Amazing design! Not sure why I didn't get notified about this video earlier.. 😕 Also I love that you still tell why you do stuff that you have always done, such as single door air locks, how to build the wurst starter, etc.
Thanks @@lilb-pop4903 .. I try not to forget how it was when I was a noob at building, and when someone explaining those things was really eye-opening!
I like how you turned this into a starting up tutorial as well, you didn't just say "You build it like this", you also gave us instructions on what we would need to do in order to have the resources to build it. Thank you.
I have built so many 2x2 starter bases throughout my rust career, and I configure them almost the same as shown in this video. Despite that fact, i still watched the entire 21 minute video and still feel like I've gained some new knowledge. thank you Evil Wurst ♥️
Also I've always done the u-shape but at the end instead of getting to the TC there's an open hole in the floor that jumps up to another double door to the second floor. And then another u-shaped to get back to the other side and then that's he see if they have to go through seven doors I think
This is probably the best 2x2 tutorial video on RUclips right now. You've got the basic theory, good walkthrough of details, and an explanation of options.
I don't know how you manage to sound so cool and relaxed. It really gives off the impression of professionalism and that you know what you're talking about because you've been in the building game for years.
This should be mandatory watching for all new players - I still see so many 2x2s done badly. What I really like about this video is the little survival hints and tips that you explain through the build. As a solo player with 1800 hours, I still build the Mini Frustrator sometimes (I have one right now, it's one of 3 bases). I find that experienced raiders will recognise it instantly, and know that there is no easy way in. Once they see the key lock on the front door, they can't be bothered since they know a) that I'm solo and b) exactly how many rockets they will need, and that it's likely not worth it (it isn't, if I've got boom then I use it raiding 2x2s built by people who haven't watched this video, haha!)
Interesting to read that according to your experience, raiders tend to avoid the Mini Frustrator. In case you made substantial upgrades to it, I'd be delighted to see a few screenshots. Feel free to join my Discord (link in description) and send them to me via pm.
I dont even play rust n love watching these vids. This one is by far the best. The attention to detail and how well you explain everything. Amazingly good. I.m.o the best Rust base design / build channel out there.
Just got into Rust. Managed to pick up a stash of resources from a decaying raiders base. I now have an armoured base with basic equipment. Just getting to grips with the processes and gameplay then PVP. Loving it so far I will try this build next.
I took this design and slightly modified it after suffering several roof raids. I put auto-turret pods on the ends of the honeycombs and roof access near the airlock entrance.
I recommend putting a triangle ladder hatch on the roof in between the garage door and double door. This will give you a second exit and help prevent door camping. You can also use some triangle roof pieces to give you more protection.
Hey, safety tip for the roof, if you put the inner 4 halfwalls so one squere nas either 2 rough or 2 soft walls (not including the outsine walls). This makes it much more resistent, if raider first uses C4 or satchels to get through the roof hoping to soft-side the rest. This way he will never get all 4 without aditional explosives

Easy decision to sub. I think a lot of people are looking for these designs for easy raids, but there's so much stuff you can modify just a little bit to make it harder to identify. Really good open floorplan and storage management, and I love seeing a build that uses lockers. I feel like they're really underappreciated.

Evil Wurst I watched many of your best builds and I don’t have rust either, also I recommend you try a tutorial for a iceberg base with auto-turrets and Sam sites, my friend tried to raid one and failed miserably
The only thing I would add is that if you rotate ur workbench to be facing backwards you can fit another small box under it for more loot. The same thing can be done with repair benches aswell
Honestly the 2x2 is such a great design but is done so badly. I saw a armoured 2x2 with no airlock and an armoured door. Camped with a DB and went deep in 10 secs. Easiest loot of my life.
I had something similar but it was an airlock with 2 sheet metal doors. Whole inside was open but with locked boxes, except one. It had satchels so we used them to blow up the other boxes and TC.
It only seems basic because you are so familiar. To someone first entering the game without any foreknowledge from guides, tutorials, or another player, they may not think about the need for it. If they primairly play on pve servers for example or at least low pop servers it may not have ever been an issue.
I like this video even though I do not like 2x2s :-) What I like especially is the fact that you managed to put in some Basic survival strategy for none PVP chads. To whoever reads this and is new to the game: The advice given at around 8:08 is solid. Evil and I played like this for several hundred hours and it always served us well. If you're not BChillz or Trausi 2.0 you have considerably better chances of succeeding on wipeday if you follow this advice. And even if you are a PVP chad it still helps.
Might be the best builder in Rust! You are so detailed, both inspiring new and long time players. Next time I am in charge of building the base, I am definitely building this one.
A superb guide for beginners! Not only you showcase the base well but also teach core building principles that will set newbies off to creating their own bases. The "F-shape" is probably more ideal for beginners as they will likely use this as their main base, making the extra storage invaluable.
I would suggest a bunkered 2x1. You get a small amount of storage to start, but you can add 2nd floor as a storage area and the base is completely modular. Also the 2x1 bunker is cheaper to HQM than a 2x2, if you wanted to keep the base as a main. Just an idea, this is what I use, very strong design

