravitating to you. We DO exist! Watching you is teaching me so much about resourcefulness and determination, and I am learning homestead skills from the videos and the comments. So many knowledgeable folks with great advice! I have only a small suggestion which is for you to please try and incorporate protein into every meal. You clearly have a high metabolism and you work HARD. Your muscles need protein. Too many carbs in a body like yours will just sizzle and contribute to that loop of fatigue. For example, oatmeal and granola bars are basically the same breakfast- oats and sugar. You will get fast energy from this but if you add protein your energy will roll out for longer. Someone mentioned peanut butter either in the oats or maybe dip the granola bar in. Or, you could snack on mixed nuts, jerky, etc. throughout the day. Eggs are unbeatable for protein and omegas that you need to keep that body healthy and functioning for your future years. Sorry this is so long - I don’t comment much so it’s all or nothing, I guess. Please keep on being you, work at your own pace and enjoy your land and animals. I have no children but would be proud to call you my internet son 😊 PS: there is no shame in learning from mistakes. The last piece is always the hardest. Don't be so hard on yourself. You're doing a great job by yourself. I'm a widow and when I have to do even little projects like hanging a curtain rod, I get so aggravated with myself and I do that and say idiot... lol... I understand the frustration but we just can't give up and have to keep going. Your projects are way bigger than my projects, for sure.

Hey Wes. I was thinking about the last part of your wall you finished. Last video you showed a leak. Make sure that you insulation isn’t wet. It can set up mold. That first place is a good dry heat but in the summer when it rains that can be a perfect place for mold to grow. Also I think it’s leaking because there isn’t enough overhang from your roof over the window and the leak is coming from there. Very inspirational. More young people need an experience like yours- building something from scratch that belongs to you.
Been working on the widows for a min time to focus for real . You have a lot of time on your hands n a lot of people who are helping you . Don’t get to comfortable!! Get the job done !

I think with the smoke and soot that having something that doesn't absorb smells, when painted, and is easier to wipe down would be best.

Watching you is teaching me so much about resourcefulness and determination, and I am learning homestead skills from the videos and the comments. So many knowledgeable folks with great advice!
I have only a small suggestion which is for you to please try and incorporate protein into every meal. You clearly have a high metabolism and you work HARD. Your muscles need protein. Too many carbs in a body like yours will just sizzle and contribute to that loop of fatigue. For example, oatmeal and granola bars are basically the same breakfast- oats and sugar. You will get fast energy from this but if you add protein your energy will roll out for longer. Someone mentioned peanut butter either in the oats or maybe dip the granola bar in. Or, you could snack on mixed nuts, jerky, etc. throughout the day. Eggs are unbeatable for protein and omegas that you need to keep that body healthy and functioning for your future years.
Sorry this is so long - I don’t comment much so it’s all or nothing, I guess. Please keep on being you, work at your own pace and enjoy your land and animals. I have no children but would be proud to call you my internet son 😊

Hey Wes. I was thinking about the last part of your wall you finished. Last video you showed a leak. Make sure that you insulation isn’t wet. It can set up mold. That first place is a good dry heat but in the summer when it rains that can be a perfect place for mold to grow. Also I think it’s leaking because there isn’t enough overhang from your roof over the window and the leak is coming from there. Very inspirational. More young people need an experience like yours- building something from scratch that belongs to you.

Good morning Wes, my vote is for wood on the ceiling. I also agree with others on putting a porch/ramp from your side door to the bus. Prayerfully you will extend it to the front. BTW don't be so hard on yourself. Give yourself more Grace as you are learning as you go. Trust there are individuals who do this everyday that made these same mistakes in the beginning.

It creates the focus so you feel in charge. Add content creation to it. Add in days off. Add in equipment inspection. Add in bad weather days so u can plan your indoor activities.
