@@thedriversapex just rebuilt my switch yesterday- it’s a good thing too because my AC sucks - 😁. I’ll be getting an AC solutions upgrade in the near future. Just need to budget for it for a few months.

I was unsure if this was the way to take them apart but this gave me reassurance. Thanks!

Awesome! Thanks for watching. I was super nervous at first because I was scared to break the case.

In the 29 years I've had my e30, have had to do this many times. I always carry a spare in the glove box, switch them out when they fail and clean the dirty one when I get home.

Nice little vid. Going to do mine today. Might see if the same theory works on the locks as well.

@@thedriversapex Turns out it wasn't my switch, but nonetheless, it was nice to pull them all apart and do a little restoration/cleanup work on them to get them working more efficiently. The one window I was having issues with it turns out the cable was in a bind with the motor, etc. It was a pain taking all the electronic window assembly apart as most of the primary screws are back facing inside the door but luckily I figured it out and was able to regrease all the components and it's working like new now. Nothing had to be replaced. Plus now that I've done it once and understand it, in the future it will be much easier. Thanks for the vid!

@@sikamoreify Hey mate, I think Im have to do what you did, how hard was the process any youtube videos you warched and recommend?

@@danlim5863 I replied to this a week ago and for whatever reason, it looks like RUclips didn't keep it in place, which is a bummer because it was very thoughtful and this one won't be as much. That said, it was a massive pain in the ass and I couldn't really find any documentation on how to do it either here on YT or elsewhere on the web. I just started feeling around for screens on the back of the panel near the motor and removing them until one did what I needed it to. It's nearly impossible without something like the ANEX Ultra Low Profile Offset Ratcheting Screwdriver, which is a really great Japanese made tool, I have several of their various drivers. This will enable you to access the backfacing screw heads that mount everything into the door. Good luck!

Nice shift knob can I have information about where did you get it ?

Thank you and thanks for watching! Here is a link to the shift knob: www.condorspeedshop.com/collections/e30-parts/products/condor-weighted-shorty-shifter
I definitely like a heavier shift knob for shifting. It’s a good set up and it’s easy to install. LMK if you have any other questions. -Tom

Hey i have a problem such as this but my window doesn’t want to go up same model and I already checked the fuses and the wiring from the window switch,(which my driver side window doesn’t want to go up)I tried to see which wires from the switch work and only the bottom button works to put the window down which the wire sends power.any heads up?

You can try swapping the driver and passenger window switches to isolate the issue. Swapping in the working passenger side one to the driver side should show if it's the switch itself.

Hey, David! Exactly! Let us know if that helps to isolate the issue.