I love this design! I use it all the time, the one thing that I do change is I flip the side the 2 front doors are on as I found that door campers can see deep into your base when they’re both open, this happened to me and switching the sides remedied this. A brilliant and helpful video as always
Cheers! Please note that compared to most bases on my channel, this base is still on the weaker side. It’s best use as a starter base, not as a main base

How did he pad out a 2x2 base to 20 minutes?
*Constant zero filler content tips and condensed advise quickly flow into my system*
I'm impressed you taught me so much, you're both concise and completely understandable.
Me: *is brand new player*
Evil Wurst: Just a simple base design
Me: *pikachu face*
10:36 fire feels better on the feet than on the head.
Excellent work man, I'm suscribed
Welcome to the channel!
I’m going to use this when rust drops on console.
I think thats is not going to HAPeEn
It probably will but it won't be as good as the steam version
Lol just finished this build on ps4
dude, you're just cool! good luck in developing the channel, your videos surprise me every time more and more!
Bro now I just gotta learn how to do this while being chased down by a clan and build this in record speed
Hehehe, yes indeed. Though once you get the first 2x1 down, you should be good
I am new to Rust, everytime i mostly just make a 2x1, I wouldnt really want to make much on my own, because I know it would suck and have big weaknesses. Finally, I can have a good base.
tfw you have a real life and no time for Rust anymore but still watch these videos to feel like you’re playing
man your videos are amazing the thing that i most like about your videos is how you describe things and explain every detail.
Happy to hear that!
Will you be making a 2021 version? Also great video this absolutely the best I've seen in the 100s of videos I've watched trying to find a good build lol
My plan is to make one in the beginning of 2022. I wouldn't have to add too much at the moment
Great video man. I really appreciate explaining damage and the why's. Helps give us noobs a little knowledge so we can do our own designs
ah yes now i can get raided even harderer great base
Thank you SO MUCH ❤
I have been searching high and low for a guide that covers the fundamentals , and it's so in depth too!
Much appreciated 👍
And here I was thinking I knew how to build bases and thinking I wouldn't get much out of this... well I'll be damned, this was so much more detailed and useful than expected!
Happy to hear that this video was useful for you!
After the starter base vid I'm now subbed... and learning so many little tricks. And thank you for explaining why you do the things you do.. so helpful
I love this design! I use it all the time, the one thing that I do change is I flip the side the 2 front doors are on as I found that door campers can see deep into your base when they’re both open, this happened to me and switching the sides remedied this.
A brilliant and helpful video as always
Easiest stater base I’ve seen in a while good job!
Finally a base video I can actually understand
I’m kinda new to the game and I’ve gotten raided so much so I’m so glad I found this video. Thanks for the help man!
Cheers! Please note that compared to most bases on my channel, this base is still on the weaker side. It’s best use as a starter base, not as a main base
Wow what a well put together video. Came for a base design and got a whole new strategy to basing on wipe day.
I am glad you found the video useful!
I see this base EVERYWHERE already. Most popular base of 2020.
That was awesome bro and extremely helpful! Am going to try it on the build server first. So cool! Keep up the great work and congrats on 100K
My absolute pleasure! Thank you so much!
You have Mad skillz,. I appreciate you sharing them. Cheers
Thank you!
Wow I was amazed by how much detail was put into this video and how you explained it so well and clear much have took a while to make a video like that here’s a sub :)
This was a great guide and I've learned so much. Time to watch more of your videos haha
Glad to hear it!
@@EvilWurst I thought I was getting the hang of this game but you're videos have put a lot of things that I've learned into perspective. Thank you! :)
Bro I’m new to rust u just made my experience so much better
Thank you! I still remember how confused I was in the beginning, and I made this video with people like you in mind. Welcome to the community and best of luck!
Truly impressed in the quality of this video, great job man
Much appreciated!
This video for beginners is absolutely brilliant
This video is the best tutorial on building and the basics on how to play rust 5 ⭐️
Happy to hear you found it helpful!
Every damn player should have to watch this video.
It's not the end-all-be-all to Rust, but there's so much good advice in here. Things that take you months to learn on your own.
Just a really solid, well-done video with all the bullshit trimmed out.
This was an easy upvote for me. Well done, Evil Wurst.
I really enjoyed this video and I learned a lot recreating it today. Thank you very much for this tutorial.
My pleasure!
just after finishing the base, two dudes tried to raid me with rockets but didnt get past the first double sheet metal door after the air lock. Thanks for the tutorial
Love the rugs/bear rugs tip! Never heard that one before
Great, I am happy to hear that mentioning these basic game mechanics has value!
